Hello all from a sunny fairyland ☀️🐝

Thank you from America. I’m a single Dad who absolutely loves your message. Pure. Clean. Wholesome. The same message my Grandmother gave me, many years ago. Quality over quantity!
Thanks beloved 💓 i wonder if u heard about EM effective microorganisms from Dr Higa. He and japanese Dr Emoto ( he made this incredible research about water cristals) they work on projects 4 cleaning water with EM and much more!
They are very good 4 gardening, animals, 🏠, cleaning....

Hello..there,
This comes at such perfect timing.
Thank you ... 🕊🌤🌼
*my moto learned from a Wise Women -" less is Best...";)*
I also think we don’t spend enough time talking to our parents, Grandparents, aunts, Uncles etc… about how things used to be for them, advice they can give how they feel about how the world has changed. We think after they may be gone why didn’t I do that with them?? So for those of you who can still do that I encourage you to take the time:))))) Love your channel, it always relaxes me!! 😊🌻
Excellent comment! I whole heartedly agree!
You are so right 💚🤗
@@shefalisharma9422 pretty sad new generations reject family concept, due to TV manipulation, take a look at the Simpson , older characters are portrait as stupid, non sense and even ridiculous people, viwers get that imoression so they assume it is true.
I agree also. The comments here are all what wanted to say!
So true Denise!
I have a little flat/apt and just enough for daily living. A few pots of herbs is the best I can do. A chair in the sunshine and potted flowers. Relationships mean more now than things. I have a little tent and I go camping to be close to nature. At 69 its an effort but its what I love and its simple.
Sweet
I have a couple pots of herbs, one of strawberries 🍓 , 2 of peppers and 1 tomato 🍅.

The first thing I did when I retired was sell my house and move to the country. I have a one acre one woman homestead, no animals. Just honey bees because I am madly in love with them. This place is a wonder. It backs onto the woods and has wild berries, wild oregano, thyme as ground cover and beautiful flowers all over. And of course my gardens. I just put in an orchard. It is a bit of work, but so satisfying and very peaceful. You are right to appreciate whatever the harvest brings. Have a wonderful day! ☮️💕
Lovely video and I adore the grass bouquet you created for your table. You quoted "we're too poor to buy cheap" but I also love the Ralph Lauren quote "simplicity is the ultimate luxury." A simple, quality life is clearly underrated.
I love that quote!
"or how busy we are" OW my HEART. i've been an artist in los angeles and wrapped up in hustle culture. it wasn't until last year when i started going thru treatment for c-ptsd that i really woke up to just how tragic that aspect of my culture is. thank you for these videos every week. they're really complimentary to my healing process.
(and i have since left the city, converted a tiny bus into a cozy cottage on wheels, and am slowly exploring, looking for somewhere to start a homestead)
Some of my happiest moments are watching a chipmunk discover a peanut or cuddling with a kitty- as years pass my life has become much less about "things" and more about "moments" thanks so much for your beautiful vlogs- i so look forward to them!
My dad always told me: remember this, as long as you live: you’re too poor to afford buying cheap things… I miss you daddy, RIP 02/26/2021
I'm really sorry for your loss.RIP
May God grant you patience and peace to the departed soul.....
Wise words your father gave you. I still miss my daddy too, though it's been far longer since he's been gone than yours. I pray you will grow to smile more each passing day as you remember your daddy. Diane

Quality over quantity. The reason I moved to Maine. Happy Independence Day America🇺🇲🥳
Great state!
I wasn’t born in Maine but got here as soon as I could.
Are you opening a bakery?
And to you too!🤗🐝❤️
@Hilltop Homestead Same lol What part of Jersey?
