  • Geoff revisiting The Nightmare Before Christmas once again and a song which I always felt showed the vulnerable side of Jack. Geoff is perfect for these type of songs and I always look forward to the Halloween uploads.
Original Song: • JACK'S LAMENT | Low Ba...

This video, beside making me cry like a baby TWICE every time (for different reasons), made me curious about the movie... Which I never watched. I think I'll do it ASAP. 🙂
Nice reaction, and I totally share the comments about Jack's vulnerability. ❤
Thank you, and see you next time.

Geoff wanted a hopeful ending that didn't exist in the song, hence the snowfall, reaching up to touch it and the beginning of a smile.

I've always found Jack to be an endearing character. He's spooky, scary and chaotic, but like all the residents of Halloween Town, he hasn't got a malicious bone in his body (pun intended.) 😄He genuinely just wants to help people have fun and be happy...his idea of how to go about it is just a little single-minded and warped, and he gets overenthused like an excited puppy and makes a mess.

Geoff really, really likes Halloween so most of this set at PattyCake is from Geoff & Kathy's home/yard decor. This gave Geoff the excuse to buy that pumpkin stack on the right he is building at the end, the spooky trees, more headstones, fencing, etc. He even bought that Moon. They did fill in with a few pieces that PattyCake had on hand like those pillars and another pumpkin stack not fully assembled on the right from the This Is Halloween video.

Pattycake apparently has a lot of gravestones! there was a pumpkin stack in this is halloween but they had 2 in this one as a stack and the other as separate pieces. Kathy of course sourced a lot of the stuff but the Castalucci household is awash with pumpkins at this time of year! ❤🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A lot of the props for the set came from Geoff and Kathy's house. I sure felt for him - I figure that once he hooks up with Sally that he will be happier.

VoicePlay has done two other songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas. This is Halloween is done in costume and What's This is done in makeup. And this video is one more to add to that video playlist.

Oops! My bad. I missed two other songs they did from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Oogie Boogie's song has Geoff's brother-in-law playing Sandy Claws. Kidnap the Sandy Claws features Rachel Potter. The guys are in costume for both. So that makes 5 songs from that movie, that I know of.

I love this but something rankles. It's the final line. it strikes me as being ungrammatical : The fame and praise come year after year Does nothing for these empty tears. It really doesn't sit well with me. can;t help it I'm afraid. It grieves me. :) But that's nothing to with Geoff. He didn't write the song. Is it just me?

I could be wrong, but I think that phrasing is less incorrect than it is archaic.

It's a singular/plural mismatch. "fame and praise" is somewhat indefinite, but the cue is "come"... to make it match, you'd need
"The fame and praise [comes] year after year..... [it] does nothing for these empty tears"
      or perhaps...
"The fame and praise come year after year... [they] do nothing for these empty tears"
