I wouldn't put Grievous so low on the list, but he definitely belongs on it. That underscaling is criminal. Black Series could've contended with the model kit if it weren't for that issue
I just picked up the rerelease and I’m quite happy with it. He can stand and pose. Getting some really great poses actually. I love it!
Considering how "big" of a character he is in the prequel era...such an important and prominent character deserves much better. I do think the sculpt is there but it's laughably small! -Justin

I understand he towers over people, but he’s still taller (just barely) than my 6-inch figures when he’s hunched, let alone standing tall
Just my take on it, I’m happy that I got him nonetheless, the split arms thing (something not a lot of people like) is awesome in my opinion
I only have IG-11 and Grievous, so that's a cool thing. Lol. Grievous was one of the first figures I got and was excited to get him, then of course he can't stand up, but thank goodness for stands. Oh man, that Poe figure is gonna give me nightmares. Lol. Great list of bad figures. 👍

I agree with all of your choices but I have one addition that should be getting in there somewhere…. forgive me if I get the name wrong I try to not think about this figure.. Moloch from Solo: a Star Wars story… talk about a traffic cone!! Not much else to say about it. I’m just so glad that I got it
on clearance for a couple bucks!!

Great episode guys. Over the years there certainly have been some stinker figures. Poe is a thing of nightmares and i have never liked the IG droids, they are so inaccurate its embarrassing .Thank god for today's face printing tech and sculpting, most figures now are fantastic they make the older figures look like they are from a different manufacturer and line altogether!

Slave leia hurts cuz I could use her for a diorama but she’ll never be reproduced & I’m not paying 2nd market price for her. Some figures are priced ok. But people think she’s gold, but she is terrible. I like the 1 that has 2 sets of legs (1 for sitting & another for standing) but that’s 3 inch. However I have a 3 inch hut dio too.
Terrible figure, the only thing that can save it is a new sculpt!....holding out hope. -Justin
I started collecting the Black Series when the line first started, but then dropped out around 2015 / 2016. Some of those early figures were great, but there were so many disappointments - the first Vader (on this list), Slave Leia (on this list), the first Emperor. . . When the figures for Force Awakens started coming out, I just found myself not caring anymore. For me, it wasn't out of hate for the movie, it was how low-effort the figures were. I'm starting to get back into the line now, seeing how great most of the newer figures are.
Yeah the introduction of photo-real really helped the line. I think 2020 onward have been the best years for the Black Series! -Justin

As always I would like to add archive Cody to this list of the bad. Pretty sure you could recreate the toxic waste scene at the end of robocop if you drove a radio controlled car at it at speed, things made of jelly I’m sure if it.
The gummy legs of Cody are so bad. I don't think the sculpt is necessarily bad though...just needs better quality plastic. Thanks for watching as always, Tim! -Justin
This was a fun list! Very well-ordered, too. My list would look very similar, but I would replace the clone with the Mandalorian Loyalist (the cables on the arms snap and he can’t stand up on his own at all). Great video as always, gents! -Tommy

These are definitely the worst I agree. I’d pay to have all of these completely redone. A few more terrible figures would be ROTS Anakin and Obi-Wan, Darth Maul, and the original Emperor Palpatine. It’s a shame that these big characters had/have terrible figures.

Good point with the Clone Lieutenant on the shade of blue they used. I think it's really something that flew over my head and it's a bit funny because the Lego minifigure of the Clone Lieutenant DOES use the correct shade of aqua blue. Bit of a shame Black Series couldn't get it right

What a controversial video!! Clo-none and Greeffus! I'm here to hate on the sequels!! Show me the hate!!! THE HATE!!!!!! Having purchased "Boldoh" a while ago, I can agree the figure isn't actually bad. No idea about Tico, but dear me, that Poey is rough!! I'd still have Dan's Poe centre-stage as it's not even bad, just hilarious! Definitely a talking point. No blue line kenobi? That was bad. I'm still gutted I passed on it for 5 quid from my local toyshop. Would love to have it boxed on shelf to highlight the line's progression....Excellent video chaps! I watched it in my newly completed shower over the bath area as a test for my phone holder. It passed and I laughed out loud a few times!! Always a bonus gentleman. And now I'm clean and shiny!

Yep my Grevious left leg snapped when trying to stand him..all glued and stands ok..the rubber in the IG units are rubbish yet they use them in the Hyperreal line?..with Vader...the Christmas and soon to be released Halloween line..are just one word...sh!t..cheers fellas 🍺🍺🍻

The reason the clone lieutenant is on the old clone trooper body is so I can be consistent with the clone sergeant, clone captain, and clone commander.

