I own 3 al bowlly records, love is the sweetest thing, goodnight sweetheart, with all my love and kisses. This is one of my favorites as well. Maybe someday.
The Noble band was the first I heard among the Brit orchestras, and it remains my favourite. The arrangements are always beautifully detailed and sensitively executed. Ray's composing, too, was a distinctive feature of the crew's identity; the American band equivalent that comes to mind is Isham Jones, whose own writing was a prominent part of his orchestra's sound. Too, though Al recorded with many of the great British outfits, I always associate him most closely with his Noble sides. Though the opener and closer here are of course, the most famous among Ray's compositions, all of these (and many more Noble tunes) are gems. I especially love "The Touch of Your Lips" and "Love Locked Out." ... Kind of surprised that "By the Fireside" didn't make the cut.
Modern song composers can learn much from the musical arrangements by these old orchestras, that made their instruments 'sing' their songs. Another great American orchestra is Leo Reisman.
Pure magic. I have this record, somewhere, but what a thrill to hear this lovely transfer.
Thanks! It turned out better than I expected.
Must have been one hell of a time to be alive, to hear all of these artists for the first time.
Al Bowly and Ray Noble had some fantastic numbers which helped to the course of history
Love Al Bowlly!

I love seeing medleys like this, very fun!
This is awesome for jazz nuts like me 🥜🥜🥜
Not much jazz here.......
Perhaps the best pop music ever recorded was by Noble’s band (1930-34) with Bowlly as vocalist…
Al Bowlly is much too overrated....
@@jourwalis-8875 WELL THATS ONE OPINION, AGAINST MILLIONS.
❤❤❤
Al Bowlly the dogs B's!
Sounds like music from a tom and Jerry cartoon.
IT'S TRANSITION MUSIC , FROM 1920'S JAZZ TO THE BEGUINING OF ROMANTIC SONGS AND THE CROONER. MUSIC IS ALWAYS, EVOLVING. YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT
