I have a 2018 Tahoe 5.3 85k And my bank1 sensor 1 is hotter than my bank 2 sensor 1. The cat was replaced due to p0420. But dealer didn’t find the issue. I did a fuel injector balance test. Bank1 is lower psi than bank 2. What you think?
I hope this helps anyone! I had done an engine swap and got this code after. It turns out the exhaust manifold was missing one nut out of 8 which caused a tiny exhaust leak which was hard to identify. Because of that missing nut the gasket wasnt being squeezed so it caused a leak. Crazy how the smallest thing can cause a CEL
I replaced the 02 sensors multiple times put the expensive OEM both upstream and downstream. I don’t see any leaks no rotten egg smell. I have 2019 Lexus es300h with 300k on the converter so it’s 99% the converter fried it’s annoying visit your dealer message you can’t get rid of on dash. This Lexus has been money pit another 1500-2500+ for my converter installed at a shop part and labor.

So as for bank 2... My live data graph shows both bank 2s stft at 99.2%. What does that mean and is it good or bad.. I'm new to live data about a week now lol. Thx
My Nissan Altima has started to die on me while driving it and as of lately the Timing chain is starting to make noise. Just was curious as to what chain of events commonly are the cause of that.? Thanks.!
Is the check engine light is on? If so, can you get the specific code? That would be the first step. Timing chain wise, could be the chain, could be a chain guide, cam position sensor, hard to tell without a code.
Hello my honda crv 2015 lost the acceleration going uphill although engine is still on without any lights. I scanned the code p0420. What could cause the acceleration stop but engine would still be running normal. I was getting transmission issue prior to that for few weeks. Any thoughts?
I think that’s the radiator. I had a ‘95 mustang that did that. Smoke came out from under the hood and even into the cabin through the vents. The radiator was boiling like crazy for me!
I have an 05 deville and I replaced the cat but the misfire was still there. Could a faulty oxygen sensor be the problem of the misfire? Code is po420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1. I'm sure my second cat is ruined aswell as I can't seem to find the problem. Thanks hope I make sense 😅
There was only one link, & it didn’t work… Was using a couple of expensive cat cleaners, every few weeks, for over 3 years, when I happened upon an inexpensive Lucas product that isn’t specific, & it worked faster & only used a tiny amount that lasted over 8 months. I don’t drive more than 15 miles a week, so that probably explains why the specific cat products usually took 60-70 miles before the light would go off.
I updated the links; thanks for letting me know. I've never tried Lucas before; I may have to get it a shot. Results can vary with that cleaner, but taking it out on the highway, letting the CAT get really hot, and then the engine exhaust blowing it out can often help.

Am I able to diagnose if I have a OBD reader without the graph like just a Walmart obd reader with live data or it needs to have graph capability?

While this p0420 code also cause the car to stall or bring about a p0106 to p0108 code?

It needs to be diagnosed, but they are likely separate issues. The acceleration problem sounds like a transmission issue, possibly due to low fluid.
My 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee has that code and when I accelerate sounds rough

A bad O2 sensor usually won't cause a misfire but can cause a P0420 code.
