He was the best singer Ted ever had, too bad Ted is an asshole and could not accept Holmes, he has a great rock voice, Ted let his ego get in the way and always had to be center stage. There was a rockamentry where Ted got pissed at the light guys for having the spotlight on Derek, and not him. Thanks Derek for the memories.
@@douglascarter2216 I was talking about Teds ego getting in the way, Derek is alright, I knew a lot of musician that used to play with Ted, and they all said he was an asshole.
I got to see Ted W/ Derek on vocals and guitar back in the late 70’s a few times he made Ted famous his vocals were stellar. Also met Derek a few times at the Dallas Guitar Show he’s such a cool dude having time to stop and have chat with fans….👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Too bad for Derek and the world that Derek came across ”the other guy”. The other guy had some riffs, looks, stage prescence and a hell of an ego - so instead of getting a band of equals together, that could have become really big, it turned into a childish shitshow for ”the other guy”. Derek is a hugely talented singer - all the best to him!
If you ever want to know what happened to some of your favorite musicians just go to the Dallas Guitar Show there’s a good chance they’ll be there still rockin and kickin ass….🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
This was right outside of Market Hall at the Dallas Festival. It’s amazing there weren’t any crashes on I-35 right there. They absolutely rocked that stage.
How does this guy keep his voice so good after all these years? The real deal
Derek’s voice was amazing, his guitar sound was one of the biggest/best I’ve heard live, Mike Gage on drums…what a set!! So glad this made it onto YT.
A real legend! Thanks Derek for all the great music. Thanks for all the great posts!😊
Your welcome. Thanks for appreciating 🙂
The best blues I have ever heard
Iff this man was not on this earth, there was no famous Ted Nugent, wat a couple they where...... fantastic! 👏👏👏🤔
Yeah but ted doesn't play well with others he wants everyone to notice just himself 😊
@@user-rc1qq9pn7k the way you are rolling through this comment section I think you are projecting
Derek Is The Man who made Ted sound Good, Rock on Brother From Downriver, Cousin Figel
So true
All those cars in the background, in a hurry to get somewhere, not even realizing they are passing by greatness…

That's all water under the bridge. Ted and Derek still play gigs together, shoot guns, and are good friends to this day.
@@ChrisStokes07 I know, but Ted is a real good guitar player but he is still an asshole.
Such a smooth RnR voice🔥❤️

How cool is it to see Gary Howie playing Strangelhold with Derek St. Holmes.!,,✌👍
Great voice, still got it!

Very nice
Great Voice and such rich guitar tone.
Criminally underrated in so many ways. Ted screwed up letting his ego get in the way of keeping Derek to make great music together.
Blues Master!!! love their groove
2 exceptional guitsr badasses
Gary Hoey
Fantastic
tres bon j'adore

I'd much rather listen to this than mindless shred speed runs. Its more musical.
Derek and Gary shreddin' in D/FW,solid backing band,no Ted...what's not to enjoy?
Great quality on a cell phone camera 💯🎸🎤🎸
Thanks, appreciate it 👍🙂
You can only imagine if Derek would have gotten together with someone like Keith Richards and formed a band…Wowza.
Turn it up, turn it up..make it louder than hell😅
Nothing like playing a concert next to the race track...lol OMG. I bet he was thinking who the F booked me here?
Rock by the Road! WTF?

sup big D! got to Live It Up I see . .. rick on ...
Great person great singer great performer and guitar slinger. Ted Nugent's best singer
All cat 5 amps👍🏿
Whos the other guy on guitar ?
Gary Hoey
Sure is nice to hear Derek lay down some tasty blues licks without Ted Nugent constantly upstaging him! LOL!
lol..they wanna play the blues so bad.....and they do
I think if Derek and Ted were to cut heads Ted would get smoked but for that to happen Nugent would have to get his head out of his ass.
Ted aint sh*t
No disrespect to Derek but that other guitarist is pretty freaking good!
That's Gary Hoey, also a very good nationally touring guitarist
@@ExploreDFW I've heard of him but never seen him or heard him.......he's very talented.
