Perfect! My brakes that have been out of whack for a couple of years because I was avoiding going to get my bike serviced professionally are now fixed! Took 10 mins. Thanks!
Thank you! I have just replaced, my first set of brake pads on my Shimano 105 road bike brakes, and this video gave me exactly the help I needed for final adjustment. Excellent cinematography. Very well done. Thanks again.
So I'm a mountain biker and used to disc breaks. Bought a road bike for touring and when the back breaks jammed on I didn't have a clue. Watched your video - Sorted. Brilliant.
just bought a new Canyon road bike and the front brakes were too tight. Spent ages looking at the manuals and trying to figure out how to fix it until I came across this video. Great job. Now I'm finally ready to go!
Thanks so much for your help. My friend told me he saw a video that would help me fix my brakes and this could have been the perfect one. Now I can ride easy and free.
Awesome video! Extremely helpful! My mother’s rim brakes were rubbing on our ride today, I watched this video and was able to adjust the caliper In a couple minutes! Thank you very much, Friend!
Yeah I think this is the best brake tutorial I've seen yet, I mean its not a terribly complicated procedure but this vid really hits the nail on the head my brakes are perfect now.
Thanks friend! This was short, sweet, and had a great camera angle. My bike didn't adjust in 100% the same way, but a bit of trial and error showed it was basically no different to my wee fixie!
THANK YOU. I am relatively new to road bikes coming from a mtb. I assembled my Domane 2.0 myself, but severely needed to tighten my breaks. This was exactly the info I needed.
Thanks this video helped me out went through 5 or 6 videos before I found yours that showed me how to adjust the lever throw through cable tension. For some reason after a crash (maybe cause I rode home with a warped rim) the rear brake lever throw was way out of whack (loose) this helped me get things right!
Great video, I like having the brakes lock down on the rim when the the sti lever is almost all the way back. Gives plenty of room so I dont get brake rub when climbing and putting out the watts.
Ok, so Ive squired a new pinarello with 105 shimano group set. Should have asked the store to sort it out there and then but was too excited to take it away. Problem with mine is that my brakes are really stiff to pull on and becomes a bit of a chore when going downhill as I have to brake far too early because of the strain it causes on my hands. All cables are internal as well, not sure if the cables are just too tight or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
This bike was really easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
i have an old used bike the screws are nothing like what this video is showing. it needs a wrench to take off the brakes but their so rusted over i cant even bloody take them off!
Best, clearest explanation on brake adjustment that I've seen on YT. Thanks you!

I hate when you have to go to the bike store to fix something simple in 5 minutes and they charge you like 25 bucks
just spent an hour trying to sort my brakes then thought id try youtube. Now sorted so thank you for stopping me going insane! cheers
I love how simplicity of this explanation. Even a 5 year old could understand

After I fast forwarded past the cheesy intro, it was all quality content and non cheesy. Thumbs up!
Short and sweet, and covered enough ground. Excellent.

I have older Shimano 105 caliper brakes that won't center over the wheel. They always push and rub on one side. Any ideas?
I can't help cause I have the new one, they are a bit different though.
Great vid thanks for the help
thanks got to fix the the brake on the handlebar

Daly Dale you probably solve it by now but that may just be a too tight cable. try ajusting the barrel or the cable.
good stuff ima noob when it comes to adjusting brakes on bikes
Thanks for this.
Fantastic!!! very good^^
Why does MJ Sweet look like he's about to give me the RKO? (MR Sweets sure look a bit like Randy Orton) =P
Great -- thank you!
Great perfect many thanks

thx god I found this vid
Thanks for this!
At 2:01 the brakes don’t stay centered when i hit brake lever the cable side rubs. If i center the caliper they go right back to rubbing
my brake doesn't have the center adjusting bolt; only one side moves the other doesn't spring back. What am I doing wrong?
Awesome - thanks!
What tool does he use to adjust the caliper where he goes in the top of the forks?
What if my Ultegra brake (front) does not have the adjustment bolt at the back of the fork? How do I adjust them to touch the rim at the same time?
Lee van Schoor they have to have it, otherwise, how is it held on the fork? sneak a long 5mm allen key inside the hole at the back of your fork
I finally stopped paying that $20 to get my brakes adjusted at the bike shop!!
thanks. What does the allen bolt on the right hand side of the brake do? The bolt that's just above the tyre on the right hand side at 2:16?
123a the little tiny one is a micro adjust ment. The big one actually holds the piviots together so don't mess with it
Thank you Sir!
What is the rubber on those wheels? The red stripes would also compliment my all black Felt F5.
perfect video
Thanks a lot!
Thanks
Hi sweetsbench, i have buy a new brake shoes for my bike brake, but still not stop, what have to do ? plz help.
What do you need brakes for? They're only gonna slow you down! I cracked up lol :)
take of the brakes if u hate yourself
And just want to end it all down a fast lane
thank you very much
Does the rim on a fixie get worn out
Great tips
Can someone tell me why my bike shop likes to leave my rear brake pad super close to the rim? Within two weeks they start rubbing.
What if the spring isn't broken and the caliper won't return???
excellent.
This is it. Overlook all those other junk vids peeps.
The "nut" part of your caliper bolt may be too long. They come in different sizes.
thanks man
i have an old used bike the screws are nothing like what this video is showing. it needs a wrench to take off the brakes but their so rusted over i cant even bloody take them off!
Ash Lilyvale same
BEST...
Are you doing any more vids like this ?
Thanks guys :)
My brakes always jump to one side, even after tightening the bolt in the back.. help pls
When I apply brakes, only one side of the brake pad goes towards the rim. Also, they're very squeaky
Ok, I think my caliper spring is busted according to your video :(
yeet
2:09
Is that dr Steve Brule?
Excuse me why do I have disc brakes
