For the girl in the story, yes there's time, social media helps. But is it important? I never had gay friends growing up. Her future partner may not be from LGBTQ. My partner only dated men until she met me. We've been together for 36yrs. All our friends are hetero and they love us. Still no gay friends. Important to build inner strength and self confidence. Live brave and just be Urself .Don't be in the closet for too long as U will regret it later and U would've miss the Best part of you. Good luck.
