I just wanted to hop on here and let you know how much I appreciate your willingness to share your hardships along with your successes. Sometimes I get into the mindset that if you’ve been doing this as long as the two of you, then the Hanks must really know all the ins and outs. But, in reality, you are just two amazing people on your wonderful life journey learning as you go! Thank you for being so authentic. I look forward to each and every one of your videos! Safe travels!

Make Sure the go to Cape Breton. Beautiful campground at Inverness Beach Village!! Must see! Use this as base camp and travel Cape Breton without towing. It will save brakes and you are close enough to Cabot Trail to explore daily. Ego every summer. Cute village and world class golf and dining.

You're so spot on about maintenance and not ignoring changes in your rig. What we thought was an out of balance front end on our Class A turned out to be tire wear (a do now!) and we discovered a cracked rotor. We had no idea that we were rolling on a ticking time bomb. Acadia and Bar Harbor are pretty awesome. Once again, I recognized your breakfast place after the Cadillac mountain sunrise. It's pretty good!

Awesome video, as usual!! You always tell us that you have to advocate for yourself as a full time RVer, and that holds true with your tow vehicle too! When we started 3 years ago, I created a maintenance notebook for my truck and that has helped a lot! I have a RAM dually and it needs fuel filter changes (2 fuel filters) along with DPF items etc. Once a year I pay for an alignment check and a thorough front to back inspection of the truck that includes all the linkages, bushings, fluid changes (differential, transfer case etc). It's not cheap, however we budget for it to happen and it adds a TON of peace of mind! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us! We'll see you on the road!

We can relate on that. I am forever & always watching the license plates. Fun eh? I could hear it & it was wonderful. Thanks for making the trek for me as we'll never go but silently wanted to. You struck a nerve with the service on the truck. I've been in the business off auto repair all my life & they should have looked at your truck with a more nuanced eye. I would have recommended an alignment if I saw unusual wear on the your tire or suspension. But here's your hot tip: It's all explained in your owner's manual. My biggest piece of advice to my customers was to read the manual & you'll save a bunch of money. Can't wait for the next video ~ I'm behind a month.

I agree. Cross at Calais - St. Stephen. Highway 9 runs from Bangor to Calais and is a very scenic drive. Hwy 1 is a bit more twisty but also a great drive. Once you cross into Canada you can take NB-1 all the way to Nova Scotia. Easy-Peasy.

The ferry is very controversial among Nova Scotians. It has cost tax payers so much. Nova Scotians even paid to do upgrades to the terminal on the Maine side to ensure the ferry can run. How long will this be an option for travel... time will tell.

We love travelling in spring and fall. No reservations, smaller crowds, just go. I am with you on checking plates. Biggest variety of plates I have ever seen I think was at a recent stop at Liberty Harbour RV park in Jersey City. Practically every rig there was from a different state or province it seemed. The only downside of many places no longer requiring a front licence plate is not being able to see where they are from. :) Love sunrises, Love Cadillac Mountain, but never saw the need to see them both at the same time, but at least sunrise is a bit later in September. Continued safe travels.........

Love watching you two explore our area. Glad to hear you are going to NH as well. No visit to the northeast would be complete without a trip around the mountains where my wife and I live. On the topic of maintenance, use a CAT scale to determine where your weight is being carried so you don't wear out trailer tires or break an axle on the trailer and so that there is enough weight on the trucks front axle for braking and proper steering. It's not just important for us bumper pulls to set up weight distribution for our rigs. Safe travels! We liked Mesa Verde for the same get out where you want and view reasons you enjoyed Acadia.

I've volunteered raking leaves in Acadia. Every fall the uphill sides of the carriage roads get raked and the leaves dumped on the downhill side. This keeps them from plugging up the culverts and washing out the roads. Regarding road salt: Yes. I have never _worn_ out a vehicle in Maine before it _rusted_ out. Salt/sand mix is liberally applied all winter.

I have a 2020 Ford F-350 with their awesome 7.3 liter gas powered 10 speed transmission drivetrain. I plan to keep it for as long as possible targeting 300,000 miles. We tow our 11,000 lb., 34’ Jayco Fifth wheel with it. I’d say, 80% of our miles are towing. I change the oil every 5000 miles as well as rotating the tires. At 30,000 I changed the engine oil, transmission fluid as well as the rear differential plus the transfer case fluids (it’s a 4X4). I’m close to 60,000 miles and will change all the fluids again at 60K. This is well above what the factory manual calls for but every service advisor agrees that’s the way to keep a truck for the long haul.

I always look forward to Thursdays with the Hanks. Back when I was in high school living in Bangor, driving up Cadilac at night to watch the sunrise was just what we did. There were no gates, fees, or reservations. Then, the park became popular and crowded. It is still one of the special places of my home state that I enjoy visiting. There is just so much more to Maine that you didn't get to on this trip, but I am glad you had a positive experience. We took the CAT ferry back from Nova Scotia this summer and it was amazing. You should plan a trip to the Maritimes in the future.

I am a Veteran and can confirm you get a lifetime pass for free. We used it for the first time to visit Zion National Park on our trip to Utah this past summer.

We just spent a couple of weeks and hit Zion, Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, petrified Forest, and Painted Desert. We paid $15 to take the rig through the tunnel at Zion as that wasn’t covered with the pass.

@OpenCarryUSMC yeah, we had to pay for the "escort" cuz our teardrop camper was JUST wide enough. It was kinda cool that we got to drive through the center of the tunnel all by ourselves.

@ as a retired commercial driver (among several careers) I thought it was stupid. There is enough room in that tunnel for two semis to pass without issue.
But the lawyers have to make money somehow and I’m sure the park cleans up during the busy season with that $15 fee.
What kissed me off the most is that none of the parks will take cash which is legal tender for all debts public and private as well as the currency that the federal government prints.
      Absolutely messed up.

So, Kyle has family in Northern California. I live in Paradise, California, which is just above Chico and 87.4 miles above Sacramento. And yes Paradise was destroyed in the Camp Fire of 2018. And now we have, after 6 years,,, have many PG&E lines underground. and we are getting our roads repaved... it truly is a big deal...
