    Noice haul considering you were not expecting any real finds, just goes to show what I keep telling bleepers, you sweep in arcs that touch one end giving a z pattern and you miss almost as much as you sweep, so there will be finds for years , unless meminer and daisy have been there first
    I didn't know my eyes were so shiny, no one ever caught me before.

    I think someone before you had interest in that rock and gave up on it because it was so big. I was fooled by the big rock too. I thought for sure it had silver. Oh well.

      I agree and it sat there beside his hole for a while. Nobody else took it because it was hidden in the forest.

    Very neat adventure, I take it the silver nuggets or mostly silver show a higher number on your metal detector?

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  Год назад +1

      It is a bit complicated. With the NOX, smaller targets (especially small pieces of leaf silver) have lower numbers. With metals, iron and cobalt are low. Silver mid range and nickel is high. Larger targets are generally high (ish). Mix of metals (nothing is pure) or nearby mineralization or junk change the numbers too.

    Does silver pan like gold? Your saw water well must be loaded with silver powder. Also the water you tumble rocks with.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  Год назад +1

      It isn't as heavy as gold, but can be panned.

    I have a million dollar question for ya. The reason why it's a million dollar question is because I have not found any one that can tell me what kind of rock I have. Not even a geology professor at a college can tell me what it is. I live in Pennsylvania across lake Erie from Canada. I found this rock while metal detecting. It had a lot of calcite on it and I removed it with apple cider vinegar. I was left with this amazing cool kind of rock that has this silver metal in it. It's not in veins and it doesn't look like silver ore does. It has a doll look to it until you catch it and then it's a shiny silver looking. This is not a hard rock like silver ore. This is the only time I've ever seen a rock like this. The way the silver looking metal is in this rock is a lot like gold does but not into a vein form. The college geology professor said he's never seen anything like it and that we don't have this kind of rock here in Pennsylvania. He thinks that it might have came from Canada by way of glacier. For the size of this rock ( about a golf ball size ) it weighs 70.23 grams. The silver metal is hard. Do you have any clue what I have or might have? If need be, I can send pics. It comes up on the metal detector in the gold range and not silver range. I've watched many of your videos hoping to see a rock like this but nothing yet. Oh and this rock doesn't have a smooth side anywhere.

    • @SassSafras
      @SassSafras Год назад +1

      Really can't tell unless u do some testing I would say. I'm close to you geologically speaking, and we have things scattered about that aren't native to the area. When the glaciers came down they deposited a lot of material scoured from Canada's surface. If your ever up by superior you'll see idk 40+ types of stone not native to the area. Canadian shield accounts for a lot of it in the great lakes. There are a lot of metallic looking minerals, and ore. The dull Grey ones I can think of right this second you may be finding would be things like lead ore (antimony) nickel, galena, chalcopyrite, hematite ect. There's a lot of things it could be. If you know how to come to specific gravity n hardness, would make identifying a little easier.

      Could also be molybdenum or zinc.

      @@SassSafras I can rule some of them that you mentioned out. I know most of them. You're right about lake superior. I follow flower gold wizard and he goes there for the beach gold and yooperlites and other stones. Thanks for the help. The rock itself, the parts that are not a metal look like bone or tooth with a shiny glaze.

      I especially like checking my hole and between big rocks with a pinpointer, where a detector's coil won't fit.
