    So talented and gone too soon. Lesley was so under appreciated as a singer, songwriter. RIP

    I always knew Lesley & her brother Michael wrote this heavenly song that I've loved since I heard Irene Cara sing it so beautifully, but I'd never heard Ms Gore sing it & accompany herself on the piano . I literally had to hold back my tears watching, listening & reflecting on her & how this dearest angel was taken from all of us much too soon. Rest in Peace - xo.

    I was 12 when Lesley hit it big with "It's My Party" in 1963. I bought every one of her Mercury albums as they were being released, and I still love them as much as ever on CD today as I did back then. Good music is forever. Lesley made sure of that!

    Has to be one of the best Lesley Gore performances of Out Here On My Own. Absolutely fabulous. Her voice has never sounded better.

      @JJ McCartney Her voice was always amazing, but this specific time in her career was the best! I've often wondered how different things would have been if the doggone "British Invasion" had stayed in England!

    Not positive, but believe this is from the early to mid 80's. Lesley's lyrics are timeless and beautiful and I think your observations are most likely true.

    Along with Dylan (of course) and Rhett Miller/Old 97's I have been obsessed with Lesley Gore from her beginnings. A very weak voice which actually improved with age, when Quincy Jones was asked to comment on her talent he was reduced to noting her "perfect pitch".
    Don't care. Her pure pop material combined with a voice that has enchanted me since I bought her first album upon release.
    So many underrated songs: currently have got on loop "What Am I Gonna to Do With You".

    • @michaelmckenna7692
      @michaelmckenna7692 2 года назад

      Interestingly, Skeeter Davis (who was once married to Ralph Emery) had also recorded “What Am I Gonna Do With You”. Both ladies did a fantastic job with this almost forgotten, underrated song.

    when was this recorded? She was talking about writing and recording a new album but wouldn't that have been Ever Since? I'm curious because that was released in 2005... but I assumed this video was from years before that? but maybe not? idk but she slays every time

    her voice is beautiful but i wonder if after she had her nose done if the smaller narrower size affected her singing, maybe making it a little deeper. Also i noticed that she doesn't have the iconic way of singing out of the corner of her mouth. I liked that, and her original nose. Beautiful as she was in my opinion. A different beauty here
