Excellent and well explained tutorial. Thanks for posting. I had a problem as follows...All worked for me except when the text is applied to the circular path it does not ride along the path line like yours. The centre of the text is on (and follows) the line which is not how yours is. Plus the first and last letters of the sentences are not in the same (centre) position of the path line (The right side last letters are almost below the path line, Any ideas to get the text on the path line like yours would be welcome. (GIMP 2.10.30)
In respect of the text following the circular path the answer was to make sure the circle was a true circle and not any form of ellipse. I have also found that by adjusting the space beneath the text box the placement on or above or below the path can be controlled.
Yes, making more space in the text box below the text did it. Have to play with it to get it right though. Should be an easier way. But hey, it works… Thank you..! 🙂
Thank you this is great, But, I did every step along with you and the text isn’t along the outside of the circle, but through the circle line. I’m sure there’s a setting that is off on my GIMP. Do you know what it might be..?
I too, often forget how to do a specific task. This video may have been more for you than for me, but I am still grateful. Thanks so much Did you use GIMP on windows? I'm using it on Debian and the rotate tool didn't work the same wya.
Hi, thanks for this tutorial. is it possible to make the text sitting strictly in the middle on path line? now the upper text sits a bit outside of the path and the lower sits higher, so they are not symmetrical. are there any settings to adjust that? pls advise.
Hello. How did you have all 3 tabs appear at 2:11 on the right panel as you clicked? I only have "layers" tab which consisted of mode, opacity etc... the other 2 disappeared.
Not sure what to tell ya' other than start over and go real slow. Try not to miss a single step! If ya' can't get it, let me know what step you're at and I'll try duplicating it.
Really happy that you didn't edit out any of your mistakes, because it shows me what is not right and how to fix stuff.
I finally learned how to wrap text around a circle. Thank you, I had a blast with this tutorial!
Super nice and easy way of teaching.
You make it look simple... good job, thank you.

I have the same problem. Have you resolved it..?

This works for circles, but it doesn't work for ovals. There's some other thing that needs to be done so the text follows the oval path.
Good catch partner, I've never used ovals... haven't played with them yet!

Why is my bottom text at the top

When i click on text along path, my text goes there (to the circle) but the color of the text is not there...just outline of text with no color