The older I get, the less I’m now finding the need for “more”. I had slowly started going in this direction already but this last year with the pandemic, well it’s sped things up. I need less and I choose quality over quantity. I got rid of a lot of things that no longer served me, no longer felt important or had out lived their use. Like you, I always wanted the latest brand name fashions, higher end jewelry (not fine jewelry-still was out of my budget), expensive handbags, the latest in home decor. But after donating many items and bags of clothing (which no longer fit), I realized just how much money I had spent. Don’t get me wrong, I still love nice things. But these days, I’ll thrift for preowned items of quality; be it clothing or furniture. I got rid of kitchen/home items that I had to have once upon a time. Now, I use things that belonged to my grandmother and great-grandmother! The are still useful and in far better condition than what I had purchased at the high end kitchen/home stores. (Most are from the 30’s-50’s). I have repainted some of their old furniture, which is far superior in quality and is better looking than the furniture I purchased a few years ago that is already falling apart.
Likewise with friendships. Sure, I’m still friendly with people. But I’ve taken a step back from certain ones that are superficial and kept close to the few that will be there for me on my bad days as well as good. The ones that despite what they are going through, they still have time to listen to me about what I’m going through. And I’m there for them in return. I once had a “friend” that said she didn’t have room I her life for any negativity and didn’t need to hear it. That she only wanted happy, positive people in her life. Well, don’t we all? But that’s just not realistic nor is that a good friendship; particularly when it was ok for her to vent about her latest problems. Everyone has problems; some worse than others; but they are still important to the person going through them. I’m not talking about toxic friends; just to be clear. Rather these are more self-centered individuals. My circle is smaller, but my friendships are richer. My lifestyle is richer, yet it has less. I feel better about myself as a person of higher quality all the way around. (Sorry for the long comment...my thoughts took off on me ☺️)
Have a good week!
Great Melissa
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! So true. Real friendships are able to handle to good and bad days. Anyone can be friends with someone when they are having a good day but you really are true friendship on the bad days.
Me too I used to want the perfect home with the perfect decor. Now I just want to be happy.
Toxic positivity is a thing. Every person goes through hard times, and to be invalidated by a “friend” who refuses to stand by you in your dark moments is worse than not having a friend at all. Those “good vibes only” people are best avoided. 💚
@@saraht6562 the good vibes people are the first to lose the fake positivity when adversity rolls in!
Every Sunday, I start my day with you and my coffee. It is my treat and a reminder that my dream to return to country life is so close I can almost touch it. Thank you!
Striving to have more "things" comes from a poverty of spirit. And it just creates more inner poverty. When my girls were growing up I first heard the word abundance being used from the perspective of spirit. That there is more than enough for all if we live respectfully and mind fully. Minimalism to me is less about what my home looks like, but more about living with a sense that I have everything I need. Both within and without. I loved your video!
I love those Karen. So so true... true abundance is knowing you have more than enough and don’t need more ‘things’
I prefer to have quality,in fact I find it distressing having things I don’t use or need. My dad bought my mum a pair of warm boots after they were married and they lasted 40 years! Some of our veg hasn’t grown this year because of all the rain we’ve had and not much sun but what we have tastes delicious…so I’m happy with that. 😊🇬🇧
I love that! So special 💕
@@pastelle yes that’s exactly it…I’m constantly clearing items, in fact I sell a lot on eBay 😁
Something I have always told people who say they want a 'simple life in the country' is 'simple doesn't mean easy'. While I don't run myself ragged doing simple things, I understand that growing vegetables and baking bread takes effort. Many people are not willing to put in the work that allows them to live simply. Good video.
That’s so true. Not everyone wants to put in the effort... it’s too much for them. I find it rewarding but I suppose it’s different for others.
@Mama Said No I absolutely, and utterly agree with every single word you said. People just assume that 'simple' implies easy, when in actual fact it is often the other way round.
My daughter-in-law gave me a memory book to complete with my experiences, old photos and funny stories about how I and then my children had grown up. My grandchildren love it! Now they can read for themselves these experiences. They love hearing about the mischief their dad got into! He is a tall, take control guy who always does the right thing. His little kids love hearing when he was little and impish.
