thank you for all these great videos David! but please don't risk too much just for content! we all appreciate it, we just don't want something to happen to you! stay safe!
I will be doing less risky content as well.
I miss Colombia, everyone's so engaging, interested, open and communicative. There's just another warmth with these people.
Thank you for the video David! Im glad you showed the watch sellers area. They pass the vibe test for sure
Thank God Carlos went with you. I always try to avoid that area when I go to Medellín.
I walked into the break room at work the other day and one of my coworkers was watching A&E. I looked up and said, “Hey I know that guy!”. David was on tv catching criminals.
Haha did they believe you?
El David is muy famoso these days🎉👏🏼👏🏼
@ not at first, but I pulled up your YT channel on my phone and showed them all the videos I had watched. Maybe they'll start watching you too man.
David is getting more famous with his TV Shows!! Congrats, and don't forget us
Carlos a good guy! Very eye opening especially the guys eating the meals for $0.50. I've seen cheap prices in El Centro but never that cheap! The Colombian spirit is very resilient
I’ve been watching you Colombian videos for a while and I’ve gone because of you Colombia is amazing
that's interesting the thing about shorts that you pointed out. i could see that they were tourist but when i started to look around NO ONE is wearing shorts except tourists. that's a good thing to know and remember for anyone wanting to travel to medellin. strange but important detail.
That's a great video David. I walked those same areas. I also went beyond that park area to some really quiet and beautiful parts, where the old buildings were beautiful.
The thing about downtown is there are some people that just simply do not like being photographed or filmed, and there are some areas that are best avoided as you know.
Hey David. Great video! Come back and do a Sabaneta video. The place is growing really fast. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼
Thanks for the sharing your experiences with Medellin. We just took the Metro to Parque Berrio. After exploring that area we followed your route to Parque de Bolívar and Basilica Metopolitana. Thanks for all your advice and areas to watch out for. Medellin has been breathtaking. We've tried to not "standout". All I can say is we've managed to "standout" less than others - and maintain situational awareness. Again, thanks for all the advice.
Another great tour and video David!
Another stellar video. Nice to see a real reaction of the streets instead of the overly sensationalized "hood" tours thats cliche.
Great Medellin content!!!!! I want your channel to channel tremendously and seing your content from all over the world!!!
I was one of the first 500 subscribers. Hello from the Arctic, David.
Hey David,
I was there for a week, walking around the downtown statues and stayed few blocks up on the tramway line. There was no danger, of course I was there during the day.
Granted it was very very noisy, some businesses sell their badics goods (shampoo etc) through bars!😂
David back again with medellin content do more livestreams gang
Glad to watch another of your Vids..i tvl mostly to Cartagena, but will visit Medellin..Good Vid David..must be hard for you keeping fit with all the good food in Colombia.Peace bro😀😀😀😀
That mural behind the glass under what looks like golden light looks fascinating. I’m going to see about finding more info about in on the internet. Thanks for your walks around all these interesting areas and people.
24:07 is that what you’re talking about? and did you ever find it?
Gracias David!!
Another great video. ❤
Hi David, great seeing your videos, i am been to Medellin, a couple times, and have been to the area
I've been watching your travel vids for a few years now. Ones like this I like alot. Helps to know where to visit and also shows the people!!
Also what is the name of the TV show your on? Would like to check it out. Thanks...
I really in love with the hustle and bustle culture of your city. Interesting place. Just going for a walk keeps your curiosity entertained. Whoa! Simon Bolivar is such a prominent historical figure in South America TIL! Imagine if Spain kept its hold on its colonies in the Americas.
that's one of the reasons I love it here
David living the Life!!
your new camera is great!
I love your content . Respectful and modest .
Columbia has the coolest vibe next to Montreal ! Just something below the surface that is hard to describe. Calm friendly easy going . I know their is an element of danger just like the big cities of North America .
In N.A We have extreme drug problems, mentality ill on the streets and organized groups committing serious robberies.
Just depends what pockets you are in and your lifestyle which leads you or helps you avoid these pitfalls.
