- There are several musical versions of this Dharani online but I have not found this version anywhere else. Hope you enjoy it.
This is commonly known as "Tibetan Great Compassion Mantra", but is more accurately the "Heart-dhāraṇī of Avalokiteśvara-ekadaśamukha" "圣十一面观自在菩萨根本咒".
I have added Chinese & English text for easy following and for those who wish to learn the mantra and to connect to its outer meaning. I have done my best research for content accuracy but I am not a good practitioner and cannot claim that they are 100% correct, especially the mantra section - "Tayatha Om... Svaha".
Traditionally, mantras are not translated because of several reasons. However, it is my wish that anyone who sees the outer meaning of the mantra will be inspired to learn and practise.
If you really wish to understand more about this Dharini, you are advised to seek out a qualified Buddhist teacher.

that is the original version of one of the mantras associated with Valokite and is one of the Da Bei Zhous.
hmm is the current 84 Chinese characters one.

This video that we converse on, is another mantra associated as da bei zhou.
Because of the fact that it is the shortest few, it's already in it's original version.
@@Zantetsukens However, they are called da bei zhou only because they were introduced by Valokite, who were a bodhisattva representing the more compassionate side of bodhisattvas.
These set of mantras and Heart sutra she introduced back then have no direct connection with being compassionate.

Us bodhisattvas can only reach as high as the highest heavens. All heaven deities can only watch the buddhas in universe and not penetrate the membrane.
As for B.Tech Kumar, do understand that you don't get to choose where you born unless you have paid homage to all dhatagatebeh (commonly known as all arahats/buddhas) and took the bodhisattva vows.
I have been reciting this mantra for at least two years now. I love this mantra and the energy that it exudes, however, I want to point out that the mantra recited in this video is actually the "Eleven-Faced Avalokitesvara Heart Dharani Sutra" or "佛說十一面觀世音神咒經"
This is NOT the Great Compassion Mantra. I realized this mantra has been wrongly labeled in predominantly among Chinese-speaking Buddhists. There is nothing wrong with this mantra, I will still recite it and practice it, but I hope more people will label this mantra correctly as the "佛說十一面觀世音神咒經" or the "Eleven-Faced Avalokitesvara Heart Dharani Sutra"

Note: for the "Arahate" portion, the H is silent. So, "Ara-ate". If J is first letter, pronounce as Je. Pronounce "ratna" as "radna".

Translation for humans:
Reverence to the Three Treasures.
(buddhas, sangas, earth Dharmas)
Reverence to the saintly wiser, very first buddha from the very first Earth, Ra(light) to any sanga(practitioner groups), Vairochana(great sun's guidance).
Honoured king of all completely freed beings.
Themself an arahat(a being not lower than complete light), equivalent as a buddha.
Reverence to all completely freed beings.
Themselves arahats, thus all equivalent as buddhas.
Reverence to the arya (saintly) Valokite (all-seeing) -shvaraya (a sage/heaven guardian), a bodhisattva (a bodhi aspirant/saint), a being of greatness, a great-compassionate being. Thus, the mantra(mindset) goes: "It's said, oh, be diligent, focus and steady.
Bit by bit, march forward, push forward.
Bridge/cross over, towards the goal. Flowers(nice natural scent) surround us.
Freeing that one tiny flame in the heart/mind(the bodhi spirit), success!"

藏音大悲咒，或是藏传大悲咒则是十一面观音的咒语，这两者本来就是不同的咒语，称之为藏音大悲咒原是出于商人的包装。汉传佛教，也就是我们一般熟知的大悲咒是千手千眼观世音菩萨的咒语，来源是大藏经里的《千手千眼观世音菩萨广大圆满无碍大悲心陀罗尼》，观世音菩萨不管是化身为十一面观音或是千手千眼观音，都是大悲观世音，所以要将两个咒语都称为大悲咒，也不是不行，但是还是要知道不同之处。
