Came here to find creationist stories from Mesopotamia, I also found sargon, looks like a double win:) thanks for reading these texts. I get to listen to them while driving on my work rout. Learning and earning:)
Tablet One: The tale begins before creation, when only the primordial entities Apsu and Tiamat existed, co-mingled together. There were no other things or gods, nor had any destinies been foretold. Then from the mixture of Apsu and Tiamat two gods issued - Lahmu and Lahamu; next Anshar and Kishar were created. From Anshar came firstly the god Anu, and from Anu, came Nudimmud (also known as Ea). The commotion of these new gods disturbed and disgusted Tiamat, and Apsu could not calm them. Apsu called Mummu to speak with Tiamat, and he proposed to destroy the new gods, but Tiamat was reluctant to destroy what they had made. Mummu advised Apsu to destroy them, and he embraced Mummu. The new gods heard of this and were worried - Ea however crafted a spell to lull Apsu to sleep. Mummu sought to wake Apsu but could not - Ea took Apsu's halo and wore it himself, slew Apsu, and chained Mummu. Apsu became the dwelling place of Ea, together with his wife Damkina. Within the heart of Apsu, Ea and Damkina created Marduk. The splendor of Marduk exceeded Ea and the other gods, and Ea called him "My son, the Sun!". Anu created the four winds. Other gods taunted Tiamat: 'When your consort (Apsu) was slain you did nothing', and complained of the wearisome wind. Tiamat then made monsters to battle the other gods, eleven chimeric creatures with weapons, with the god Kingu chief of the war party and her new consort. She gave Kingu the 'Tablet of Destinies', making his command unchallengeable. Tablet Two: Ea heard of Tiamat's plan to fight and avenge Apsu. He spoke to his grandfather Anshar, telling that many gods had gone to Tiamat's cause, and that she had created eleven monstrous creatures fit for war, and made Kingu their leader, wielding the 'Tablet of Destinies'. Anshar was troubled and told Anu to go to appease Tiamat, but he was too weak to face her and turned back. Anshar became more worried, thinking no god could resist Tiamat. Finally, Anshar proposed Marduk as their champion. Marduk was brought forth, and asked what god he must fight - to which Anshar replied that it was not a god but the goddess Tiamat. Marduk confidently predicted his victory, but exacted their promise to proclaim him supreme god, with authority over even Anshar. Tablet Three: Anshar spoke to Gaga, who advised him to fetch Lahmu and Lahamu and tell them of Tiamat's war plans, and of Marduk's demand for overlordship if he defeats her. Lahmu and Lahamu and other Igigi (heavenly gods) were distressed, but drank together, becoming drowsy, and finally approving the compact with Marduk. Tablet Four: Marduk was given a throne, and sat over the other gods, who honored him. Lord, truly thy decree is first among gods. Say but to wreck or create; it shall be. Open thy mouth: the Images will vanish! Speak again, and the Images shall be whole! (Other gods speak to Marduk) Translation, Table IV. Lines 20-. Pritchard 1969, p. 66 Marduk was also given a sceptre and vestments, as well as weapons to fight Tiamat - bow, quiver, mace, and bolts of lightning, together with the four winds - his body was aflame. Using the four winds Marduk trapped Tiamat. Adding a whirlwind, a cyclone, and Imhullu ("the Evil Wind"), together the seven winds stirred up Tiamat. In his war chariot drawn by four creatures he advanced. He challenged Tiamat, stating she had unrightfully made Kingu her consort, accusing her of being the source of the trouble. Enraged, Tiamat joined Marduk in single combat. Marduk used a net, a gift from Anu, to entangle Tiamat; Tiamat attempted to swallow Marduk, but 'the Evil Wind' filled her mouth. With the winds swirling within her she became distended - Marduk then shot his arrow, hitting her heart - she was slain. The other gods attempted to flee but, Marduk captured them, broke their weapons, and netted them. Her eleven monsters were also captured and chained; whilst Kingu was taken to Uggae (the Angel of Death), the 'Tablet of Destinies' taken from him. Marduk then smashed Tiamat's head with the mace, while her blood was carried off by the North Wind. Marduk then split Tiamat's remains in two - from one half he made the sky - in it he made places for Anu, Enlil, and Ea. Tablet Five: Marduk made likenesses of the gods in the constellations, and defined the days of the year from them. He created night and day, and the moon also. He created clouds and rain, and their water made the Tigris and Euphrates. He gave the 'Tablet of Destinies' to Anu. Statues of the eleven monsters of Tiamat were made and installed at the gate of Apsu. Tablet Six: Marduk then spoke to Ea - saying he would use his own blood to create man - and that man would serve the gods. Ea advised one of the gods be chosen as a sacrifice - the Igigi advised that Kingu be chosen - his blood was then used to create man. Construct Babylon, whose building you have requested, Let its brickwork be fashioned. You shall name it 'The Sanctuary.' (Marduk commands the other gods, the Anunnaki) Translation, Table VI. Lines 57-. Pritchard 1969, p. 68 Marduk then divided the gods into "above" and "below" - three hundred in the heavens, six hundred on earth. The gods then proposed to build a throne or shrine for him - Marduk told them to construct Babylon. The gods then spent a year making bricks - they built the Esagila (Temple to Marduk) to a great height, making it a place for Marduk, Ea, and Enlil. A banquet was then held, with fifty of the great gods taking seats. Anu praising Enlil's bow and then Marduk. The first nine names or titles of Marduk were given. Tablet Seven: The remainder of Marduk's fifty names or titles were read.

