- A Really Good Motor!
Back around this time last year, I attended Fenland BusFest - Formerly Eastern Bus Enthusiasts' flagship event of the year, Hosted in the heart of the fens (Specifically, in Whittlesey). It's an event that was celebrating 12 years of running each year, although due to lack of interest and clashing with several other major events, was cancelled in 2024, and likely isn't returning, which is a huge shame.
Anyway, one of the highlights of the day, was a motor that used to be close to home - This 1989 Alexander AL Leyland Olympian, that once belonged to Helms of Eastham. It was new to Hedingham And Chambers, Later passing to Johnson Bros and Helms Of Eastham, before being purchased in 2022 for preservation - Being restored to it's original colours in 2023.
Enjoy some epic kickdown and thrash, through the fens.

Brilliant video kieran
Thanks Corey!
Wow I didn't know Stagecoach operated that Olympian (can see the Stagecoach moquette). Sounds healthy for almost 35 years old!
It wasn't ever operated by them as far as I'm aware, it's likely that the interior was re moquetted using whatever Helms had at the time - Since they operated a lot of old Stagecoach stuff, it makes sense!