That’s such a wonderful thing to do Janet. I’d love to hear more about my parents when they were young. So much fun and happy memories to revisit.
I think we often associate quality over quantity with things like clothing and Tupperware so I absolutely love that you mentioned friends.
Quality over quantity is something we should all strive for in every area of our lives😌
Check out Green Renaissance. It's all about quality of life and so inspirational. Cheers
I love Green Renaissance ❤️
So lovely to view your video again🙏🏼🤗💜❣️When I was growing up my mom could pinch a penny with the best of them… she was a good example of living frugally… I believe there is a better way to not rob yourself of the much finer ways and things of life, buy quality… my mother could afford to buy a few fine things than to purchase such cheap things she had to buy a great number of cheap things when a few fine quality things would last longer and be cheaper in the long run🤗💚🍀💚💜…Quality Over Quantity Always🥰❣️
I agree with you that trying to keep up with fashion trends is not only bad for the environment but also our pocket book. I too find trends to lack the modesty and class that I prefer. When I get a longing for something new I thrift shop! I love your meal ideas!
Thrift shopping is the best.
I really enjoyed your little monologue. I completely agree with you about quality over Quantity.
I realized yesterday that it is already July and I have not sat at the patio table and enjoyed a cup of tea and listened to the birds and the frogs. We did have several days of rain and cold weather but, there were other days. I need to be around nature and I lacking enjoying the little things that give me a boost.
Thank you for reminding me. Every day matters.!
I usually try to buy medium priced appliances, the high end has all the bells and whistles I don’t need, but medium priced goods usually fill the bill for me.
That’s such a good point! The non branded products can be cheaper and better quality than the big brands.
Oftentimes these days more expensive doesn't mean better quality in appliances. Unfortunately, this is true of so many things today.
Thank you so much for this! I never thought my simple way of living would actually be looked down upon...where I have been viewed as stupid and lazy for not doing a million things all the time. I have had to come to grips with accepting that what I want in life may not be "normal" and that's okay.
I am an American. My ancestors immigrated from France in the 1600’s. Our family celebrates Independence Day every year with our Laotian friends and their extended family. We cook their traditional foods together. Yesterday we made Larb together with all the aunts and grandmother. The grandmother does not speak English, but she is happy to share her cooking knowledge by demonstration and she chats in Lao and I answer in English. And although we do not understand one another by language, we can still learn and share with each other. America is a country of immigrants. Some are old and some are new. I celebrate our diversity.
What I have learned is gratitude. At 72 so much of life is in the past. Savoring what is left is my goal. Living truly as if it was one of the last. Thanking the Lord for all His blessings and my Abba Father for creating me in the first place. And for placing me in this small Montana town . The people are real and the spirit of family and community are a solid foundation for life.
I grew exactly 5 strawberries this year. They were very tasty five berries tho.☺️
Having less material things I find is so freeing. Keeping only what you love and really enjoy unclutters your home and mind, and gives one peace. We live in 220 sq feet, it’s simple living and we have everything we need.
I never thought to expand the concept of quality over quantity past my possessions. Thank you this is really helpful x
It seems to help me, when I think I want something, to write it down on a list in the back of my notebook and wait a couple weeks - so many times, I’ll come up with a better idea using something I already have, which is more fun.
With clothes, I’ve gone to so much work to pare my closet down and love it like this, that I want to keep it this way and not clutter it up.
I really, really love your channel, by the way🥰 It always makes me feel better.
You are so lucky you are living in a country that is so cleaned and the people are so well disciplined in cleanliness as well...
