Really wholesome to hear how much fun it was to go play Edison in person. Hope similar events keep springing up until Konami is forced to give us Edison product!
At the 250th YCS in LA, we fired off over 100 8 man Edison tournaments. By far eclipsing every other alternative format they hosted except rivalry. It was by far better than advanced
Edison was pretty much perfect balance of combo and backrow considerations, destroying by battle mattering, small chips in LP adding up and not a giant OTK turn
The entire game around that time was great. Things didn't change as rapidly back in the day. Stuff like Blackwings or Gladiator beasts were playable from 2007-2011 so you could really master a Deck. If you like Edison you should check out formats like Tengu Plant format aswell. It's a bit faster hand you have the first view real handtraps in the form of effect veiler and maxx c in the format. I understand that some people dont like that but giving it a shot doesnt hurt. ;)
@@ChrisSaur being forced to play tengu plant by a friend because i was the only person they knew that knows how to play yu-gi-oh! is what ignited an intreset into the game for me that goes beyond surface level
Thanks for hosting this event Joshua, sadly Karlsruhe was a bit too far away from me but I enjoyed the Stream so much! Hoping to see you host another one at one time in the future! Edison is just such a lovely Format.
I remember this format and I think this takes the top spot in my 'favourite decks' category alongside Wind-Up and Qliphort. That hero engine is pretty spicy too! Overall, love the build, takes me back to a great time in my life.
I wonder what goats irl record is like? Not a hater it would be great if we could get big enough numbers at Edison or goat (or both) to get Konami’s attention. Would be so hype to get better official recognition and advertising for the formats. If goat has got these sort of numbers irl before it makes it feel less likely.
Had Time Wizard at my locals like once a week this entire month, and each time wizard event had a pretty good turnout (I think it was Tengu-Plant, Edison, GOAT and HAT). Older formats appeal to older players, and even current advanced-format players probably also used to play older formats.
Indeed. This is such fun and good, diverse and well balanced format. Sadly not many ppl playing it here in asia. Im kinda curious about other formats too, mostly time wizard and tengu if they are as good as edison. I dont like goat tho, too slow for me. Edison has perfect balance. I also heard there is community for HAT format? Idk how that format goes, seems too modern already and game kinda fast....then again if top deck is HAT, prob fine as its a control deck.
yeah there is a HAT community. HAT has tons and tons of deck, funnily enough like you said the best deck doesn't play the strongest card in the format: soul charge
@@dvsavocs5290 ah i see. Soul charge already released that time eh? In HAT format, its at 3 or 1? i forgot. But yea looks interesting format too. Faster than edison ofc but seems still kinda managable. Soon after HAT format we had that popular DUEA format right? Wonder if there is community for that too. Back when nekroz, satellar, shaddol, BA, and qliphort are top 5 decks in the format. Quite fun times, game still can last 4-5+ turns too.
in lyon ycs we had day 2 a big edison tournament. there were 130ppl's around. it gets really popular and i hope really they will announce a edison ycs very soon! it will bring back alot of happy old players. of course i won the ycs lyon edison one with lightsworn. the old format has been solved, quickdraw dandy is not the strongest deck. currently evil diva & zombie are quit better. i think gladiators will be very good against it, i play them with icarus attacks and still doing good and undefeated. equeste, bestiari, gyzarus all winged beast, even dd crow lol.

They do Edison reprints, like with Deep Sea King Coelacanth and gave us Junk Archer reprint

We def do this in NA. Went to a PS5 tournament 2 weeks ago and a CR Baronne De Fleur tournament this weekend.

omg i loved wind uos
Edison is legit one of my favourite formats, it's so diverse and skill-intensive without being so difficult to learn that it turns newer players off.

Cyber valley at 3 with machine dupe to combo your tokens perhaps? Also great why the hamster as additionally valley fodder
I should convert my old 2015 Blackwing deck into an edison Blackwing deck. probably easier than making a DABL Blackwing deck.

disnt you play gemini spark in your deck or am I mistaken

Can you sort the featured matches into a playlist so its easier to find in the future?
done 👌

I couldn’t go due to the train strike. Had payed 300€ for the weekend in advance…
Regionals every week?
That's only because it's Germany lmao
