I know there was some interview where Lea said that playing Rose in GYPSY was on her bucket list. I hope this means there is a production of GYPSY in Lea’s future!!!
I just saw the full live performance of this this afternoon, and the full belt at the end of the song was the most thrilling moment I have ever experienced in a theatre.
Yes. It's what they call the sitzprobe (in German that means "seated rehearsal") and it's when singers sing with the orchestra for the first time (in prior rehearsals they usually sing with just a piano). Most often I've seen the sitzprobe happen on the last day they rehearse in a rehearsal room - before they move into the actual theater they will be performing in and start tech. Tech for a show can last anywhere from a few days to a week. In the documentary about the making of the original MISS SAIGON (I think it was called "The Heat is On: The Making of Miss Saigon"), there is some footage of the sitzprobe. You can hear some of the reaction of the cast while the orchestra plays the overture for the first time - exciting!

How many solos did Lea have?
I now DEMAND a full production of Gypsy with Lea as Mama Rose!
OH MY GOSH CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FULL PERFORMANCE.
It's only a rehearsal but the attitude, passion in her eyes? Arggh I love Ms. Lea Salonga
When does it come out and where can I watch it?
Currently playing in the Westend at the Gielgud theatre, I think till January 3?@@jonathancoleman161

Wow - this is great! (Privileged to see Lea Salonga in ‘Here Lies Love’ in August - singing in a very different mood)
Crystal Clear!
Finally a real singer doing the score justice...
Now i want Bernadette playing louise or june in the background like when she played Little Red
That's rehearsal?
