Problem was always that it's run by a council staffed by people from the County - they're completely out of tune with the needs of the people. Homeless? Here's your arts quarter. Drugs? There are places in Nottingham that are open in the cold weather, it's just some homeless people prefer outside as they want to drink and take drugs. That's not allowed in hostels as it causes fights

I’m from Nottingham ex addiction and streets, reds was a piece of shit who wanted to be a serial killer because he bullied the homeless he started to believe he was a big man, a legend in his own mind, he’s been weighed in loads of times in jail, he’s become the victim, seen it with my own eyes.. Nottingham is a great city but like everywhere there’s another society of addiction and homelessness that’s constantly growing..

Unfortunately, that is just a building not a church in the Christian context. I completely agree that thise who call themselves Christian or anything really, should be living a decent enough life to look after others. Love your neighboir like yourself. But a church is no building. It is a community of people who want to share the faith in God. Just so happens that fancy building was used for God when more people cared to know God. But now you can see that society falls apart with the absence of morals and standards that obeying God brings.

Believe it or not, Nottingham wasn’t like this just about 5 years ago. Up until covid happened there was only 1 or 2 empty retail units, there wasn’t a homeless person in every doorway. Then after lockdown and all those businesses going bust it left all the empty shops and that’s why the homeless have become rife. You used to only see about 6 or 7 spread out across the city but now there’s 100 or more. And the city never used to be a dump neither that started going downhill about 10 years ago. Up until about 2015 it was a busy and vibrant place. All ruined now.

I remember Nottingham as a fantastic, clean, vibrant place, where I went regularly to buy records, and clothes from the street traders that used to line the high street, before they were banned. Arcade records, Selectadisc, etc fantastic. We kept going over the years, but in the past 3 to 4 years it has rapidly gone downhill, scruffy, run-down, and the once full-to-the-brim shopping centres are now almost empty of anything other than the same few big chain stores, bookies, vape shops, and poundlands, that you see everywhere else. Gone are all of the individual traders, and gone are any resemblance of the vibrant city it once was.

I’m from Nottingham ex addiction and streets, reds was a piece of shit who wanted to be a serial killer because he bullied the homeless he started to believe he was a big man, a legend in his own mind, he’s been weighed in loads of times in jail, he’s become the victim, seen it with my own eyes..
Nottingham is a great city but like everywhere there’s another society of addiction and homelessness that’s constantly growing..

If that church was really Gods house, i don't think we would have homeless sleeping on the grounds outside would we.. they would be in there being fed and cared for.
Unfortunately, that is just a building not a church in the Christian context.
I completely agree that thise who call themselves Christian or anything really, should be living a decent enough life to look after others. Love your neighboir like yourself.
But a church is no building. It is a community of people who want to share the faith in God.
Just so happens that fancy building was used for God when more people cared to know God. But now you can see that society falls apart with the absence of morals and standards that obeying God brings.
Billy is a star... he's out there highlighting the problems in our society and doing the best he can to comfort and offer support to some of the poor, unfortunate, people he meets. Billy makes me realize how easy my life is... there but for the grace of God go I, and all that!

At age 16 everyone has a choice, Will I take drugs like my pals do, Will I steal from that Shop or that Person as my pals do, OR ... Will I look for a job !! I did the latter and even at age 65 I am still WORKING ! I have bills to pay, I need to work I have no choice !
Believe it or not, Nottingham wasn’t like this just about 5 years ago. Up until covid happened there was only 1 or 2 empty retail units, there wasn’t a homeless person in every doorway. Then after lockdown and all those businesses going bust it left all the empty shops and that’s why the homeless have become rife. You used to only see about 6 or 7 spread out across the city but now there’s 100 or more. And the city never used to be a dump neither that started going downhill about 10 years ago. Up until about 2015 it was a busy and vibrant place. All ruined now.

Not from there Billy but lived there for 20yrs and that city is absolutely swimming with drugs, it's a nice looking City but I found it as bad as Manchester, I still miss it but it was best I went, you can't just run from habbits but it was definitely best i left, slowly winning my battle now, cheers mate and thanks for featuring Nottingham. My heart went out to that girl with the eye, but I fear the worst. Drug and Alcohol services are quite good there fortunately, well they were anyways.

Thanks Billy. I had a friend who lived in the posh part of Nottingham and used to visit there regular 20-25 years ago. It was an amazing, friendly, vibrant place with great nightlife, student bars and just amazing. I even thought of moving there but what I see now is no resemblance at all. 20+ years since I went to Sheffield and Nottingham city centres, judging from your videos, while they have one or two nice new buildings they generally have a down-at-heel grungy sinister vibe that I don't remember them previously having.

Imagine being at your worst and someone publishes you on RUclips? Just a bit of awareness I feel is needed. Some people just want to disappear from life but now they are on your channel forever.

I lived in Nottingham through the 90's and boy it's gone downhill since then.
Its incredible the deterioration in all our cities and the massive rise in homelessness , very sad situation that is hard to see getting any better .
My home city......and an absolute shit hole!! Some Nottingham suburbs are decent but the city center is an absolute mess! I avoid it like the plague!
It's better than Sheffield's city centre.
I'm also originally from Nottingham. It was brilliant back in the 80s and 90s. It is absolutely vile now.

I remember Nottingham as a fantastic, clean, vibrant place, where I went regularly to buy records, and clothes from the street traders that used to line the high street, before they were banned.
Arcade records, Selectadisc, etc fantastic.
We kept going over the years, but in the past 3 to 4 years it has rapidly gone downhill, scruffy, run-down, and the once full-to-the-brim shopping centres are now almost empty of anything other than the same few big chain stores, bookies, vape shops, and poundlands, that you see everywhere else. Gone are all of the individual traders, and gone are any resemblance of the vibrant city it once was.
Sounds like every city centre in the country.
@@box1007 Sadly, yes. London is still nice, and other little villages but by and large, most cities and towns are the same. I was in Leicester not long ago and the town centre there is just depressing.
Real feel for the woman at the start. I live with my mother and I'm not on the tenancy, I'm technically, of no fixed abode. She won't put me on the tenancy. Soon as something happens to her, I will be homeless, while somebody else will take my place.
Broken system or what. I'm doing my best to make sure I don't end up being homeless.