It's interesting that Tiamat first starts out as a creator goddess but is then put down by a male god-hero. Some have hypothesized this marks a shift in female dominated religion to male dominated religion.
your thinking of the story wrong. Tiamat is what earth used to be. the tale tells how earth came to be. earth was struck not with an asteroid but a planet which still residesinside the earth. the asteroid belt that lies between mars and jupiter is pieces of tiamat.
Where is the scientific proof of this? Because everything Zecharia Sitchin has theorized has been debunked with ease. And the myth of Nibiru doesn't support this... The teaching is that Nibiru (Marduk) itself is what hit Tiamet (Earth). No where does it teach that Nibiru is still inside Earth. Whats funny about this idea - Is that Sitchin was shown to be wrong in regards to when Nibiru would show up - So in 1995 (when he theorized that we should start to feel the exo-Planet) this theory was given by Nancy Lieder!!! Sitchin NEVER believed in any form of Cataclysm!!! Now that 2012 has come and gone - We are now seeing outliers of this (stupid) theory try and explain it away as though the planet DID exist... But that it was destroyed in such a way that now it is either completely gone - Or that it is melded with Earth... Which again - Can NOT be possible! Note: This is only in regards to the explanation of the planet itself - Now hoaxers are claiming that its not an actual planet - But an entire solar system... Why? 1) The size of the astroid the almost destroyed all life on Earth 65 million years ago - Was roughly 10km (6 miles) in diameter, 2) Nibiru was said to have been the size of Neptune, and 3) Nibiru is said to make its trek in 3,600 years - Yet it was claimed that if it weren't for the sun in the way - We would have been able to see it in the path of the sun in 2014... Where did it go after 2014??! Did it just melt away as it continued to head this way? The effects of a planet that large coming near Earth would cause the Earth to enter discourse... Start to wobble. Cause massive climate change (not on the scope of 1 or 2 degrees as we are seeing - But in the range of 10+ at high and 10+ on the low...). This ofc isn't touching on the fact that all of this was thrown away by most of the Nibiru community - And now its believed to be a "mini" solar system... Where there are multiple planets!
I thought that the Tiamat ( what is now earth) was hit by Nibiru's moon. Nibiru's moon was the Anunnaki's off planet observatory. Which is why some claim is why there were the destroyed glass domes and buildings and such on our moon now.
Son of Tiamat ..You are talking about Ninhursag? .yes she was the genetist leader of the first Anunnaki colony on Earth and she manipulated the DNA with Enki he didn't do it by himself. First it was the matriarchy and then the patriarchy.
I never quite realized how much Mandaeanism is influenced by Babylonian/Assyrian mythologies before. Tiamat and Ruha are nearly identical, and Manda d'Hayye is very similar to Marduk.
This was a genius way that the Anunnaki explained the formation of the Earth in our solar system to the primitive humans they recently created! If you are going to explain something like this (the formation of a planet by a collision, within a solar system) to a child, you're not going to get anywhere talking about; "gravitational pull", "trajectory", "axis", etc.. Explaining it using names of the something they understand (characters from a child's show or in the Sumerian's case, use their gods as characters) and a war (or a fight) between them. And turn it into an epic poem/story.
For those not familiar, this story is about a great planet Marduk that struck pre-earth Tiamat breaking it up into the asteroid belt, the moon and earth itself.
All religions share qualities, especially in their creation myths. A heroic individual cutting appart primordial chaos and creating the universe is a common idea. There's a sort of biological (or, more specifically, psycological) imperitive to the structure and characters of these stories.
It's the story and inspirational lore of nearly any good game. Final Fantasy includes so many mythological references. From the lore, to the quests themselves, the enemies and bosses, the zones and traversing, etc etc.