Disney said (I’m sure most know) they will no longer release any slave leia toys or merchandise….same with Hasbro saying they will not release anymore hooded cobra commander figures so don’t expect him in the classified line (there are 3D printed heads you can get)
Did they ever relase that as an official statement? If so could you send the link? I'd love to see it. The Hasbro SW team said there was no ban on her merchandise in a recent Q & A. -Justin
Good list! Such a shame that we’ll never get a decent Leia (slave outfit) or Grievous unless customized. I’ll throw a few more out for your consideration.
1) Jabba - scalp is undersized, no tail articulation & no throne or Salacious Crumb. This was one of the first deluxe figures with nothing deluxe but the price.
2) Han/Luke (Hoth) - the likenesses were both atrocious. Luke has the stupid cloth scarf glued to his helmet & does nothing. Han has the stupid split back hood. The Taun Taun looks decent but is almost impossible to stand. Another of the first deluxe sets but really both of these are crap.
3) Wampa- not sure how they screwed up a creature so badly that has been made numerous times over 40 years but the blood makes him look like he just came from a Hoth pie eating contest & the useless removable are gimmick is moronic.
4) Every R Series Astromech - I love that we’re getting more versions and the first R2 had a ton of accessories. Every one of these has been undersized, now none of them come with any accessories yet they still have the stupid dome panels that fall out and are never found again. The retractable 3rd leg was a really bad design that we keep carrying forward 🤬
5) Yoda - They have made like 4 releases to date and can’t get the scale or skin color correct. The articulation or lack there of is laughable for a main saga character. How have we not gotten a prequel version released?
Honorable Mention - Kuiil - How can the first Ugnaught produced be a new character from tv show who’s killed off after a few episodes & totally ignore the OT version? I also feel that like Yoda, he’s not to scale and the articulation is lacking.

Nah Nate, that's over-stating it about IG-88/11's legs never being the same after warping, no...? I had to straighten 11's legs with a hair dryer after some time in the bin, but with pointing his and 88's 'toes' outward at a 10 and 2 o'clock position, their legs haven't bowed inward, they're parallel with his torso and arms.
Granted though both these figures are at the back of the formation on my display, and don't have their lower halves visible, so the odd-stance isn't a deal breaker for me ha
Still though, would absolutely second that collectors really consider which figures they put in a storage bin for long durations, maybe you saw that pic of my busted up 3rd IG droid on Discord... a bucket of bolts now lol

I am happy to say I own 3 of the 10. "Sad eyes "Vader, Clone Trooper Ltn and "Slave" Leia. All purchased new when released and not on secondary market. I may look for the others just as a badge of honor. Lol.

I think Poe's head sculpt is meant to simulated his bruised up face. The paint apps didn't compliment this either though....🤷♂️

Great video, every criticism of General Grievous is justified. As much as I like the figure, Hasbro really fumbled the bag. It's a huge shame too because it's a figure I can't see Hasbro completely reworking from head to toe in the future.

Poe Dameron was one of the first Black Series I bought. I still have the figure, but I just keep it in a box somewhere, it's not on display. If you just think of it as a random pilot, it's not so bad, or if you keep the helmet on, but it looks like the facesculpt came from Hasbro asking a child to draw Oscar Isaac from memory.

I started last year I'm glad too if I invested in the beginnings they are trash except the aliens . Then going further back to the 2000s horrible looking. The retro ones are acceptable because they are rare but no one will pay thousands for 2000s star ears in future like they pay for the original kenner cardbacks from the 70s 80s.

Hasbro may have had slave Leia on the list but we will never know how many votes she got, and if Hasbro wanted and Disney allowed her, she would have been made for the archive line by now. The head and hand are different but that’s it! I’m most looking forward to BK and the Cobb and Cad 2 pack. -Nate
While they didn't fix the size of the figure the clone Wars grievous does fix pretty much everything else. The legs are much more stiff, it matters less that the hilts are generic, and he does just posse better. Plus you can even argue the fact that because it's the animated clone Wars a doesn't need to be as big as he was in the movie because that version of him more was just tall and looming. So you can just straighten the legs
I think for the importance of the character and how iconic and prominent he is, the painfully underscaled nature of the figure ruins it for me. -Justin
Ahh the old archive fan vote... when we could have had countless head sculpts upgraded with photo real and the fan base overwhelmingly voted for... Cody (sigh).
That's almost as bad as when they had the Empire Strikes Back poll to get any figure from arguably the best Star Wars movie (Lobot anyone) and the fan base voted for Dagobah Luke Skywalker (another sigh) cause ya know, they NEVER would have made him lmao.
It was definitely disappointing that Cody won the fan vote. I mean...we could have banded together and chose Leia (Slave Outfit) but we didn't. Oof. And yeah I do think that's the best Luke figure but they probably would have made him anyway. We still desperately need Lobot! -Justin
Would’ve put one of the RC’s in place of grievous ngl. Isolated they’re fantastic and they’ve got great articulation but since they use the hunter mold they look so much scrawnier than they should.

