I absolutely hate working on Rugby 400s. I get the joy of servicing these and many other lasers on the daily. Its nice seeing you finally repair something inside my wheel house!
Not only is this extremely educational, It is also weirdly very entertaining to me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world, you are the best .
You can take what some might think is going to be boring and turn it into a funny and educational one. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
I think the customer was trying to replace the LCD after some damage and probably pulled on the LCD ribbon cable without releasing the latch on the connector causing the connector to rip off the PCB. I have replaced screens for few laser measure devices myself before. Nice job Alex!
Mate, you are the king of PCBS. The amount of variation you have is insane. You fix the problem and teach us too. I have an educational plumbing and heating channel to help the younger generation learn a trade. I will most definitely share it with them because you can give them a great opportunity in life. Do you realise that? I know you get paid for your videos, but you don't do it for that because no one gets paid straight away. It takes time. We often start just to try and help people and explain what we do. Transparency. I'm just appreciating your work mate and although we haven't met, I like you and your style. Thank you
i have worked in construction & with laser levels' they are made very-very sturdy against impact damage , all i can say is how this got damaged to the point of knocking off a ribbon strip holder & pads must have been a hell of a knock maybe by a excavator bucket swing , solid repair 👍
Hey 👋 just wanted to say thank you for the work you put in on your videos. as someone who one day wants to persue this line of work your videos are an amazing resource. I wish you the best and hope to one day be able to reach the level you have achieved.
It would be a smart move from Alex to remove it or otherwise he may miss out on presenting all the info at court. CPS could pull out knowing he's preparing to take them down.
I watch your videos Alex several times a day :) even those from a few years back. You're doing a great job with electronics. Respect. And your "Better Than Factory" log. Something beautiful. It's really nice to watch your videos. Greetings from Poland.
9:29 Yes, I've put adhesive pads on the bench before. But mine collected mostly dust, hairs, screws, wires, diodes, resistors, capacitors and even a CPU. I didn't see too many elephants and giraffes, though.😂🤣
I had the same issue on a Volvo EC480E excavators smart screen. Because of the constent vidration and shaking it broke off. So knowing that info.🤔🤔 I prep the pins and pads first. 💡💡Than decided using a 4 minute epoxy to lock the connector down from underneath to the board second. Than I solder the pin connections. Check for continuity. Passed❕❕Than I epoxy both side ends to the board and the whole back side pins and all. Plus over the back top half making it one solid mass. Retested continuity again from the front pins . Passed ❕❕👀👀It was an ordeal 4 sure.😰😰That aint going no where❕❕🖐slapped it!
Alex, hello from Brazil, wouldnt easier to work on that board if you remove the big cap to have more space on board and then when the repair is done, you re-solder the big cap again?
What motherboard do you use for GPU repair? I want to buy a motherboard that gives 6 beeps when GPU is not detected, I have 5 different motherboards in here but none of them beeps when gpu is not detected, tested with several defective gpus.
Then he should have learned that the customers usually make things worse. This work looks simple when Alex does it, but is actually only doable for someone trained, eg. fixing many devices a day, not just a few own devices now and then…
Question: what do you do if the repair is something simple like for example a console just needed factory reset or switch blue screen reset issue. Do you just charge for attempt? Im guessing you get alot of these kinds of customers
I see that you have made some videos private (I assume that you was forced). I am looking forward for an update, good luck! And how's it going with your searching for a new house?
Mutual agreement, They agreed to drop the lawsuit and I removed the videos. When faced with a tough decision, take the route that is easier. That's what I did.
@@NorthridgeFix probably they filled the lawsuit for this purpose only , why would you also take unnecessary headache in between doing your own business. But have they refunded your money back just curious 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I couldn’t do this because my hands shake like a shitting dog when I try doing anything other than squirt toothpaste 🥴 but always love watching your videos , I don’t think people realise how small the components and traces actually are in real life
What is the deal with the customers not sending the complete device, so that you can test it properly? 🤔 Actually, then they will have to pay the full repair fee anyhow, unless you find something catastrophically wrong that cannot be repaired, while if they send the whole device, they will only pay for a full repair, if you can test the device to actually work after the repair attempt. Good for you, but a little frustrating not to be able to test if the repair was successful I would guess(?) - do you sometimes get feedback if those repairs on single boards, were successful or not?
Great job Alex ! you wonder why they attempted to fix this device! I figure to try and save some money ! well it like a car in the old days, You cross a plugwire and the car backfires! As you would say ,when will people learn!
Looks like the same guy who loves to rip ps5's apart tried to do some work here.. And Alex, why didn't you simply remove that cap to make working on that board a lot easier?
CAD was invented by a Mr Mandler in Canada using a Leica camera whilst employed by Leica's Canadian branch, bet you back then was saying to himself "I don't think its gonna catch on..." oh wait should I put stuff like this up, I might get sued for various random things by CPS... :P
Hey Alex if you get yourself some clear 3D printer resin you can use it like epoxy on jobs like this with the ripped ground/support pads and cure it with your UV light. Instant glue. You could call it one second epoxy LOL!
There are far too many people who think they are experts but do more harm than good They do not know what they are doing and should stay far away from electronics

