If I had ONE quibble, it's that that music is borderline annoying. Excellent video otherwise. Trying to decide between Popl and Linq although I think Popl's the clear winner right now.
Your missing the most crucial point. Which one connects to the most phones? I have popl and phones need the NFC settings on and none seem to have it on to make it work. So far its useless. I wanted to know if linq connected better. ♡
You're right, and in that regard I don't think they differ at all. For either product, an iPhone's NFC reads up top and an Android reads in middle. With Androids, you'll have to ensure NFC is turned on first. The age of the device matters as well. Linq does provide a list of compatible phones, can't find such a list on Popl. buy.linqapp.com/pages/nfc-device-list
I have an iPhone 12 Pro and someone presented an Ovou card to me today. My phone (supposedly) has the NFC reader on by default, as I cannot find the settings nor any documentation from Apple. I used the camera to scan his QR code instead, went through a laborious signup process on Ovou's website (generating a unique password, saving in my password manager, creating a profile on their app, etc.), and at the end of it all, I had no contact for this person (who is the CEO of major tech company). Where was the breakdown here? We are both tech savvy people with the latest smart phones, and we couldn't figure this out.
Popl has jumped so far ahead of linq in the ~year since this video came out. They’re the only “real company” in the space, and their rate of innovation is unmatched. Popl for the win IMO
@@MeltedCrown I think so! Would pay close attention to the Popl x Moft, Popl x Nomad, Popl x Materik collaborations. Moft similar to pop socket concept but easily removable and more versatile; Nomad is the perfect low key/minimalistic design, and Materik is a bit more luxurious, as it is made with actual mother of pearl. I think the “business card” is only a small component, and I prefer the tech being used in conjunction with my phone since it’s a more intuitive place for it to be when exchanging numbers. Also, with their lower cost of better products, being subsidized by a low cost subscription, is preferable to me. It’s the same subscription fee, but I get to switch between multiple products seamlessly, and also upgrade to new ones that I like, as opposed to paying a lot more for something upfront like some of the other brands, and then kind of being stuck with it a year later as the space is rapidly improving with more creative use cases. I’d also really dive into the tech itself. The app is great and with Popl Pay, Teams, Lead Gen etc. functionality feels like owning a Tesla. I buy a product, and the underlying tech keeps improving.
@@iykyk_nb The biggest draw for me was the wristband which made it easy for me to swap info on the go. That was the biggest reason I liked @linq more but they have since made upgrades to the band that have made it smaller and more uncomfortable to wear. Also, I'm not an iPhone user so most of those cases wouldn't appeal to me anyway. The dots and such are novelties in my opinion and I don't really see myself using them in the long run. I'll check out some of the newer products coming out, and you're right, the technology is there they just have to figure out the best way to package it.
@@MeltedCrown Fair point, and everyone has their own preferences! Even though Popl does offer a wristband as well, which I also have and use often enough. However, for me I always have my phone in my hand, or I’m often checking it, and it’s actually an easier logical jump to exchange info with somebody else who’s unaware of the tech entirely. While I like that Popl offers the card, wristband etc. I believe that phone attachments or accessories are the best vehicles of the tech, and that the underlying tech is intrinsically superior, alongside having quicker rates of innovation than others. But again, since Popl does offer your personal choice as well, I don’t consider that to be a differentiator, regardless of which products I tend to gravitate towards.
Please refund my money This has never worked It took over three weeks to just get to me and over 30 scans and it opened on 3 phones. I am a small business and if i am going to spend money the ROI and to be better than than This is like you test drive a car, the car dies in the parking lot of the dealership and they charge you for the car anyways. I am sure that there are better alternatives to this, this is gawd awful
Please make more comparison videos like this. I think you can be really big on RUclips if you keep up these type of videos.

Linq uses QR code for older phones and NFC for newer phones
