Thanks CR for advocating better safety over many years! Kudos to Toyota, Honda, and Subaru for pushing their safety systems into (almost) all their cars.
I'm assuming this guy is playing a part and is a bad actor. But, this seems like an episode of Sesame Street rather than a guide for adults who are in the market for new cars.
The banner was for Forward Collision Warning, not automatic braking. Not all cars that have FCW have AEB. I realized this when I bought my 2015 Sonata.
I'm wondering about the automatic emergency breaking. If there is something in front of you and your vehicle decides to hit breaks, can the vehicle flip? What about the other vehicles behind you?
I have honda sensing in my 2019 Honda ridgeline (check my channel) its garbage. The lane keep assist barely works unless it's in an straight clear road. The auto breaking warning light comes on when it doesnt need to such as when no cars are around and more.
The whole tone of this program is condescending and, sorry, lame. I DVR'ed the whole show once from the OTA broadcast, which is Saturday morning in my time zone -- and it was unwatchable. I assumed that the content was for children based on the time slot. But with the promotion in the magazine and here on RUclips pitching it to adults, CR needs to rethink the approach. The presentation of the material is hokey, self-referential (a particular problem with the Colchester "personalities" who've had a modicum of podcasting success and let it go to their heads) and just plain uninformative. It's as if CR thinks everyone is a know-nothing. This content -- and increasingly the content coming out of Colchester -- disrespects viewers/streamers as being "idiot consumers" whom CR must "educate." It's just plain condescending. And it's a side effect of the long-term echo chamber CR operates in. For years after most other media outlets made their journalists available via email, CR alone persisted in not doing so. For decades, CR's ivory tour was impenetrable as it ignored the online revolution. Even today, there's no really effective input channel to CR besides RUclips comments it will never see or respond to. We just have the you-can't-stop-watching-despite-yourself display of CR's unfortunate tendency to eat its own dog food and to be outrageously self-congratulatory. Bottom line: CR doesn't know how inauthentic it sounds because it's institutionally unable to listen to its subscribers and members. The result is drivel like this.
VW Brake Assist keeps slamming my brakes on.... law suit against VW. My van kept slamming my brakes on when not required. My VW Stop/Start kept failing to restart my Van. Left me 3rd lane out on the motorway not being able to restart my van😳 Stop me now swapping a new vehicle every 4 years now. Won’t buy new again!
That back up camera and the blind spot monitor is fantastic addition

Toyota hasn't, what are you talking about? Blind spot monitor is optional

Can you do one on which cars in each category has the most standard safety features and which cars have them as options

Interesting - but please can the amateur dramatics
Forward Collision Warning
Automatic Emergency Braking
Backup or Rearview Camera
Electronic Stability Control
Blind spot monitor and adaptive cruise control are also pretty important
Good and funny.😂😂😂
Hii 😅
Also a safety feature if you have an accident in the road selfcall ambulance/police in case of a crash informing of location.

20 years challenge
Thank you for this video! It helped me in my PowerPoint presentation!
would you show me you're presentation please?
Great video, except for the totally lame ending and attempt at humor! The one in consumer reports doesn’t get it right is humor!
I would think car makers would be very willing to add as much safety as possible because safety sells.
No they'd rather sell those features as optional package for $$$
Yeah, it sells..for more money...on an optional package
Why didn't he at least get some salad for the guy who lost his salad at the end 🙉🙊🙈😂
Awesome informative video for sure ✌🏼😉

The driver braking assist feature is not new. Our 2010 Lexus had it. Today’s version is much better but not new.
I think we need something Ai to recognize animals on the road, like a cat or dog.
C. O. R. N. Y.....I saw that joke coming
My car 10 years old does not have a lot of these features.
i need AEB
I don't know what's worse about Consumer 101, the overly cheery host or the condescending script.