100% of the figures on this list are before photo-real and/or not featuring photo-real, such as the clone. The modern Black Series faces look pretty great! -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement pretty sure Hasbro had access to digital face scans during the time of TFA and the Poe on your list. I’m not referring to face printing. And as for the modern head’s being better, yeah but a lot of them still look almost nothing like the actor or actress. Like most of the Kenobi’s look nothing like Ewan, he even said so himself. Also, they can’t seem to get Mark Hamill right from figure to figure. Sometimes they get close then the next is off.
From a purely functional (or lack thereof) standpoint, I have to say the K2SO and New Republic Security Droid are high on my dislike list simply because they will not stand. My Disney store exclusive K2 style droid (can't remember his designation) actually broke at the knee from a fall. I would also say all of the Poe Dameron figures were pretty bad. I use the version with the black jacket as a stand in for Toro Calican 🤣
I somehow someway have both K2SO and the New Republic Security Droid standing up perfectly fine! I don't know how I did it, but the I must be at the perfect center of gravity point for those figures, haha. Thanks for watching, Kaleb! -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement that's great to hear. I gave up on K2 and put him on a stand. I got one of my security droids to balance but the other one I tried everything and finally put him on a peg stand. It's funny though, my grievous stands just fine. I have him a sort of hunched pose w/ his hands clasped behind his back like he did often in clone wars. I guess the saying "YMMV" applies to figures too?

Poe "Uni-brow" Dameron looks ridiculous... 🤣🤣🤣 The only two of these I have are the Clone Lt. and IG-11. Both are not that great by any means. The rest of the list are ones that I'm fine with not owning. Even Grievous! I have no interest in a figure that's going to be on the floor every day. Great video!

I’m gonna need to dig out my boxed original blue line figures to see if I have that puppy dog eyes Darth Vader…😂…that actually might be one of the very few blue line figures I’m still missing from my collection. I know it’s a horrible figure, but man now I want it if in fact I don’t have it. That’s the completionist in me coming out….😬.

I got the original jyn erso in an ebay auction with the figure I actually wanted (sabine wren). No doubt that person was just trying to offload it. At first I was like cool extra fig I don't have, but between the jacked up knee and it just generally being SO boring as a figure that has to be my number 1 worst TBS. I'm glad it's a rarity I'm unimpressed with the design of this line.

I def think we need a new grievous. When I first started collecting black series back in February he was one of my most wanted and then after finally getting him I was very disappointed.

Out of the figures I have, the one that annoys me the most is the Mimban Trooper Han Solo. Those elbow joints are sucktastic. They look terrible in most poses. Then Hasbro used the same arms on the Morak Migs Mayfeld. Gragh! Super annoying cos I really dig both figures otherwise.

The old clone body is better imo, the mold and helmet looks more accurate than the new one, plus the new mold gets dirty easily

Still, while I enjoy the Disney plus shows, the sequel trilogy did almost killed the line.
I still know some stores near me that still have General Leia or officer Finn rotting on their shelves.
I'll take that Vader over them any day. Especially if it's mint.

Zalbar is hands down the worst black series figure to me. lazy repaint of a bad Chewie body. His accessories have minimal paint apps and just overall look cheap and very toy-Esque. Bottom line just looking at this figure compared to about any other black series figure and it almost doesn’t even look like the same toy line. Just gives off a really cheap vibe.
I'd agree that there really isn't anything special to the Zaalbar figure but I do think it's sort of cool to get such a deep-cut obscure character from an older Star Wars game. Thanks for watching, Jhawkjedi! -Justin
Hello Nate and Justin thanks for sharing your thoughts on the 5 worst black series figures. You guys are right those are some very bad figures. As bad as the IG figures are I still like mine. IG-88 is my favorite bounty hunter, it would be great if he was proper height and if he could hold his axe 🪓. IG-11 should have been a new sculpt and taller but I just can't hate him. I'm hoping for a Vader 40th Jedi with either removable helmet or a second swappable head with the chain cape. Thanks again and I'll catch you Sunday, Tom