this is 'The Wars of Jehovah' - his battles with the fallen created spirits (wrongly translated 'gods') in the spiritual realm, before the material realm was created as frozen spirit, as a cage for the rebelled fallen spirits.
When I was studying this in class I spent the whole day thinking "......so Marduk killed his grandma and broke her into pieces and made the earth..... that's.....odd..."
@Sarah Asaad They're from Norse mythology. In this case, Ymir is one of the first beings.Odin and his brothers killed him and made the world out of his remains. Basically the same story as Marduk subjugating the vengeful Tiamet, but with different names and slightly different details included.
Would you ever consider reading the Baal or Kumarbi Cycles ? Or at least some Hittite texts in general ? There's also the so called "ARAMAIC TEXT IN DEMOTIC SCRIPT", which I found in "Context of Scripture" and which is rather difficult to find all on it's own. It's a description of religious traditions of Semites in Egypt showing polytheistic tendencies, or there's "An Underworld Vision of an Assyrian Prince".
At 36:20 (if this was to be believed the way all religions are believed) id stand up and just clap, at dearest Marduk, who enslaved all the gods through thousands of years, to always be remembered, may his deeds always be known, and to all the gods who helped him. I wonder how it must feel, to be incarnated on earth specifically, for thousands of years, not knowing who or what u are, and then listening to this, who would u really deem to be the aggressor????
Sargon, this reading of the Islamic conquest of feminist Europe is most entertaining. On a serious note, the more ancient books I read, the more my Bible stands unique.
I figured as much.. this is still not the original. Keen eye. This still spreads conflict and hate towards women. And the audacity of saying there is war YAHWEH'S kingdom. Blasphemy
what an interesting story. I think that it predates the Genesis version of what it was like in the beginning, by like thousands of years...(assuming of course .that the method s used to determine the age of the tablets are in the range of being accurate). Quite fascinating
Great work as usual. I hope you will keep doing this, even if it's only for a mere fraction of your other channel's audience. What text do you think you will be reading next?
Charlie Hutch do you want her to spawn monster-serpents, sharp of tooth and merciless of fang, with poison instead of blood so they can take care of you?
as cool as these ancient stories are, its a shame that a lot of them tend to repeat a lot. maybe its redundancy for the sake of clarity, but it can sometimes be a bit *too* repetetive
That part about the iggigis(not sure of spelling) but i believe the story of the annunaki had a slave race with a similar name. So many factors pointing toward beings who were here using humanity as slaves.
A poetic manner of telling the origins of the solar system, its planets and the luminaries that revovolve around it. Of course Planets are living entities, each one with his own role, like an organ in the human body. Even Sitchin, in his wishful ignorance, ended up describing celestial dynamics in his "forced" translations. The arrival of Nibiru in fact, is told in perfect analogy with Velikovsky's theory of the birth of Venus from Jupiter. According to the great late Velikovsky Jupiter litetally spat Venus from within, leaving the eternal hurricane on his surface as proof. Venus was born a comet, and before setting in her orbit passed close to Earth a few times, causing what is know as the great plagues of Egypt and wreaking havoc in general. Venus is gold in appearance, and robbed Earth of many things during her passage, reason for which it is said that Nibiru wanted our gold. Basically, it is always about the planets, nothing else matters and the ancient knew this, they knew they are infact the gods, it is only our materialistically sick culture that forgotten and ridiculed them, living under their oppression instead that in harmony with them.
