I always knew Lesley & her brother Michael wrote this heavenly song that I've loved since I heard Irene Cara sing it so beautifully, but I'd never heard Ms Gore sing it & accompany herself on the piano . I literally had to hold back my tears watching, listening & reflecting on her & how this dearest angel was taken from all of us much too soon. Rest in Peace - xo.

So true, and she only improved with age! To think that in the 70's Helen Reddy had a tenth of Lesley's talent yet got ten times the recognition! "Someplace Else Now" and "Love Me By Name" were, in my opinion, Lesley's best albums, yet they bombed; and so Lesley constantly had to sing "It's My Party", "That's the Way Boys Are" and the like just to "Keep the Customers Satisfied". A reviewer of one of hers shows in the late 70's (I think, possibly early 80's) said that her best numbers were the new songs she wrote herself but then finished the article by saying she was "good from the nostalgia point of view at least"! Only this year is Lesley finally getting inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame which was long overdue, but I will not be content until she claims her rightful place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an institution which quite frankly has no credibility until Ms. Gore is inducted!

A very weak voice which actually improved with age, when Quincy Jones was asked to comment on her talent he was reduced to noting her "perfect pitch". Don't care. Her pure pop material combined with a voice that has enchanted me since I bought her first album upon release. So many underrated songs: currently have got on loop "What Am I Gonna to Do With You".
Interestingly, Skeeter Davis (who was once married to Ralph Emery) had also recorded “What Am I Gonna Do With You”. Both ladies did a fantastic job with this almost forgotten, underrated song.

her voice is beautiful but i wonder if after she had her nose done if the smaller narrower size affected her singing, maybe making it a little deeper. Also i noticed that she doesn't have the iconic way of singing out of the corner of her mouth. I liked that, and her original nose. Beautiful as she was in my opinion. A different beauty here