Worst figure i personally have is *probably* Cody. I love his design, his sculpt, the personality; everything would be perfect... if he could stand worth a shit. Gummi legs, loose thighs and he's the ONLY BS figure i have whose foot peg holes are too big for regular stands meaning he's the only one i had to glue on his stands for display purposes.
Honorary mention goes to Hutslayer Leia (Hutsleia) who... well you know. But i got mine for 10 bucks at a comic toy thing and that's a pricetag i can't complain over.
Second honorary mention goes to my Archive 501st Trooper whomst i found for 70 Euro in a comic shop a solid week before they started arriving in local-ish online stores for retail (roughly half of what i paid) and who's objectively inferior in every way to a bootleg clone at a quarter of the price. But maaaaaan the experience of finding a beloved clone in the wild made it worth it to levels that make me do a concern over my financial future. I can rant about the bootlegs being superior for hours but there's something magical about a successful hunt.
Commander Cody's gummy legs are horrible! Mine actually doesn't have a problem standing though. It's crazy that Slave Leia used to be a peg-warmer back in the day! Thanks for watching, Commander Rotal. Have a good weekend! -Justin

And i can see *why* she peg-warmed; i don't mind the pegs and joints, it's still a toy ^^ but that face is nightmare fuel (same "convention" i broke my 1-figure-per-character rule and got a Hoth Leia for 20 Euro as well for my actual display; Huttsleia is currently sitting on the back banches behind Daddy Vader having a polite chat with my Heavy B1 Battledroid.) One of these days i want to see if i can't replace it. Just have to finance a tortoise home first.

Fellas you're killing it with the videos great job. I don't hate the clone lieutenant but I can see how you made your list. My worst in no order. That Luke Skywalker with the removable chest plate from Return of the Jedi oy his Disney princess eyes. Episode 3 Obi-Wan oy that head. The (I believe) Target exclusive trash compactor Luke oy that face. General Grievous won't stand. Episode 3 Anakin Skywalker How on Earth do so many skywalkers make the list Face of the Franchise. Alas... R2-D2 tooooo small. And he got knocked over one day When I was not home one of his blue top pieces was lost. Those pieces should fasten in with a click they are so loose. I rolled out the wallet to buy another R2-D2 but no matter how many I buy I'm still short one blue cap in his head. So I have to display one with one of the very meh gimmicks. Will I die? Poe is crap! I only have him because I can put his helmet on and it's not as bad... I hate the first order stormtrooper body to lol! The knees on them are unforgiving.. They need to give IG-88 justice! He's from such an iconic film! And slap him in some galaxy packaging instead of the boring archive packaging. The attack of the clones Anakin is OMG wretched! He looks absolutely nothing to Hayden! They need to come out with an updated photo reel! I've really been waiting for Hasbro to do so.. 5th one is Rey when she comes in the 2 pack with Kylo, from the Battle scene at the end of the Force Awakens.. She just looks like shit! Flesh tone and even skin tight costume figures often look poor to me, as to the clone, there's no pass on that body when the new one was available. The general is a minor frail for me so I'll just ignore you there. Thanks lads, good vid.

Before i made a custom stand for my Grevious figure he almoat daily was the star of his own series called "the Rise and Fall of General Grevious"
One of my most disliked figures i own is red bow farm boy Luke. The potential for him was so high and what we gor was sad...TP covered tunic with almost no paint aps and one of the worst Luke Faces in the line.

Okay now I'm starting to think that you guys are obsessed with the blue clone trooper, how could you ever even put him in your top worse figures? When you guys should be busy with all the prequel figures,,,, considering the rise of Skywalker and the two other new films especially the force awakens, the photo real on all of them is horrible they don't even look like anywhere close to who they are supposed to be, also when the Black series first came out, none of them look like Luke Skywalker or Han Solo and that Poe dameron, are you kidding me? I would say aside from the Solo movie action figures which actually came out really well, everything else was garbage, photo real actually has done great things in the Black series, in fact, it may of saved the line as a whole, I understand you guys don't like the clone trooper because of his color and that is racist,,,,, 😂😆😂😆😂 jk I love watching you guys and I love being a subscriber
