A baby gorilla born via a rare caesarean section has been reunited with her mum at the San Diego Zoo. The baby girl, who came down with pneumonia, has improved enough to be released from hospital and taken on a brief outing with her mother. Zookeepers felt confident enough in the baby's condition that they allowed mum Imani to take the little one out for a stroll, and hang out with the resident gorilla troop. "Today was the first day that the troop was together with Imani and her baby girl, and we let them out on exhibit together and everything seems to be going really well, mum's doing a great job, says Jamie Pawlowski, keeper at San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Report by Jennifer Cordingley.

I got teared up just watching this. So emotional To see how human they are and the love and protection they feel just as we do for our own kids. Wow. Wow wow❤️🇺🇸❤️.
Gorillas are really one of my favorite creatures. They are so gentle, and their eyes are so cognizant. You can really see humanity in them.
They are better than humans. Don’t insult them
erin lewis that they are.
They're all so precious. What a good mama
The newborn is so cute and nursing happily. Mom is so proud of her newborn infant.
Such a wonderful mom and siblings.
So amazing. I love it. Always nice to see a new momma doting on her new baby, and everyone in the community getting along and loving the new addition.
They are so much like humans.
Well done! So great to know you saved the baby. Imani is a lucky mom to have such good care.
Pleasantly surprised that they are letting the mother raise her own baby. I had frankly expected them to pull the baby considering her earlier medical condition
Definitely. Great to see the mother didn't reject her too.
To watch my cousins reuniting is a very endearing image; it filled my heart with joy.

They are adorable, wish they would stay that little
They are serious nurturers..very attentive and on-guard with their cubbies..we can learn some parenting from them and the elephants..
So glad this lil baby has recovered and is back were she belongs with her mother, well done to all concerned more plz :-)
cutest thing ever
So precious! And the way the 2 kids ate playing in adorable!
Fabulous! I'm amazed the mother didn't reject her, as mum didn't get a chance to have a natural birth and smell the baby after the C Section.
Beautiful animals.
I can see the mother smiling
Thank you so much. Love is everything.
I love how mama inspects her as she breastfeeds
God bless you

Very good mummy carry her baby so sweet thank you for sharing Bless all of them ,
Great story...Happy ending!
I wish the baby were born free though. These animals are so similar to humans, I just don't see how people can live with themselves keeping them imprisoned like this. They are innocent beings.
Kaiser Frost If they were in the wild, they both would have died.
@Timothy O'Mara they are prisons. These animals and their ancestors will never know freedom, and when the economy dictates it, they will be extinct.
@Timothy O'Mara they don't conserve a single thing. Zero zoo animals have ever been released back into the wild.
@Timothy O'Mara like what species?
Glad the baby survived. C-sections do cause lung infections because the baby isn't squeezed on the way out of lung fluid. That's why they should NOT be done as a convenience.
Saw the baby when I went to the San Diego zoo
1:07 Dad looks ANGRY. I bet he's mean!!! A Beast!!!
Where was the emotional reunion, I’m giving a dislike for click bait
The word "exhibit" is everything I hate about zoos.
because its exhibit.
they can go back to their enclosure whenever they want.
@@spatrk6634 Congratulations on entirely missing the point.
@@spatrk6634 "Enclosure" is the other thing I hate about zoos. And the fact that if I were ever to go to one (I won't) I'd run into someone like you there. A complete & total moron.
@@deenibeeniable who cares what you hate.
you are complete ignoramus
@@spatrk6634 Apparently you do. But keep supporting zoos, you tool. Animals are not here for our entertainment.
Looking at this video made me realize how *ugly* I am!!!!!
Sweet

I don't see any reunion. Misleading headline.
thats great.i was worried.
Pure love 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Call her cuddles
Wow can't say that they don't love to love!! 😁😂
Cute.
We should be ASHAMED of how we treat these magnificent creatures! Cage them in circuses & zoos. Many are trapped in nasty roadside exhibits. We separate them from their troops, their mothers, their children, & so many live & die in captivity. We don't have the right to interfere with them!
absolutely agree.
It's a tough call, the baby would have died without human intervention and as you see mom & baby are doing ok.😗
Diana A: I agree-- people suck. Having said that, some zoos are more of a refruge in the storm of poachers and disease and loss of habitat.
Yea some zoos are good. Most are not. If zoos really cared, they wouldn't shove them in tiny little cages. I have been to zoos where cheetahs are pacing back and forth because they have no room to move
Diana A. I absolutely agree completely
Is this the mom they painted her nails pink after her c section so she wouldn’t pick at her incision?
AWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Protèger ces animaux dans leur milieu naturel et non dans les zoos
Awwwww
why the zoo allowed having them so many babies ???
They should let the first born to reach at least 3-4 years before next one. Their kids are just like ours and seek moms attention for longer periods...
They also get jealous of baby due to lack of attention from mom...
How about Miracle for a name!!!!
That baby needs to put those Newports down
Anyone know how the mom was able to nurse her baby after being separated from birth? I was surprised to see her nursing her little one. It doesn't take a human mom long for her milk to dry up after initially becoming painfully engorged. If anyone knows how the zoo handled that problem, please let me know.
JudesJewels I always wonder the same thing!
🐵🐵😍😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤
Laid back mama
The alternative is for there habitat to dissappear or to be hunted by hunters wot would u prefer diane

Oh happy day when non-human animals are no longer imprisoned by human animals.
indeed
Amen to that

Such a lovely story. However, allow Zoo staff to narrate. I think it is very poor choice. When you employ people to narrate, who have the most boring voices/lacking in empathy. Quite Frankly, they should find another avenue for whatever talent, they think they have. This is NOT IT!
Jo O Reilly well said, I want to see animals not some zoo employee yapping away.
A cute name for the baby would be Chlamydia Covidia Corona Estrus... don't you think?
After this video, the baby gorilla died from her mom sitting on her
Jesus.
No she didn't.
