I have both. the faders and potential for control is way more thorough on the S1. the 32SX is flexible as a console, daw control, and interface. if you only want the daw control aspect, go with the S1
I've got the Series III 16 and have upgraded to Pro Tools 2019.5.0. While I do get fader automation and almost complete transport control (no RTZ), none of the other controls functions per the video. I had better control of automation and transport control with Pro Tools 10 with the Faderport 8. My most pressing needs are to be able to control record enable, mute, pan, transport (RTZ) and automation modes. I'd love to speak with or email Richard to learn what I've missed. I've been doing this a long time but ESOP still runs in my veins... Pro Tools 2019.5.0, Mac Pro, Mid 2010, High Sierra 10.13.6, 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon, 32GB 1066MHz DDR3 RAM.
Hey I followed the directions and it works great!!!!!! great video. I do have one issue, when using plugins I can't hear lets say my autotune plugin during the recording for my artist. How can I fix that? I hear it only during playback. Hope to hear from you, I just purchased this board and would like to continue using it in the recording studio.
Studio live 3 series is nice. But it would be nice for us cs18ai owners to have 3rd party Hui mode. I wish presonus would create a 3rd party adapter to sell to use this to its full potential that was promised. I would be willing to buy the upgrade to have Hui support. Well I think any cs18ai owner would buy the Hui support if presonus would deliver.
Hello, when I start my session I get the following message "The properties of the ASIO device have been modified by the control panel of the device. For these changes to take effect, Pro Tolls must be restarted. Restart Protools"; What do I do? I can't work continuously, I appreciate any suggestions, I work with a presonus 32 studiolive.
Dude most of the time you have to restart for most things to take effect...come on bro,if you've been dealing with computers period..you should know that.
Presonus please create a controller conversion firmware box or firmware update for us cs18ai owners who were abandoned. I am ok without avb recording. But having Hui support for pro tools or propellerhead reason 10 would be nice
While this vid explains the very bare minimum to start to use the mixer in pro tools, it then goes on to blow smoke on esoteric functions from some marketer's perspective. Actually using this mixer in pro tools is frustrating and counterintuitive. I am about to return this mixer as the documentation sucks and every time I try to use it I spend most my time chasing online forum answers to basic questions. Do not buy this mixer if you want to use it with pro tools.

@@skymalctphello yes I agree. I wanted a faderport 16 until I seen the cs18ai . I figured that was a great deal. Plus it works for studio one 4 . I don't know why some people can't get the cs18ai connected it took me 10 minutes to get it set up with 4 pro
@@skymalctphello I don't think presonus lied. I believe the focus was on avb. I believe if it is a control surface. They should have focused on 3rd party support and a mapping software. Not avb. It only goes to 44khz. I believe. Presonus has interfaces like the 1810 on up that has higher resolution recording I would use that instead.
It is not quite mapped to act as a surface for PT as it is for StudioOne for sure, but a start. Kind of a round about way with same functions as a FaderPort? I do like the Series III though. Keep on it PreSonus.

Hello everybody. Finally I decided to move into protools due terms of my job (Some mixes and mastering). I been using the console as a surface control without problems in Studio One 4 Professional through DAW mode with StudioOne UCNET config. Also in Reason, Ableton Live and Logic with Mackie Control protocole without problems ever. But now I'm running Pro Tools 2020.5.0 Version in a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019) with a 3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, and when I tried to use the console as a control surface through HUI mode, the protools software doesn't recognize it as a control surface in the peripherals MIDI controllers tab setup. Shows none device is connected to MIDI network. At the Universal Control UCNET setup everything looks to be ok. MIDI is recognized in the preferences MIDI network, in the preferences windows, the console is shown as an online device. By he way, the console's IP address match with the current address in the UC software. Please help i need to fix this and I don't know what is happening. Thanks!!
i just talked to people at PreSonus they said it hasn't dropped yet for Pro tools but since the higher ups put out this video it should be dropping in days or a couple of weeks
I bought this board and none of this works for me. I had to install the universal control it does not recognize the board the board will not top with pro tools it has been nothing but a nightmare. Have been going back and forth with Presonus for months not weeks or days. And it's still not working. It sure looks easy in this video but is not my reality.

Today after a few days working with one of their reps got it working by doing the following: Roll back you version of Universal Control to v3.1.2.54970 Run the uninstaller first and then run the installer. I am about to return my purchase for that very reason. This thing sucks to use with pro tools, nothing is intuitive and the documentation is terrible. I even found an hours-long tutorial that I paid money for and it still frustrates me every time I try to use it.

This really is a very deep Daw integration.... possibly a little too far with some of the editing stuff but I guess people like them. Pretty well done. Did I miss a fader flip button though... sure it’s there... still lookin’

In my protools there is no ucnet in the box receive from and send to. any help would be nice.

I had the same thing. Downloaded UC net. Then everything showed in Audio Midi setup as 64 usb i/o (correctly). Hope this helps.

If presonus would enable the Hui mode I would love to use it or if they give us a Hui extender to map the cs18ai that would be nice