@@GODzSPARKLE950Em Thank you. It took a good minute to find the post you were answering to, as that profile isn't active anymore. Anyhow, I still stand with what i said, but further years of studying, almost ten it seems (how time flies..), brought me to the conclusion that many thousands of years ago there definitely were higher entities on earth, doing their own bidding and "playing" with us. The most important thing to remember, regardless of anything else, is that we store the divine spark within us, and as true as the Gods may be, if we don't first unlock that divine spark, there is nothing they can do to help us. God bless, and wishing you all the best 👍🏻
Apsu - The Sun Mummy - Mercury Lahumu - Venus Lahmu - Mars Kishar - Jupiter Anshar - Saturn Anu - Uranus Nudimmud - Neptune A planet invaded our solar system and as it passed our outer planets it caused; Uranus to tilt on its side. The retrograde orbit of Triton. Pulled Pluto from its place as a moonlet to become a planet. Tiamat sprouted 11 satalites one of them "kingu" grew to almost planet size. Niburu's satellites smashed into Tiamat splitting it in two. One half was smashed into bits and became the asteroid belt between Mars & Jupiter. The other half became Earth (ki in Sumerian) and Tiamat's largest satellite became Earth's moon. The Sumerain's called the invader Niburu "planet of the crossing". The Babylonians renamed it Marduk in honour of their national god. From When time began by Zacharia Stitchin
Mithradates Megas I think you have to apply the simplest explanation theory here...I'm going out on limb I know...but maybe, and this is a big maybe, it could have something to do with the fact that they are 6000 years old. Who knows...lacuna
Instead of saying "lacuna" the Narrator should have a needle-scratch sound-effect, to make it seem like a vinyl record being skipped over the lacunae. Either that, or have a three-tone sound -- "Boop-boop-boop!" -- to represent the ellipses often used in a text to indicate missing portions, as in: " . . . " Just a suggestion.
I knew I recognised that voice, hey Sargon, I didn't know you had delved into all this kinda stuff, I'm quite surprised, I found this channel totally separately not from your Sargon channel which I am subbed to, something id like to ask you now I know you have looked into this stuff, have you read - the lost book of enki? I'd love to get your take on it all, I find it fascinating and I wish more people were aware of it all, I can refute all the main religions but I can't debunk any of the lost book of enki, everything ties in with everything and there's evidence everywhere both on this planet and the moon and Mars, we even have photos of some of these things, which are all mentioned in the lost book of enki from thousands of years ago, how can all this be if it weren't true? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it all
Will you be doing anything associated with Ancient Greek mythology, Roman mythology or Norse gods? The stories and fables behind them are very interesting.
+Nina COCOA Storm A lacuna is a word that means some text is missing. Often these ancient tablets were chipped or broken so words, phrases, and even entire paragraphs are missing. This also happens in texts recorded on papyrus. I had the same question.
@@TheFaithtrix Lacuna origin is Latin, and simply means there is a gap, or empty space, missing pieces/words/phrases, or a memory failure (gap on memory)
Ok, so I get that there's a lot of missing lines hence lacuna, but why is the same thing/lines read over and over and over? I had to keep checking my phone as I thought that maybe I rewinded the vid by mistake 🤷 Great reading btw. Thank you for taking the time to read this for us 👍
Repetition is common in these ancient stories because they were originally transmitted orally, and rhyming "choruses" were used to aid memory and accurate transmission.
Marduk? ... interesting. That was a name reused for the most powerful being in a really cool 3rd person RTS called "Sacrifice" (made by "Shiny"). One of those cult classics in the early 2000's of gaming that never got its due... (probably in part b/c the difficulty to was much for most ppl)
Information control is certainly at play here. I'm sure you're reading this from the book. However, " they" who control the flow of information, left their calling card. This should not be written in old English /Shakespearian... ...but simply translated from (Aramaic) ...? ...or its original language straight to English!