I have a very small back yard but grow beautiful flowers and herbs in pots. I get a great sense of wellbeing selecting a few each day to include in my favourite salads. Thank you for your channel, it's so relaxing and incredibly informative x
That chocolate cake and strawberries looked so delicious! 🍓 Everyday after work, I go to my pallet garden, I have some strawberry plants, I pick and eat the ripe ones every day. Not many daily, but just a handful. Best tasting berries in the world! 🍓 What I do, is to buy expensive items second hand. I bought my last washing machine used, from a company that gives service to them, and give 2 years of warranty. 👍Have a nice week! 😊😊
I sit here hand stitching a binding into the lining of my winter coat (the lining split) before I take it to be cleaned and your video playing and it hit a nerve. Thanks in part to you, I stayed where I was, started growing vegetables in an allotment, making jam and chutney baking my own bread and loving my simple life. I am much happier with this simple life and do not envy anyone. I find your videos inspirational and I watch them every Sunday. Thank you for all you have done for me and continue to do
Good morning 🌞 I am sure my heart rate slows down substantially while watching your videos! Thank you for the great content and peaceful moments ❤

Ah thanks Anna for our kind words!
Thanks. I often think exactly as you reflected! My husband does not, which means I have a tough assignment of showing him another way of living! Have a good week!
Keep inspiring through your actions. He may take time to change. My husband took a few years!
An abundant blackberry crop! Time to make a cobbler. Green beans coming in too. Life in coastal Virginia is slow & mellow.
that desert looked so yummy. my husband and I also live in the country on a small property. I enjoy having space but gardening and keeping up the property is not all easy, it is work that you need to enjoy doing since there is a lot of it :) We have a large garden and some chickens as well as lots of property to mow and keep flower gardens. Healthy work but work none the less.
My mum brought us up with the belief of 'buy once, buy well '. I still have clothes I've been wearing for 25 years. My bedroom furniture was bespoke and cost a decent amount, much to the disgust of some work mates who decorate every year. But, I know i will have this furniture till I shuffle off this mortal coil. I like classic things that will last.
I find that bying better quality things that last longer saves me the trip of getting rid of the old used up things that don't. 😄
I prefer quality over quantity. I have been wearing the same wool coat for 12 years and have no plans to change. I also have a down coat (for particularly frigid Northeast days and nights that is older and still in great shape).I feel the same way about bed linens and other household items. I keep things for a very long time. My dream is to live in the country someday.
Hurry back I miss your program you were such a delight and I learned much
As I listen, I'm putting by a years worth of onions that I've harvested from the garden. Thank you for sharing your videos!
One thing to remember is that in the past, folk took pride in what they did. 1.Things were made to last.
2. People took care of their possessions. If a button came off, the garment received another. It was
laundered & hung up ready to wear again.
3. Speaking of clothing, I had a set for home worn for work & play. Also had a set for school and another for church. We wore aprons when cooking & tidying.
Which brings me to the question; where do you get yours? Or pattern to make the ones you use?
I am so surprised when I thrift shop how much decent clothes people get rid of simply because of a missing button or small tear. Or they just got bored of it. Good for me I guess but sad for our environment that people think clothes are so disposable.
So true!
I get most of my clothes from thrifted purchases or hand-me-downs or Etsy.
Life has been far too busy recently. It’s nice to take a few minutes to sit down and relax with these videos. Very refreshing and calming ☺️
Hello Niamh! Very greatfull for all of your vlogs but now mostly for what you teach!

i have had to be frugal all my life and i am grateful for that because it has taught me an education i could not have gotten any other way. i have always bought used and have been very blessed by doing so .....that and learning skills helped to stretch our budget and our children buy used as well now and it serves them well too.
Your videos help to keep me grounded & to remind me of what really matters in this life. Thank you for the inspiration.
You create calm every week. Thank you. Your mantra of 'keep it simple' has helped me a lot. Sending love from France xxx
Ah glad to hear! Thanks for your weekly support too x
I usually try to buy medium priced appliances, the high end has all the bells and whistles I don’t need, but medium priced goods usually fill the bill for me.
