    Molasses added to white sugar makes brown sugar. And both if stored separately will last a long time.

    Time to start planting. You start planting crops after the last freeze.

      @@prepperqueen That was my post from last year around the last freeze. Although you could start preparing the ground while it is cool outside. Things you do not want to do when it is warmer. Trim bushes and tree branches for more room and light. Plus no bugs in the winter time like wasp and bees. Then slowly start tilling and digging up the garden area. Pull out rocks and save them for other projects. Then add fertilizer or compost to the soil. Rake or till it in. It can be leaves from trees or other plant matter. When spring gets here it will be easy to turn the soil over and you will be in better physical condition from staying active. You could experiment with trying to start seeds indoors. Temperature and light are the two most important things in getting the seeds to germinate. If you have cats this could prove to be a very challenging project indoors. They love dirt and plants. Have fun.

    MAKE SURE ITS NOT BIO ENGINEERED. I BOUGHT A LOT OF PATRIOT FOODS AND MOST HAD BIO ENGINEERED INGREDIANT IN THEM.

      i am not sure but my friend is LDS and she told me she has worked in their gardens where they grow the goods for the cans and everything. im not entirely sure of all the processes, but its significantly cheaper than augason farms so if youre budgeting and thats a factor in your decision, it might be a decent option depending on what different items families need.

    Don't forget to check the dates, in the Very Fine print.... Last LDS food I bought was 2018, purchased in 2023. So they shaved at least 5 years of supposed shelf-life off. I won't be buying from them again. And no, it doesn't "last forever". They don't even claim that, and the nutritional quality lessens with every year.

      Some of those canned dehydrated food is less than 30 years like Peanut butter powder and other protein products contain fat and oils that shorten shelf life.
      Y'all should be rotating all the food that you store.

    All is great however, some foods once you open those big large cans, what do you do with the remaining amount if you feed a family of three or four, and there is food left over in the event of emergency there is no electricity. How do you store it and keep it fresh and safe for consumption🌴🌴😎🇺🇸👍

    • @prepperqueen
      @prepperqueen  Год назад +2

      I think you can put it into jars or vacuum seal it and just use the rest in meals and other things :-)

    • @kj7653
      @kj7653 6 месяцев назад +1

      The majority of the food is dry packed. You can just leave it in the can and store it on your shelf for about a year. That is what the plastic lids are for.

    • @nancybrewer8494
      @nancybrewer8494 6 месяцев назад +1

      The food is shelf stable dry food. You just keep using the food for everyday use. You can keep it in the can and put a plastic lid on it.

      the LDS canned foods are just regular dry goods that must be cooked and prepared, just like any other dry foods would. I would NOT be opening any of my cans for a smaller event. It would have to be an awfully huge emergency for me to get into my long-term stockpile. Otherwise I would just be using the regular foods in my pantry.