3) Nibiru is said to make its trek in 3,600 years - Yet it was claimed that if it weren't for the sun in the way - We would have been able to see it in the path of the sun in 2014...
Lacuna matata
GIGGLES😅😂😆
Thank you so much, LACUNA !
Lacuna Coil
Yep, didnt see that one coming. Props to you.
Hakuna matata!
the picture shown is actually the sumerian kings list... but good job for putting out the story. people need it.
I was just looking for history related to Gilgamesh, I wasn't expecting to find Sargon
I have a fever, and the only cure, is more lacuna
So are these planets they are talking about or actual Anunakis?
@@SJ-cg6fuplanets, they ascribed annunaki names to the planets
I'm definitely putting these giant vipers in my d&d campaign

+jipowap47 - Sounds more like Magic the Gathering. ~Lacuna
All religions share qualities, especially in their creation myths. A heroic individual cutting appart primordial chaos and creating the universe is a common idea.
There's a sort of biological (or, more specifically, psycological) imperitive to the structure and characters of these stories.
jipowap47 right ?
It's the story and inspirational lore of nearly any good game. Final Fantasy includes so many mythological references. From the lore, to the quests themselves, the enemies and bosses, the zones and traversing, etc etc.
Lacuna is the new [REDACTED]
Not exactly. Redaction has intent, lacuna does not.
this is 'The Wars of Jehovah' - his battles with the fallen created spirits (wrongly translated 'gods') in the spiritual realm, before the material realm was created as frozen spirit, as a cage for the rebelled fallen spirits.
When I was studying this in class I spent the whole day thinking "......so Marduk killed his grandma and broke her into pieces and made the earth..... that's.....odd..."
Odin and his brothers did the same thing to Ymir, who was basically their Grandfather. Same story, but with alot of the details lost or altered...
@Sarah Asaad They're from Norse mythology. In this case, Ymir is one of the first beings.Odin and his brothers killed him and made the world out of his remains. Basically the same story as Marduk subjugating the vengeful Tiamet, but with different names and slightly different details included.
I find it a bit surprising that a prime creator being is defeated by a lesser being,..I wonder what she said before she died
Sargon, is that you?
Radel Gratereaux Gautreaux , it's his alter-ego, his "batman" life.
Yup.
"Hey man, you ready to go yet ?' , "Lacuna...gotta tie my shoes."
You could just keep on saying that any time you don't want someone to really know what you said.
Lots of repetition.
My guess: priest chants the Story, choir chants the chorus.
3 minutes in and I can't lacunae anymore