I still get in a mood where I feel like I don’t have enough, I look at my beautiful home and want an extension or a new kitchen or a better car. Then I go the other way, wanting less things, a simpler aesthetic, a curated minimalist lifestyle. I forget to appreciate what I am so lucky to have, my family, my safe home, my garden, my health, I hope I can learn to stay in gratitude more and forget the noise from outside.

Spending time with family is valuable time spent. Sharing love and conversation.💚❤
Wonderful that you have learned these life lessons at a young age. Thank you for sharing
Since finding your channel my life is changing. I want to cry really.
I'd been praying to God for help because I have an autoimmune disease and so I am not able to manage the house like I once could. Everything is becoming overwhelming to me, all the stuff in my house suddenly started to feel suffocating and oppressive to me, everything seems like a huge mountain to climb and I can't get it all done before the day is over and it makes me feel like a complete failure. I was starting to fall into depression and I didn't even understand what the problem was outside of me not being able to keep up, and not even knowing how to fix it. That is when I found your channel. I was watching your channel and it's helped me to see what the problem is.
You have helped me so much. I am completely purging and gutting my house of unnecessary things, I am making the recipes so that is helping me get chemical products out of my life which is helping me to feel better, and the permission you have given me to make things simple in my home has helped me get my stress levels down and all of this is helping me to feel better! And what I mean by permission is it's like, I was just taught this is the way we do things, this is life and that's it. I didn't even consider maybe things could be different, this is how everyone lives, this is normal. And I watched your channel and it was like....that not only is there a different way to do things and I am allowed to do things a different way then what everyone else is. And I'm allowed to teach my kids that there is another way. It doesn't have to be about stuff!
I'm less stressed so more friendly to my family. I have more time because there isn't so much mess to clean up. And there is a satisfaction if making my own products for the family like I've never had before just buying it from the store. Plus on top of it not wasting as much.
Finding your channel was the help I never knew I needed, but I am so thankful to God for putting in my path because you have changed my life and the direction that my life was going.
I don't have as much stuff to clean so I can go outside and enjoy nature and so everything I my life is just improving!
I don't even know how to say thank you to you, where do I even begin? I hope you can hear my thank you through out this comment because I'm not sure I can put into words the thank you that you deserve. 😊
God bless you! 🙌
Delighted to read Tara and thank you for sharing yourself here! Big hugs and love and Irish blessings to you ☘️
I love your videos.
I always remember my dad saying how he wanted to move to the countryside ("out in the sticks" as he used to call it) when he retired. He used to love fishing, gardening, metal detecting, and painting landscapes. Sadly, he passed away at age 54 back in 2009 without managing to have his little country house.
If my circumstances were different or somehow change, I would love to achieve what he hoped to have one day.
Here in Hawai'i we call the purple sweet potato "Uala" (ooh-ah-la) It's a favorite among family meals. Babies eat it mashed up as one of their first solid food's well as our beloved poi (mashed taro root).
Uala is also used as a ceremonial food in some Hawaiian ceremony's like Makahiki (a harvest celebration)💜
I AM inspired by your channel I will shift my city life to farm life. I AM excited to move and create amazing nature content. Much love from Malaysia. Sending love to everyone around the world. Stay safe. Peace upon u all
I'm enjoying your videos. They're actually helping me to recuperate from my major surgery last week. I do believe in quality over quantity. My maternal grandmother was like that and my mom and myself. We still have quality items we got years ago.
I visit my parents every Sunday, we laugh a lot, I cherish those moments with them and learn so much from their wisdom. By the way, that dessert looks so good!!!…..yum🤗😋
My dream is to have a lovely home, with only a few quality pieces of beautiful furniture.
Thank you for another lovely video. I, like others, hear you say several times a day “Keep it simple”. It really helps. I enjoy a cup of mint tea from my garden while listening to you. God bless you and yours.
