From my experience, cheating bots don't accurately account for ongoing effects so one way to prevent them from retreating on T6 is to play a deck with ongoing cards and they are more likely to stay despite them losing. And pretty much all the decks that Nina recommended use ongoing cards so that's good.
@@ninaisnoobthat is true. After seeing a move deck player in conquest get aunt may or great web 3 rounds in a row, I didnt think it was a coincidence anymore.
I think Magik creating a turn 7 screws with their AI too. I think I have been inadvertently creating the “down in two lanes” condition by playing high evo - she-hulk cause I’m usually behind by 5, pass on 6, then hulk+she-hulk on 7. It’s usually a win or a retreat.😊
I really appreciate you doing this. A few months ago I noticed something was up but was unaware of bots. I left and came back and felt it worse (your comment about internal mmr makes sense). It feels pointless playing… I open the game, do the missions, and then I feel completely unmotivated, knowing most of the opponents are bots and how they operate. You are the first to do this, so kudos for that. A good way of confirming bots btw: if you minimise the game at the start of the match, when the first location is revealing, the timer doesn’t go down with bots. Seems to only happen at the start of the game, but i minimised and was caught up in a convo for about 15 mins and the bot was still waiting for me to play my cards. Anyone… this revelation has turned me of the game. I think it’s a bit of a scam and in combination with nerfing cards and excessive pricing and gradual reduction of free rewards… meh, I’ll focus my time on something else.

Just a question: is it worth to play a bot counter deck? I mean… yeah, every now and then you can face a bot, but they don’t seem to be so meta-breakers to build decks around them… The worst that can happen is that they retreat and you win a cube.
I hate the players who use bot names to trick you into hard commiting and then they fistbump you at the end, fuck you for having no honor and pretending to be a bot.
There is no guaranteed way to for sure always tell wether it's a bot or not, except for probably the snapping reasons at 3:10. You don't know who you play against, you don't know how new to the game they are, not every single player knows the metas, counter and synergies, and some off those that do, don't even follow them and play their own decks. Their name is not a good reason for it being a bot, because you can name yourself anything you want, and people are strange. Some people just use their own name, and some might be a very big fan of a certain marvel character and therefore feel cool if they name themselves after the character. Some people really do just use a random combination of characters because they want to be unique. Avatar is another stupid reason. You don't know their favorite character. If their favorite character only have the base variant, then they will use that. Also a new player only have access to the base avatars, so they HAVE to use it until further notice. Their decks is also not a good reason. You don't know which cards they have. Maybe the player just don't have anything they think is good. "like playing falcon when they don't have any 1-cost cards on board" yeah, maybe they forgot to add anything, or just don't have anything good to play, so they just do something. "if you play destroy decks, they will have armor" of course, i will have one too, just so i can stop the destroy decks as much as possible! And destroy decks are genuinly easy to predicted where you will play cards. An opponent that always try to be ahead in two locations is neither a good reason. I try to do that too. I would always do it if i had the right cards to be able to, because i actually want a chance to win. Staying behind on locations is a hinderance. The opponent discarding very good cards, for example Dracula, is not a good reason either, because thay could still have Hela in their deck, which would revive Dracula in a random location. Playing a card into darkworld is not a good reason either. There are some very good cards that are very good to play there: Nova, deadpool, wolverine, x-23, storm, scarlet witch and colossus, just to name some for the top of my head. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying bots don't exist, or that i haven't encountered one, i have seen a lot of strange plays that doesn't make a lot of sense. And sure, all of these behaviors do make it a very high chance you're playing against a bot, but you can NEVER be absolutely certain! Final notice: don't try to explain something about quite the game and look in the files if the opponent named their deck, because bots don't name them. There is a bug that exist, that can give a name to their deck if there is none.
@@ninaisnoob no problem! And thank you for your video essay. Just felt like i had to say something, because i'm sick of people saying things like "i played against this bot" and "there are good ways to for certain tell wether your opponent is a bot or not"

that’s how they were programmed
I've seen bots using death wave without Deadpool in it
I hate the players who use bot names to trick you into hard commiting and then they fistbump you at the end, fuck you for having no honor and pretending to be a bot.
There is a bug that exist, that can give a name to their deck if there is none.
wow thanks for the essay
@@ninaisnoob no problem! And thank you for your video essay.
Just felt like i had to say something, because i'm sick of people saying things like "i played against this bot" and "there are good ways to for certain tell wether your opponent is a bot or not"
@@ninaisnoob lol yea i didnt read that too
Well this explains why last season I struggled to get higher than rank 63 🙄 maybe now this season I can at least get to 70