To anybody watching this who doesn't know, camera in hand or not, never walk between Prada and Parque Barrío , unless you absolutely have to! There is always eyes on you in Medellin , especially as a foreigner. The Medellin metro is always your safest bet!
i did it a bunch before i knew better and learned my way around haha
Wow, David, i am really enjoying this video, i walked the area, many times alone, but doesn't know about the history,
great video have been through those areas not knowing all the dangers but most people just say avoid el centro, but there is so much there. on the top floor of the beer restuant is a peruvian resturant recotto the food was good.
Also closed Monday is Metro cable: Santo Domingo to Arvi. Exceptions on holidays.
I hope you had a good date David. Really good video. The shopping area is a lot like the some of the big cities in England. Most of the smaller towns have few shops/stores. Most people in England use supermarkets or buy online. A lot of stores stated closing down at the end of the 1990s.
Don't get in trouble with the local Mafia of local gang bosses just to make a video. Be safe.
I like how street smart you are. I guess the longer you like in Colombia the more you get used to your surroundings.
Take care. Scott
Wow, i should have been in Medellin at this moment, but fell sick and had to cancelled my flight on Thursday....will be there soon...
Thank you for locating the Teatro Pablo Tobon Uribe
I don’t know what the video quality is, but I would feel better if you would shop for a motion stabilized body cam. If you get hurt I’m going to feel guilty supporting your channel.
This was a great video David! thanks!
Whats this talk about you on TV catching criminals? Let me know where I can watch plz =)
thanks. It's on A&E thursday 10pm ET Fugitive hunters mexico
@LifewithDavid Guess thats a channel in the U.S ? I live in Sweden sadly 🙏😀 thanks
Go take a walk around Plazuela Francisco Antonio Zea not far from Plaza Minorista if you want dangerous :-)
If you get robbed on the weekend in Poblado, you might find it there on Monday.
the heat gets to me sometimes as well, at least in la america where it's always hotter than places like poblado. and i lived on the east coast and in the southeast for the majority of my life. i just stay indoors between like 11-2
Love your show on TV
You have to try chechos in Las Americas..not fancy at all but great food and cheap.
When you arrive this late to a flea market, many vendors are leaving.
Have you tried Jamaiquita in Laureles? Great jamicain food the oxtail and wings are fire.
Not yet!
I will be back in Medellín February 15. Let me take you to lunch we can go to the Jamaican restaurant
David, i like to watch the older folks dancing in Parque Berrio, how safe is it?? because i do record
I avoid eating hot dogs and most carbohydrates. Very economical High quality food at the two cafeterias I cited in earlier comment below.
I love it. Always with the "replicas" there.
Hey David, I advise against drinking coffee in those plastic or styrofoam cups. The microplastics liberated from the hot temperatures will mess with your hormones bigtime. Cheers.
David, what was the name of the brewery restaurant in Poblado....??
Estou com saudades da craft beer de Medellín
Even I, being from Medellin, try to avoid those areas since they are the most dangerous part of Medellin. The vast majority of crimes committed in Medellin are committed in that area. That doesn't mean that every time you go you will be robbed, but if you go several times, sooner or later it will happen to you.
Very true
I know its risky, but i sneak my phone out to record, thks for a more detail look inside the market....
I did not enjoy eating the big ass ants. Tastes to me like a stale corn nut. Great content, David keep it up.
33:40 where can we watch this Mexican show you were in?
what kind of camera do you use?
Where’s the place for gym shorts and gym shirts for cheap? I walk around that area all the time to eat at my favorite taco shop!
What's, your camera set up that you use ?
I don't understand with all the technology why not purchase a hidden camera set up? Even the shade glasses cameras for 200 you get a pair that are incredible and hard to spot
With a handheld camera, you can point the camera in whichever direction you want to film. You will have better image quality and audio quality and also longer filming duration.
@spirittravels. I mean I understand that but I feel like you'll get more footage and less threats in certain areas and when you clear those areas then you pick up the camera again
This is the place NO TOURIST should enter. Expect your stuff to be sold the next week. He was lucky no one snatched his phone
Hey David, great content. I think we're neighbors. Holler and let's do a barrio stomp.
Man, good insight, i actually got a haircut for 12mil
The best fish in town right off station San Antonio
15:06 Carlos: "Because it is not the best meat"........aka be prepared to spend some time in the bathroom as you will be spending $5.00 on toilet paper but hey you had lunch for 50 cents so theres that.
The legendary David !! .. I should come to Colombia alone, is it dangerous?
No. I have a good cab driver is you do. My Spanish speaking American friends have gotten in trouble here due to over confidence. Stay in El Poblado Sandiego, Laurels if you do. Don't get drunk in public and don't have women in your hotel unless their ID's are recorded at the desk.
Please don't be sex & drugs Gringo.
@@gregstephens2339 If you go through all that just to breath the air pollution Medellin, you might choose some other destination.
@@gregstephens2339 99% of them are the last 4 words of your paragraph.
short answer YES! (disclaimer* .. David looks Latino and knows how to move do not be deceived by this, as a foreigner it's a complete different story for you).
Never assume you are not being watched or you're perfectly OK or you just happened to meet your new best friend or girlfriend coincidentally..... I lived in Medellin for 2 years (2021-23) NOT in gring- Landia a.k.a. Poblado but in the north of the city. . My wife is "Paisa" from Medellin , and even she and many of my Colombian friends and in-laws will definitely tell you do not go out alone in the city. Unfortunately there's enough unsavoury characters just looking for that opportunity, and tourists are very obvious there and are definitely the biggest targets. There is no honour amongst thieves they are quite happy to rob their own countrymen as well but tourists are definitely the biggest and easiest targets for them.. BEWARE!
Don't go to stupid places, with stupid people , at stupid times of the day.
First time in colombia few days ago accidentaly went out in prado instead of parque berrio, i knew somethings wrong asked a chica in the shop where plaza botero is. She showed me the other direction haha went there but my spider senses activated cuz i felt somethings wrong. Went to the public toilet and chexked the gps then went through the black market walking to plaza botero. Didnt feel in danger but didnt feel comftourble at all, sketchy people bad smell. Glad im good haha
4:37 you see the shop behind, dont know what was her intention though but it scared me a little bit.
The Covid train 😂😂😂
A tour guide told me that prado was a good area to practice my Spanish so I went there and tried filming some interactions and some dodgy guy with tattoos told me I can’t film there and that I had to pay him 😆
Your tour guide did you wrong. It is super dangerous there, especially with a camera.
do the police patrol these areas?
the police "patrol" the area, but they certainly concentrate their efforts in tourist areas
Cerveza artesanal = craft beer
Dude the pile of prescription drugs is bonkers
it shocked me too. haha
All those dudes look like they're on speed & sketchy as F
I carry Only: enough pesos for the day, a laminated color copy of my passport ID page, and a cheap Nokia cellphone. And under my shirt, Metro card in neck wallet.
This is why i laugh at foreigners especially Americans. When they state they know how to move 😂😂 It’s one of the most egoísta and idiot statements i have ever heard. Dave states it best he had to live in Medellin for 8 years and have local paisa friends to learn the ropes. However keep in mind Medellín does not reflect the entire Colombia.
Are you using AI to translate or are you translating?
he is fluent in Spanish and has lived in Medellin for a long time
@@fmdataanalyst understood parce. I was asking if he was using AI to translate or was he doing it. Speaking a different language and translating/interpreting are two very different things.
Prado was dangerous? Haha I guess im an idiot I was walking all over there with no idea
Prefer your walking videos of parks, and museums. ? Estadio Olympica Complex; or Glamping to milk Holstein cows. Economical very good quality lunch Cafeterias: upstairs in Exito Colombia, or adjacent to pools entrance at Estadio Olympica complex. Enjoy the outstanding air quality in Parque Arvi ; having a picnic in Arvi at Puente de Madera & SERVICIOS PÚBLICOS. !!!
And here is all the second hand stuff and third hand stuff and stolen stuff JAJAJA
