Star and Stripe’s quirk has to be the one of the most broken if not the most broken in the verse. She basically can warp reality on a minor scale. Her creating an air Susanoo and catching the laser like Zeus was also a cool scene. What a dope character and dope first episode. 🔥

@@raec5426 that is honestly a stupid argument for most broken quirk. Yeah AFO can let you get an OP quirk but then the reason that you're OP is because of the new quirk not because of AFO. In terms of potential sure but that's because you can just have New Order plus others but in actuality AFO takes a lot of work to get even close to New Orders versatility, destructive power, and brokenness because most quirks are kinda mid and you need to min max them together before they even approach New Order.
@marshmellowmoon7990 It's not JUST because of that for you to say it's stupid (since it's not either). lol I'm saying in itself is busted because of that too (in addition to the obvious that AFO is powerful, which should go without saying). She has more potential loop holes on her quirk. I don't see as many limitations of AFO besides it needing contact to take quirk.
@@raec5426 No AFO is not powerful in itself, it requires you to take other people's useful quirks for it to be powerful. AFO by itself is not even a power, you're just some regular guy with no special powers until you steal a quirk with a real ability. AFO is only broken when it steals broken abilities and those are rare. AFO has a massive need for luck and prep time for it to be even useful while New Order is by its nature broken.

Her powers are basically like how Orks work from Warhammer. If they believe something works, then it does, regardless of whether or not it logically should; for example, they paint their spaceships red because they think it makes it go fast, and so it does.
That flashback of All-Might was so hype, shit brought a lil tear to my eye. Horikoshi did a good job of recontextualizing that scene to make it the origin story for Star and Stripe.

I love how AFO is like, "If I steal her quirk, the rest of the battle will be easy". And yeah. He's right. The power to assign rules over reality is super broken. We kinda saw hints of words being powerful before with the kid who has a manga for a face and can speak things into existence based on noises he makes. But this is a whole different level. If Shigaraki wasn't currently having an identity crisis, Star would've basically one or two tapped him. And yes, Star is the little girl All Might saves in the beginning of the first movie, two heroes.
Speaking of Shigaraki, we see that Spinner is with AFO's real body. Now, we saw that AFO asked Dabi, Skeptic and Spinner to protect him last season. But Skeptic is off getting the remnants of the Liberation Army and Dabi is off doing his own thing. Toga is off in some alley. Only Spinner is with AFO. Now, normally the League sticks together(with Dabi occasionally being the one to run off). But that was when Shigaraki was in charge. This is AFO. The rest of the League don't have that connection with him like they do with Tomura. So they aren't hanging around 24/7. Only Spinner sticks around(presumably to keep an eye on whatever AFO does to Tomura).
Speaking of Tomura, we see him fighting back in this episode. AFO said Tomura is surpassing both his and the doctor's expectations. And the fact that he still hasn't been fully taken over speaks to that. His hatred is so strong that it can hold quirks at bay or even fight them off. AFO plans to use Tomura's hatred to push through OFA. But it also works in another way. That same hatred is what's keeping Tomura from being completely swallowed up. It all started in that house. With a grain of hate. That built upon itself.