Mongrels and fakers.
Lol
@Police FBI right
Hunh? wtf wanker

Lacuna shall be worshipped. The bow's second name shall be lacuna! All hail lacuna, sacrifice to lacuna!

Is lacuna gonna become the new desu?
You mean the ancient desu?
Basically Gil's strongest noble phantasm 😏
The Gods beheld his Lacuna... for it was enormous.
Each time I hear : lacuna. My mind goes "dammit"... I get all lacuna and I can't lacune the text. 🤣♥️
I especially like the part that gets repeated over and over again
+Breaky Jose The part about the serpents, vipers, dragons, scorpionmen, fishmen, rams and whatever I forgot?

okay fuck this 5 minutes in.

These would be much better if you had words to read as well.
we have about 1.994 million years of unrecorded history.
Maybe the true lacuna were the friends we made along the way
Thank you so much for this. The ancient aliens nonsense is such an offense against the true writings of old.
Is it true the Old Testament took inspiration here?
Yes
Psalms 57 contains parts of this text. I'm wondering if some of the lacunas could be filled in by it.
Did you look?
Sargon, this reading of the Islamic conquest of feminist Europe is most entertaining. On a serious note, the more ancient books I read, the more my Bible stands unique.

King James Version of the Enuma Elish?
I figured as much.. this is still not the original. Keen eye. This still spreads conflict and hate towards women. And the audacity of saying there is war YAHWEH'S kingdom. Blasphemy
If Lacuna was a drinking game..
what an interesting story. I think that it predates the Genesis version of what it was like in the beginning, by like thousands of years...(assuming of course .that the method s used to determine the age of the tablets are in the range of being accurate). Quite fascinating
I’m gonna start saying Lacuna after every sentence I say, Lacuna
Great work as usual. I hope you will keep doing this, even if it's only for a mere fraction of your other channel's audience. What text do you think you will be reading next?
Memento Mori The Prince, by Machiavelli.
+Bart Bols its heart warming to see you completely missed the point...
+Bart Bols Did you know that she spawned monster-serpents,
sharp of tooth and merciless of fang,
with poison instead of blood?
*****
lacuna means there is a part missing.. that may be your confusion. as it makes it sound repetitive
Charlie Hutch do you want her to spawn monster-serpents,
sharp of tooth and merciless of fang,
with poison instead of blood so they can take care of you?
as cool as these ancient stories are, its a shame that a lot of them tend to repeat a lot. maybe its redundancy for the sake of clarity, but it can sometimes be a bit *too* repetetive
you can think of it like a chorus in a modern song

Who here realizes that this is to be sung?
I do, actually, [lacuna]
dekonfrost7 It would sound stupid being sungm
in the original language, yes... but translation makes that idea *lacuna*
Do you mean like that?
She sang this song, she has sung this song every day!
33:02 reminds of the Quranic verse : I created man and demon but to serve Me!
That part about the iggigis(not sure of spelling) but i believe the story of the annunaki had a slave race with a similar name. So many factors pointing toward beings who were here using humanity as slaves.
@@gillianlello7325 This is why the gods created man, to serve :)
Yeah, you sound really in touch bud
❤❤❤❤ this is amazing well done , sure makes you question alot❤

A planet invaded our solar system and as it passed our outer planets it caused;
Uranus to tilt on its side.

TL;DR: Lacuna
Seriously, though; this seems almost intentionally defaced. How many missing names of places and people are there in this thing?
Mithradates Megas I think you have to apply the simplest explanation theory here...I'm going out on limb I know...but maybe, and this is a big maybe, it could have something to do with the fact that they are 6000 years old. Who knows...lacuna
A little a both makes sense. It's very convenient that nearly every, seemingly, important peice is a total lacuna. Lacuna...
Thank you because I did not want to freaking read all of this.
You can lacuna piano, but you cant lacuna fish...

Has any rocks in the asteroid belt ever been tested, to see if they match the earth.
What is Lacuna? Really ... I'm genuinely asking out of sincere interest
+Nina COCOA Storm A lacuna is a word that means some text is missing. Often these ancient tablets were chipped or broken so words, phrases, and even entire paragraphs are missing. This also happens in texts recorded on papyrus. I had the same question.
+TheFaithtrix Thank you!
lacuna is used in many disciplines for a small piece missing, as in the lacunar cerebral strokes of hypertensive patients
It means " WTF"
@@TheFaithtrix Lacuna origin is Latin, and simply means there is a gap, or empty space, missing pieces/words/phrases, or a memory failure (gap on memory)

So strong of darkness that you can hear it. Praise, Kek? I dint understand your praise to, Kek.
Ok, so I get that there's a lot of missing lines hence lacuna, but why is the same thing/lines read over and over and over? I had to keep checking my phone as I thought that maybe I rewinded the vid by mistake 🤷
Great reading btw. Thank you for taking the time to read this for us 👍
Repetition is common in these ancient stories because they were originally transmitted orally, and rhyming "choruses" were used to aid memory and accurate transmission.
Its nice hearing where the hebrew creation got its inspiration from❤
No, the Enuma Elish confirms what the Bible says by giving an independant description.
Marduk? ... interesting. That was a name reused for the most powerful being in a really cool 3rd person RTS called "Sacrifice" (made by "Shiny"). One of those cult classics in the early 2000's of gaming that never got its due... (probably in part b/c the difficulty to was much for most ppl)
ilr Marduk is also the name of a character from Tekken first introduced in Tekken 4.
Information control is certainly at play here.
I'm sure you're reading this from the book. However, " they" who control the flow of information, left their calling card.
This should not be written in old English /Shakespearian...
...but simply translated from (Aramaic) ...? ...or its original language straight to English!
The majesty of the language is a HUGE part of it's appeal. Enjoy it.
What is "Lakuna"? Besides (annoying) Please?
its means a word or a part of the text is missing. They use it to lacuna everytime a lacuna of lacuna is lacuna :D