My maternal grandmother was from Thurles. She came to the United States in the early 1900s at 18. I have never been to Ireland but you make me want to live there not just visit. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into a quiet county life in Ireland 🇮🇪. ✌ ❤
Ah wonderful! So cool that you have some Irish blood in you! Maybe you will visit Thurles some day xxx
Thank you for this nice and calming video. I am usually a quiet viewer, but today's video spoke to me. I am on the same journey as you, going from city life to rural life, starting to farm, etc. It has brought me patience. I do not have a lot of lessons from my family that I could apply here, as they are all city people through and through but what I have learned from the land and my whole journey is this:
1) Plants that look like they are about to die, often do recover. They just need more time. Healing takes time. And if they only produce one single fruit that is still a beautiful success and just as amazing and powerful then the plants who were healthy all along. We should treat humans, especially ourselves, like this too.
2) You are allowed to let go of the past. Not only the things you owned but also old beliefs, old characteristics, relationships, all of it. You are allowed to let them go during the process.
3) I really fcking hate capitalism
Have a nice day, greetings from a small island!
Ah lovely that you shared Tasmin. I enjoyed reading!
You have wise words to share indeed. It’s so true about plants and healing and this being the same for humans too. You must like the work of Gabor Mate as he talks so much about healing the body in such a gentle way.
@@FairylandCottage Thank you so much! :) I actually do not know Gabor Mate, but I will look it up.
I love the simplicity.
Another week of great content, my friend. It really hits home as I have been in that mindset - running quantity in order to be happy. From things to friends to work. It just made me miserable to think that those did not give me genuine happiness as compared to my planting vegetables which really lifts me up and the sheer joy that it gives me. I learned from my mom and grandmother that quality is better than quantity. Especially when it comes to things that you want to last a lifetime which is true as we still have some things at home that were bought by my grandmother (like sewing machine which is working still) and mother that we still use to this day.
Have a lovely week, everyone! ✨🙏🌸
I love how older things last longer! Nowadays sewing machine would break very quickly!
My 1910 Singer treadle sewing machine works as well now as the day it was made.
Living in the city is truly more expensive. My friends have half the income we do and they have a home of their own, a piece of land and that peacefulness because they do not worry so much about bills. We on the other hand spend so much money on rent and utilities that we could simply support ourselves with that money without needing more. I noticed recently that during the pandemic me and my partner just got so unmotivated to cook the convenience of food deliveries really took a huge part of what we could save up. It sometimes feels that if you would be forced, without these accommodations life would be much more about enjoying things and not about consuming them. Thank you for always bringing me that peace of mind ❤
I love your quiet, peaceful videos. Awesome way to start my morning😊
The more I grow up, the more I see the value of quality over quantity, and I'm also trying to be as sustainable as possible so this goes hand in hand for me. Also, that cake looks delicious !!
The cake looks delicious. Another wonderful video, even though I want to live minimally. Somehow I end up having too much.
I always look forward to your Sunday videos. Your purple potato chocolate cake with fresh strawberries looks absolutely delish. Thank you for sharing and have a great week!
This was a very sweet video. Very calming. We love our little garden. Some years it produces well and some years we get just a few things. What ever happens I love eating things that I grow. Your peas looked different than what I've grown. Thank you for sharing
Hello from Adelaide, South Australia. I am thoroughly enjoying your weekly videos. They're meditative and help me reflect on what is really important in my life. Community, supporting local, taking time to appreciate the little magical things, living simply and having a warm and welcoming home. As a nature lover and novice gardener, your country side and garden inspires me to explore more and walk more. The camera work is outstanding, and thoughtful narrations a source of comfort. Thank you.
