- In this video, we get underground in a remote part of the Arizona desert. Surrounded by tall steep cliffs, this mine was no easy task getting access to. But once we made it inside, it was all worth it.
We had a great time hanging out with @BrandonGross and Crystal as it was our first time out exploring together. Brandon is insane.. the flips he does, the places he goes to, the vans he lives out of.. he does it all. Make sure to go check out his channel! He made a video on this mine as well, which I will link below 👇

As you could probaly guess, exploring these places out in the middle of nowhere can get a bit costly. 😅 Not to mention camera gear, climbing gear, flashlights etc. Show your support! 👇

Algorithm blessed me with another exploring/old mine channel, well worth the click, what a spectacular place! Then the mine itself was amazing.
Awesome! Glad I’m getting some recognition from RUclips lol. Thanks for coming along, I’m glad you’re here
same for me!!
Everything in your video was spectacular. The opening montage, the mines location, the very mine itself. Thanks so much for sharing with us. BTW, I found the splintered supports holding up that massive slab of roof quite humorous.
John, thanks man! Sometimes it’s hard to push myself to put so much time into a single video but it’s comments like these that make it worth the time. Cheers mate! 🍻
Can't wait for it brother! Super excited to see this one.
Thanks my dude, hopefully I get to see ya soon
@@Kennerunderground We'll definitely get together within this next month
Beautiful video, I'm so glad I randomly discovered this channel on yt shorts. Spectacular shots, well put together information and editing. You deserve way more subscribers and views; this is top notch production. Being a fellow urbex/mine explorer myself makes me jealous you found this location, though 😂😂 Hope to see more videos!
Chase, I really appreciate that man. I feel like my channel is finally starting to pick up a bit, it’s comments like these that keep me going. From the bottom of my heart, thank you 🙏
Hey Owen thanks for the awesome video of your exploration. Arizona has a lot of interesting places to explore and I never new about asbestos mining but I am learning from watching your videos.
You have an excellent perception of selecting music to go with your videos. As always I will be looking forward to your next video
Calvin!! I always look forward to your comments. Thanks for sticking with me as long as you have been. I appreciate it mate
i love cave exploration videos even tho i am tariffed of going in them myself.
Keep going!
Haha me too! Glad you came and watched
amazing quality video bro absolutely subcribed now
oh wow, the picture at 16:36 , completely brought it out of the past and made it real
Thata drag line winch it had 2 drums of rope and one goes in the other goes out its hooked to the bucket and they are pretty common thanks for sharing
Thanks for the nice drone work showing us that deep gorge of beautiful rock and the waterfalls and other pretty shots of rock & water. Lots of people were in here before you, as look how they "set" the artifacts up for show. Lots of graffiti at the begining but also throughout the mine. Wonder if that was all "modern" or was some of the miner's "work" as they took "breaks"?? The flat slabs of stone ontop of the backfill have fallen off the back of the mine, over the yrs.,after it was "mined out". And WOW! lots of sticks of dynamite about. A different mining type of a different rock makeup. Thank you for showing your explore to us.
Really great video man - thanks for sharing?!!
Great video. Interesting Mine. I hope you disposed of your clothes properly afterwards!
12:55 most of the stulls in this area are completely broken or taking A LOT of weight and have deformed significantly. Seeing that would be enough for me to turn around. 😯
Great video! Looks like a fun explore! Butt.., I was curious, don't you worry about kicking up and breathing the asbestos fibers? Certainly something to think about, that stuff will mess up your lungs! Be safe on your explorations, please!
Thank you!! Yea, asbestos is definitely something not to mess with. We all made sure to have the proper rated respirators before going in and we made sure not take them off at any moment while we were inside. But I’m glad I got the chance to showcase a mine like this because I really don’t think there are many other videos out there like this one. Thank you for tuning in!! Hopefully I’ll see you in the comment section of my next video.. haha I’m just messin 😅
Asbestos fibers are hazardous. When you kick up dust in an asbestos mine, the fibers you can see may be breathed into your lungs but are of a size you will likely cough up. The small stuff, sub 5 microns in size, you will breath in, but they are too small to settle, and you will likely breathe them out. The particles sized 5 to 7 microns you breathe in and they will stick. Breathe in enough and you will develop mesothelioma, (asbestos)...in about 20 years. It's along slow killer. BTW - I worked at an asbestos mine in the early 70's. We were ignorant of the hazard at the time and nobody wore mask or respirator. Over the years I know of about a half dozen people from a crew of about 100, who have passed from asbestos related diseases. I was fortunate, but my exposure was slightly less than most as I was the mine surveyor.
An unusual, unique mine.
I love abandoned mines like the rest of you but if you knew that this was an asbestos mine going in, you were quite foolish. The latency period for asbestosis is 10 years. Asbestosis is the slow destruction of the alveoli in your lungs. For mesothelioma, the latency period is 30 to 40 years. Mesothelioma is the cancer of the mesothelial lining of the lungs. There is no treatment for either one of these conditions - apart from supplemental oxygen. Asbestos stays in your body forever. If this is an asbestos mine you have been exposed. Your clothing was covered in it. Your car is also contaminated. When you washed your jeans back home, you contaminated the machine and the room where you undressed. If you shared a clothes hamper with others, their clothing is also contaminated. The half face respirators with magenta filters are acceptable if you did a proper fit test and the fit checked from time to time. The other dust masks were useless. The advice to get your lungs x-rayed will not show the damage but it will give a good baseline for your future doctors to compare to so they can tell you, "Yes, you have asbestosis."
Stay away from a mine that you even suspect has asbestos in it. Enjoy your youth.
So true and they had no gloves on or eye protection either. Asbestos killed my grandfather, he used to make it. Crazy stuff.
Tyvek anyone? Oh well.. even entering the gully below is hazardous
What the heck does raw asbestos even look like?
If this is at S.M. I think I actually accidentally went into this one 20yrs ago with my ex & it was scary as hell. Haven’t ever been able to find it again, though… since there are hundreds out here.
Why cant we go in! 🫣 Ready to watch
Yep your nuts the type of mine to the sketchy dynamite at least you know not to touch it,the stalls are to let the miners know when the back moves so they know to get out. Be safe my friends.
How did you not get lost and turned around?
It really isn’t too difficult to remember things in the mine that you’ve seen. It’s not like the catacombs where everything looks the same. I’ve never gotten lost in a mine!
Where is this?
If a hole not man-made allows me access to a mine
I'l l do as the working people did and have my look.
Mines have had less time to show how stable they
are whereas caves survived prior geological ages.
My present cave is within a Permian Age sea reef.
Who was making brick walls in a mine @08:08 ?
I’m not sure! The purpose for it was either to support the ceiling or it was just a way to clear an area out without having to haul the rock out
Look up what it dose to you and look up Libby Montana
Well, I would go have your lung checked. It gets on you Close And then when you take him off, you inhale it. I would go to the hospital. And get x-rays of your lungs.
I understand your concern, everyone on my team was fully aware of what we were going into, we all had asbestos rated insulated respirators that we never took off within our 2 hour exploration.
And yes I am aware of the tragic story of Libby.
So why are YOU allowed to go in there but everyone ELSE is supposed to stay out?
Who do you think you are,
Daniel Day Louis?
Sorry, not impressed!
You appear to be walking through very low overhead environments, but you don't even have to bend down.
