Hi Keith, I'm a carpet fitter in Ireland, I would never get away with that way of fitting here, we always use gripper,(short pin), double sided tape on the tread edges and never use electric staple gun unless every stair is being bull nosed, different countries fit different ways I spouse, anyway not a hater just letting you know how we do things over yonder, keep up the good work and don't staple your finger👍👍

Very good explanation. Gives me some confidence to try it. It would have been helpful if there were a close up shot showing exactly where the staples are, such as how far from the cut edge, and what angle, and whether they are going into the riser or into the underside of the tread below the bullnose. Also the size of the staples to use. For those of us who have never used a staple gun before, that would be good to know.

Hi there I live in a 2nd floor flat but has a spiral staircase literally about 6 steps, then goes to a square landing thrn more steps going down but has about 5 funny shaped spiral sections more than what you have done in video... I've used staples but this shows everywhere when I have put carpet tiles down not carpet. Is there any easy way to do the curviture sections using carpet tiles.

My staircase is in a U shape type, so the angles are bigger, i fitted the straight bits but i'm stuch with the curved steps

so I have a curved staircase with a stair width of 40" the step is 10" on the narrow end 14" on the wide and the riser is around 7" Can you please help me on the amount each carpet square should be per stair and also the angle cut I need to do ? thank you :)

Sabrina Fisher the angle cut will depend on the curve! But inch1/2 is a good start ....just plus or minus depending on the curve😀as far as carpet, usually allocate for curved stairs 26 inches. Standard runners ...are 28 inch wide to 32 inch wide ..just depends on how much wood you want showing on each side!!! So if I was doing this runner at 30 inch wide I would allocate 30 inch wide by 26 long! Just check you longest measurement and you should be ok!!!! Send me a picture of your staircase and it will be easier for me to judge😀😀😀😀😀

    Great, I have question.
How do you get the measures?

Keith can you show if you put carpet on turns without taking the inch cut off how much the carpet would run of the bound edges
