1. take putter straight back n through keep your head down
2. tee up as far right on tee box as possible
3. play a muni with easier greens n less bunkers

Tbh if he gains a little more speed and learns to putt better he can easily break 90. Any less than that is gonna require a lot of work
His bunker shots are an easy fix if you’ve never read How I play golf by Tiger woods he gives the best explanation on how to play a bunker shot.
I don’t think he needs more speed. Loses so much distance playing the slice and drives the ball 220 yards. He’s a big dude and was once an athlete.
@khuenguyen7921 That's what I meant, he needs more distance on his drives. Having a wedge or short iron in your hands everytime instead of a long iron or hybrid makes the game easier. It honestly won't take much for him to break 90, but any less than that is gonna take a lot of practice and technique change.
When Trent has a birdie putt, I tip my cap and say “nice bogey”
Hes a minimum 3 putt every hole...I blame Riggs and Frankie...They gassed him up so much on his putting, which is literally the worst part of his game now
I think Frankie might be THE worst guy to get Trent around in under 90 shots. Positivity is awesome, but there’s gotta be some understanding of goals and objectives.
Like at Trent’s putting ability, you’re not trying to make 12-20 footers. Forget about the hole, help get him dialed on speed. A lot of things like that.
We need Trent vs. Riggs breaking 90 series
They're basically exact opposites. Riggs loses all his shots off the tee and with long clubs. Trent loses all his shots from 150 in. If Trent would take a month and do nothing but short game work he'd break 90 first game out.

Watching Trent make it around the course with relative ease and then putt the way he does is hard man. If he committed to working on his putting stroke for just a few weeks this series would be over in no time

I agree that Trent slices his putts, which is insane, but he actually has some feel on every green in this match. If he putted like this he'd have actually broken 90 in this current attempt.

Trent with 958 putts through 12 holes and sitting just off the green with tons of grass to work with "I'm just going to putt this, you know disaster control" and proceeds to blast it 15 feet past the cup is just perfect golf content!

Trents swing has gotten SO much better in the breaking 100/90 series. The putting is what is keeping you from shooting in the 80s but damn you're so close brother. It will come!
He definitely sucks at putting but he needs to change his drive he doesn’t get enough distance and can barely ever get to the green on the par 4s
His swing hasn't changed a bit. His ball striking got slightly better because well, he golfs for a fucking living. But his swing is still terrible. Love the guy, love watching, but for fucks sake, need to make some changes to lower your score.

He's had them with one of the best coaches out there. He's just lazy. If he practiced his putting at home at all over the winter he wouldn't come out first round this year with that same cut-slice putting stroke.
@philo_beddoe4367 easily...nobody is asking him to 1 putt more 7 to 10 footers...just don't 3 putt...a winter of practicing JUST speed even if his stroke is still subpar would shave strokes off his round like crazy
I love seeing how far Frankie has come mentally with his golf game. It still amazes me. It's all positive self talk, positive thoughts, and having a routine. Sounds simple, but I'm sure it was a lot of work
4 missed 3-4 footers and that 1 bunker. He's got it his season for sure. Awesome to see how much he's improved over the past few years.
Way more than 4. At least 7 or 8, it's so painful. You could let any 20 handicap do his putting and he would have scored an 89.
Get real dude. The access to top coaches, the best equipment and the best courses for 3-4 years now and he absolutely stinks.

Why doesn’t Trent play from the appropriate tees based on his distances?
Cool idea would be having Trent starting from the forward tees and hit a certain score and then work his way back. Like a modified graduation series

He is playing from the appropriate tees on 16 out the 18 holes out here

Trent is definitely much improved. It’s only a matter of time now. The thing I like about the series is that their friendship really seems genuine. Frankie wants him to succeed just as bad as Trent does himself. Golf is hard enough, then add all the eyeballs. Best of luck boys!

For those of you wondering how Trent ceases to improve, despite playing so frequently, it’s because he has very poor athleticism and natural ability, and he doesn’t make any changes to his swing. So breaking 90 will only happen with luck. He isn’t doing anything to better his game and drop his handicap. He’s just hoping that, strictly by luck, he’ll improve.

His ball striking has improved but he puts in 0 effort trying to correct his putting stroke
Even so if he'd just putt below average instead of absolutely awful he'd be close to 90.
I don’t think he practices very much. His ball striking has improved, but with professional instruction it sped up that process. I don’t see him as a guy grinding on the range or short game area.
I always turn these videos off after the first hole, once I realize Trent has made no changes to his swing or approach, and isnt at all working towards his goal. I’m not going to waste an hour wondering if it’ll be Trent’s lucky day or not. If he were actually serious about improving, I’d be invested and root for him. But at this point, it’s literally like watching a guy buy scratch off tickets and hope one of them is a jackpot. Put in some work and earn the score, or just do away with this series. Why would anyone want to watch someone try to lower their score, without putting in any work to become better. It’s golf. You don’t get better just by playing more. You just further solidify your current position the more you play. He’s just hoping that he’s going to magically become better from gaining more experience, but that’s not how golf works.
The dude is a TERRIBLE putter. If he can quit with the 3-4-5 putts he could probably get close. He may be the worst putter I’ve ever seen!

The putting is still atrocious. No touch, the mechanics are awful, the green reading sucks. Dude hasn't worked on his short game at all and it shows every time they film one of these.
SO frustrating to watch. Feels like he doesn't care to actually improve. Like Trent, you KNOW you fade the ball 25 yards minimum every shot. WHY not try to fix that!!!! This is not to mention the god awful putting and bunker shots. End of day, I love the series but its getting harder and harder to watch. Good luck brother.

Trent - you’ll get there buddy. If you can dial in the putting you’ll be there sooner than you think. You’re pulling a lot of putts and the ones you don’t pull, you’re pushing to over-compensate. You may look at changing the grip on the putter to the Flat-Cat grip. It’s a rectangle and can really help you with target line. It helped my putting tremendously. Look forward to the next one!
