The PhD Annie was working with said parental alienation is abuse and that presents a serious psychiatric emergency for a child. The mom said she was fine with joint custody as long as the dad takes parental classes. With the mom wishing for Alison to attend in-person school and get her out and about with people in a situation that Annie said that she felt was a parental alienation situation, well that was not likely to take months or years, as Annie said she wishes for Alison to be able to go to a physical classroom, take AP and honors classes, and have the chance to participate it sports and debate and just be out in the world like she used to. He gave off the vibe of is this going to take longer than it takes for me to run some gel through my hair because I've no further time after actually sassily saying I feel sorry for your kids Mr. Police Officer with the messed up attitude YOU have. Boy how different he sounded when he knew the world was watching. It's crazy how an intelligent 15 year old's rights to parental preference and communication of abuse of the other parent is taken lightly. To the point that a subjective (perhaps financially influenced) judge and aggressive officers are forcefully scaring her to meet with a Psychiatric Evaluator to be institutionalized against her will per the request of the abusive mom, and order of the judge.
Let me repeat... 15 years old, communicating being unsafe from mom, clearly traumatized, yet still very cognitive of her decision, yet they want to force her to be institutionalized and incapacitated to force her to go to an abusive environment.
Here's the kicker... Law Enforcer says that she is under 18 and does not have the capacity to have a choice to refuse the court order... YET CALIFORNIA is allowing 8 to 12 year old pre-teens with actual mental health issues to be groomed by State and County School Officials (against their parents will) to have the capacity to permanently mutilate their bodies when they aren't even fit to make these kinds of irreversible decisions. And if the parents aren't supportive of the Affirmation BS, they can be taken away from their homes and parents.
What a backwards world. California 2024… Ironic isn’t it?

She doesn't realize that she just caused the city to waste 500k if not more in this witch hunt. Not to mention all the resources and time the volunteers wasted on her as well. All the wasted resources could've gone to people who actually were in need of being found like all those kids on the milk cartons who never got any media attention because they are a minority. I bet not even a fraction of the amount of resources that were used finding this Chao girl was ever spent on one of those kids who belong to the minority group on the milk cartons.

Alison, I know this is really tough to understand right now, but sometimes adults make mistakes, like deciding to divorce. Even though your parents might not be living together anymore, remember that they will always love you, no matter what. I went through this myself when I was your age, and it broke my heart to see my parents splitting up. But as hard as it was, I learned that sometimes adults are just doing the best they can. It might take some time, but as you grow older, you'll start to see things more clearly. You are strong, and you will get through this, and one day, you'll understand that love doesn't change just because people live in different places.
