  • Welcome to my channel. In this video, I show how to plant rooted bitterleaf stems after putting them in water to root.
    EsteeLicious Garden - African Bitterleaf propagation in the UK
    Bitter leaf (Vernonia Amygdalina) is a traditional ingredient in African cuisine. Although it may have a bitter title, its flavour is quite mild when washed properly and also preserving its nutrients. This shrub can grow up to 3 meters high in the African tropics and other parts of Africa, particularly, Nigeria, Cameroon and Zimbabwe. I hope this video encourages you to propagate your stems intend of throwing them away.

    Hi Estee where do you keep the pots I tried to follow your water leave planting last year but all of mine died I think because of the harsh winter weather, can these ones survive outside?

    • @EsteeLicious
      @EsteeLicious  2 года назад +2

      Hello, Waterleaf and bitterleaf are tropical vegetables so they can not survive winter, that is why my bitter leaf is on a windowsill indoors (mentioned that on the onscreen instruction). Bitterleaf will loose all the leaves in autumn and grow back once they are established plants and the weather warms up but waterleaf dies. I hope this helps.
      Many thanks for watching