Beautiful video.....and delicious looking cake with your home grown strawberries. Warm wishes from South Australia. PS I have made your muffins many times, my personal favourites being the lemon poppyseed ones. Thank you for showing us the joy of simple living, and living simply🐾

Your soothing voice is always so calming, thank you for this inspiring video
Another great video. I definitely agree it's about quality over quantity. I made that sweet potato chocolate cake this morning that you so kindly left the recipe for. I had a sweet potato that I wasn't sure what to do with. Absolutely delicious!!! Definitely a recipe to add to my collection 🙂

You might not know but you've helped me find peace and calmness within me and I'm more happy and satisfied now that I see that I have all thing that I need and I can achieve whatever I want at my own pace. Life isnt a race. We are here to live but people forget that very often. I'm happy that I'm not rushing to gather things or friends in my life and that's mostly because of you. And that has helped me to stop and be present in the moment and really enjoy the all the good things I already have.
Love you! And you are touching and changing more lives than you know. So thank you for that🥰❤️
Always waiting for your new videos!🤗
Ah you are a sweetheart to say. I’m delighted to hear that.
Keep being the inspiration you are to all around. You too are helping people in ways you don’t even know. ❤️☘️🌈
@@FairylandCottage oh my god! Feeling so lucky to have to reply to my comment 😛.
Thank you for those kinds words 😍
You made my day ❤️
Wonderful look forward to your video every Sunday perfect time of the week :) we visit a beautiful organic farm spa restaurant set in a huge farm at least once a week and love the slower pace. We even stayed recently it was so magic we literally had tears. I noticed what you had said in simple places like the canals in the south of France or just out in nature in general you feel so much more abundant and happy and rich in a sense with far fewer things around
“Less is More” is a saying that fits in with your message. Far better to have fewer things of high quality or that are meaningful, than useless stuff or people that don’t add happiness to your life. It has taken me decades to learn this but I finally did! Beautiful message, thanks!
I could watch you prepare food and set the table all day! I find it so calming. You bring out familiar pieces and I can tell you love them and look after them and everything always looks so pretty and inviting! ☺️. (Perhaps it’s because when we go home to the UK our relatives still usually set the table for meals and it’s a comforting ritual to me). I see that you cherish everything in your life 💗 I also like the William Morris quote someone already shared. I look forward to your videos and your wise and gentle suggestions for simple living. Thank you for always helping me feel there are good, kind, beautiful people in the world, watching your channel is self care for me 💗
very calm and peaceful video. like this.
This year, I'm beginning to reap the harvest of my first in-ground garden...so deeply satisfying to watch the seeds I planted come to life...Thank you so much for these wonderful videos. They have changed my mindset for the better x
Love your values so much. Just hearing you speak gives me joy and calm and everything you talk about seems to always be just what I need to hear. Sending appreciation your way. 😊

I grew tomatoes this year I finally figured out how to make it work I also pick them right before I need them they taste amazing cant get that at a grocery store
My father use to say if you want something to last, get the best. You spend less that way. So we did get the best seeds both hybrid and heirloom. Most have lasted a few years. My oldest seeds from last year were 6 years old. Overloaded us indeed. I know to get better at baking I need to bake more. So I am finding real recipes that use natural ingredients often fill me more. especially with more health issues nowadays. Our goat gives birth next month; by Sept, we'll have milk again. We still have sweet potatoes for the ground; regular potatoes in a pot. I have this awesome pound cake recipe I want to try as well as making goat milk ice cream. Noms!
My grandma grew up in a very rural area of Canada in the 20's-30's, in a very poor family. But her mother was an excellent seamstress and was taking LOTS of pride in making very well crafted clothes from high quality fabrics (the only thing she was willing to spend some extra money on) for her children, her husband and herself. She would modify the clothes to fit each of her kid's body shape as the clothes would be passed down. The clothes were hand washed and ironed very often so they would always look impeccable. They were so well made that my grandma and her sisters inherited some of the clothes for their own kids, and once again her mother re-worked them so they would fit 50's fashion! My grandma always said : we were dirt poor but we were dressed better than the Queen of England! 😊
Awh I loved reading that! Such love and devotion put into the clothes. That love would have been felt when wearing. Very special indeed