My father's job is repairing these since 1992 😅 Greetings from Greece!! Keep up the great work!!
Good work and good improvisation. I like it when you fix not so daily devices. Thank you for that video, greets

Is the adhesive on the one side going to leak into the hinge and be impossible to open to receive flex from lcd?
I just thought the same thing

Where did CPS video go?
They must have gotten youtube to remove it, copyright strike maybe?
It would be a smart move from Alex to remove it or otherwise he may miss out on presenting all the info at court. CPS could pull out knowing he's preparing to take them down.
CPS must watch this channel to have seen the first video.
Lawyers hate when their clients use social media. I suspect that video being taken down means alex has consulted one.
I asked myself the same question. It seems Alex removed both videos. I couldn’t find it the channel.
Well that was a tricky one. You have the hands of a surgeon
أستاذ و رئيس قسم و معلم ، أحلى أليكس و أحلى بيج بوص ، تحياتى 👍🏻🙂
holy cow that's art! I would never even try to attempt fixing a ripped pad
Another perfect repair. Tnx Alex, and great day to you and your team 🙂
Would it make any sense to solder mask over top the pads/pins?
That's what I would have done.
I watch your videos Alex several times a day :) even those from a few years back. You're doing a great job with electronics. Respect. And your "Better Than Factory" log. Something beautiful. It's really nice to watch your videos. Greetings from Poland.
3:46: Where there is a will, there is a relative.
You saved another device from the landfill, thank you.
Impressive repair of something so fragile and tiny. 😀👍
Would solder mask provide some additional connection strength around the pads?
This is what I was wondering. Those pads looked awfully fragile.
Perfect! which glue does Alex use to fasten the connector eventually?
True professional here . Amazed at your precision every time you repair a display connector
Bluetack is good for holding board stable in odd positions
Where did the CPS video go?
Why do you have not secured the pins with the green mask? They are not so stable.
9:29 Yes, I've put adhesive pads on the bench before. But mine collected mostly dust, hairs, screws, wires, diodes, resistors, capacitors and even a CPU. I didn't see too many elephants and giraffes, though.😂🤣
😅
Just leave it there you will see 😂😂
I like you sir .i'am from Indonesian Thankyou for sharing