This episode is going to break people’s minds. Deku wakes up, goes to see his class, and THEN THE MAIN VILLAIN GOES AND FIGHTS SAS WHO CONTROLS PRACTICALLY REALITY ITSELF.
I have NO idea whose idea it was to make this fight the season 7 PILOT of all things but I think it’s safe to say this is the best intro episode of the show and that earns its freaking kudos. No quirk recap like in season 6 (believe me we’ve had plenty of those. Not that I blame the show for thinking people won’t remember everything that’s been building and making 4 recap episodes to pave the way before the season proper starts.) and we just dive right into one of the shows biggest fights.
AFO muses on how to keep other countries from getting involved with his takeover in Japan. And he has LIFETIMES planned out after OFA is his. Between global revolts and just destabilizing the entire freaking planet through organized crime that wouldn’t DARE stand up to the likes of AFO. It’s all ready to just blow a gasket. And Spinner is becoming a spokesperson for what remains of the MLA and specifically the heteromorph people. Which is…bizarre but I like it gives importance to a few MLA leaders that weren’t explored to the 1st war. Still hoping if we’ll ever see what that random grandmother does from the PLF leaders. Look back when Hawks is talking about the different regiments in the 1st episode of season 6. A ton of crazy villain designs and among them is just someone’s grandmother. And the quiet before the storm is just INSANE build up. And then it just flies out the gate.
The Symbol of Freedom shows up as the 2nd strongest hero in history enters the fray. Saved and inspired by All-Might of course and RIGHT out of the 1st movie in MHA. That opening scene with Prime All-Might and Dave Shield he saves none other than SaS.
New Order is one of the coolest, most ridiculous, and funniest quirks in the whole show to me. From my interpretation, she touches something, calls it by name, AND THEN GOD HIMSELF EMPLOYS WHATEVER RULE SHE WANTS ON IT. She has SEVERAL conditions to it, contact, verbal, AND only 2 at a time is a TON of conditions on its own. But the FUNNIEST thing to me is she has a super strength rule for herself, and god says fine. But you can’t be stronger than All-Might. That is HYSTERICAL. I can only imagine SaS’ response to that retort.
Based on her feats, her true speed must be around but beneath Mach 30. (Mach 30 has been measured to be All-Might’s top measurable speed in season 1. And I plugged that into my gigantic OFA theory and now I can measure the speed of Deku at any given moment in the show. It worked…shockingly well based on how other people around him perform. So now I’ll say Mach 30 instead of 2,000% because that can actually be something OTHER than a number.) So SaS is evenly matched to AFS’ just under All-Might steroids which is compared to the season 1 Nomu fight. Her jets are probably Mach 10 which she can stand on, perceive and jump on as if they are still. Yet her reaction time APPEARS to be ABOVE light speed. Those are LASERS and she reacted AFTER they started moving. So to put it simply she has the fastest REACTION time of all characters. But her true speed is NOT on par with her reaction speed. Those are very different. AFS can NOT react to that level. That’s why he gets hit by the lasers and THEN finds a quirk like refraction to use on them. And there’s a point where she LETS GO OF HER SUPER STRENGTH to combine her rule of her titan atmosphere rule and the lightsaber of lasers. (And SHE’S STILL STANDING ON THE JET.) Her abilities are WILD. IF she knew the turmoil AFS was in she could have just stopped his heart. (She doesn’t asphyxiate him with the vacuum because I saw green gas in AFS’ hands. So it seems he was supplying his own air to breathe. But he can’t air walk or make momentum on a vacuum so he’s in free fall with the Nomu he rides.
But because this IS the main villain, he has a lot of conditions that give him the advantage. He can still use whatever quirk he wants whenever, and that number is still completely unknown. He for all intents and purposes has UNLIMITED quirks. That STANDS. While I’ve stated many times if he combines every quirk he has, he would be STRONGER than Prime All-Might who is 60x stronger. (Mach 1800 is the 120,000% that took AFO’s face.) Shigaraki is in the pilot more over AFO today despite their amalgamation so Shigaraki still has to learn how to use all the quirks of AFO. And because his identity is such an unknown, even to himself. This takes SaS effecting HIM off the table. AFO is really putting on thick what he is to cast that doubt. AFO’s name is unknown, Shigaraki is technically Tenko Shimura which SaS CAN’T know, and they are fusing muddling up everything ALREADY. And LIKE Endeavor she couldn’t have been aware of the 1/60 drop in power All-Might dealt with and covered up. So she is unaware just how much power AFS can get to when he’s built to be ABOVE that.
So what’s the solution? The only American solution. Nuke him. Fire nukes for her tools in the fight.
Does all this sound familiar? I’ll give you a hint. O’ say can you see, by the dawns early light. HORIKOSHI YOU MAD LAD.
What an absolute insane episode. They really put out all the stops for this insane battle.
