    I know the Shorts videos are a necessary evil these days but it's always better to see you back doing a proper build :-)

    Although the project is probably finished by now, A few years back I built a Space Ship/Mad Scientist Control Panel and for the displays I used Digital Picture Frames (Actually I built a Time Machine for another movie and mounted a Computer Monitor in it for a active, on camera display but that required a computer off camera.) for a "On Camera" changing display. I found/made pictures for the Picture Frames and loaded them in to the frame for display.

      Who needs a time machine when you can build your own space ship? You're definitely thinking outside the box with your projects!

    So cool. I have a resine 3d printer I never use. after watching the BTS for Slice (especially their awesome miniature set video) I've sort of been itching at doing stuff like this. I've mostly been editing (and mostly Foley which I really enjoy) for other peoples projects ... maybe I should get back to filming some stuff myself.
    This looks great.
    The guys at Red Letter Media should have hired you for Space Cop. LOL

    Quick thing in case it might show up in the final project: "Manual" (as in "manual override") doesn't have an e in it. It only showed up very briefly in the corner of a frame and in that font it could be an a and I'm just not seeing it correctly, but I figured I'd mention it now so you have time to fix it if you care. (Which I fully realize you might not care at all, in which case feel free to ignore this comment entirely 😁)

      perhaps it's an over-ride for his bellhop, who is from Barcelona.

    • @canuckotter
      @canuckotter 6 месяцев назад

      I did notice later on that there was a different piece with "manual override" spelled correctly so I suspect that he wasn't referring to his Spanish bellhop 😉

    Fantastic work, another on RUclips made a Control Panel/Console that controlled Kerbal Space Program, maybe you could use that same method to do "Spacey Graphics" on your panels ..

  • @TheMichaellathrop
    @TheMichaellathrop 6 месяцев назад

    So two questions, first do you think your dial reading marks would just get filled in by two coats of sandable filler primer, and second does the laser your using work with acrylic plastic?

    Cardboard works better

    • @glenbartram5362
      @glenbartram5362 6 месяцев назад

      I was gonna say the same thing. Not that the laser cut & etched stuff isn’t cool, and for the relief detail stuff it’s definitely beyond what you can achieve with cardboard, but it feels like you can get something 90%-95% as good without the $2.5k-$20k outlay for a laser cutting rig.