Good job . That looked tough .
Alex, hello from Brazil, wouldnt easier to work on that board if you remove the big cap to have more space on board and then when the repair is done, you re-solder the big cap again?
Exactly my thoughts
A slight inconvenience? yes
Don't fix what's not broken, maybe his philosophy for this. Might be some risk unsoldering and resoldering the cap
Heating a cap is always risky business.
WHY CPS video is unavailavle ? :(
Waarom deed je hier niet die groene isolatie op de pads?
Alex can you show us how you package the devices in the box when you send them out - like how is your shipping completed
side pins remain unsoldered?
That shirt is so awesome
Good luck on the court , i hope everything will be okey
Can a laser that emits too little light be repaired?
Alex which glue are you using? I have a repair that needs a similar fix
Love from Poland:)
Where`s the C.P.S. video ??? Did You delete it ?
What motherboard do you use for GPU repair? I want to buy a motherboard that gives 6 beeps when GPU is not detected, I have 5 different motherboards in here but none of them beeps when gpu is not detected, tested with several defective gpus.
Why CPS videos down? Hope didn't cave to them.
His attorney possibly told him to take it down until things are settled.
Why did you take the CPS video down?
@tap-on-the-.profile__ cool i got a bot comment reply
Hey Alex I want to ask you a question. Have u ever done cdj repair?
Did it work? whats the feedback? Did the customer get back to you?
😘😘👍👍
Good morning... What temp do you use on your iron for various jobs like the pads you're doing here?... :)
Any time he commented on temps, if I remember, it was in the range 400-450
The customer probably visits your channel often and thought he could do the repairs himself😂
Then he should have learned that the customers usually make things worse. This work looks simple when Alex does it, but is actually only doable for someone trained, eg. fixing many devices a day, not just a few own devices now and then…
nice work bro..."when there is a will there is a way"
....didnt saw video af you about the house..did you found one..
People STOP sending torn apart devices. You are not saving anything and you make it harder to repair.
Question: what do you do if the repair is something simple like for example a console just needed factory reset or switch blue screen reset issue.
Do you just charge for attempt?
Im guessing you get alot of these kinds of customers
Mr. Alex, why did you delete the "c.P.S sued us" video? 🤔
I see that you have made some videos private (I assume that you was forced). I am looking forward for an update, good luck!
And how's it going with your searching for a new house?
did you get feedback from the guy who sent you the board? Did it work?
What happened to last video you were sued?
I hope something comes of it, its a stupid lawsuit to stop him from calling them out
Good question. I'm thinking that they have probably withdrawn as it was a total lost cause.
Mutual agreement, They agreed to drop the lawsuit and I removed the videos. When faced with a tough decision, take the route that is easier. That's what I did.
So all the "I can't wait to tell the judge" stuff was just bluster.
@@NorthridgeFix probably they filled the lawsuit for this purpose only
, why would you also take unnecessary headache in between doing your own business. But have they refunded your money back just curious 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Amazing work
Came in for repair.
0:31 my guess. Easier to ship and not have the shipping Companies (as great as they are) damage something else😉
Video was great 👍
Good work

to secure it would be nice if there were such thing as cotton padded little vices
You can see it at 9:59 in the video
Praying that pad #4 from the bottom is connected to both lines coming from it
@@MattDordevic Hope he spotted that 0.4 is very low eep!
You need some small blocks of wood that you can use in situations like this to level the boards, saves you sticking them over the edge of your desk.
Love from Pakistan
Why not remove the large electrolytic cap to make the board repair easier, and then reinstall?
Nice work ماشاءالله،

Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
thumbnail: what is this?
me: what is that? clicks on video ^^
i think the customers remove the boards and send for save money weight mailing
do you have news abouts Cps? x)
Awesome
nice
Did you remove a video of you getting sued for defamation?
What is the deal with the customers not sending the complete device, so that you can test it properly? 🤔

chip level service video upload like reballing cpu ram ic's
surgical precision!
What the hell????
Did they play laser level football with it???? 🤨😄

A rugby ball goes in when the lazer is open
i was waiting for green mask :(
👍🏻

wow, they really ruined those pads
Is the customer is a bit clever they should not let the brute that ripped off that connector anywhere near that board.
The customer probably would not be able to connect the flex cable, because you glued all parts together.
You're very smart but no.
Tiež som na to chcel upozorniť
That thought came to mind too, but I'm sure Alex knows what he is doing 😁
Which diameter your using for the copper wires?
I'm not sure what video you saw, but he only glued the side ground pins, they have absolutely nothing to do to the attaching plastic clip.
Huhuhu. I am the first viewer of this video 📸
Possibly an eBay damaged device article. Why would such a device have a broken connection? They look robust and being Leica very expensive.
Everything is "robust" until it gets hit with an excavator or who knows what else
you should fix my air purifier
🙏👏👏👏🙏
This is the way 🤣
