This was a difficult match for Manchester United. Without two of their best players in Roy Keane and Paul Scholes, they couldn't pick their best line-up, having to play Nicky Butt and Beckham through the middle instead. Needless to say, that midfield was overran by Bayern the whole match.. this doesn't take away from what the team achieved though, whoever says this was an "undeserved" win clearly didn't watch the rest of the campaign, specially the semi-final vs Juventus, who had been in the 3 CL finals previous to this and had a world-class line-up from top to bottom. Ye I feel that’s a bit of a myth just because they had a 1-0 lead and hit the woodwork a couple of times. Khan was tested and man utd always looked like a threat.
This is the most spectacular Treble in the history. First time playing in final for 30 years and ManUtd just won that in such a dramatic, emotional way. This is the best Treble ever, no doubts.
Lets hope OGS can save Man Utd again this season.I cried and jumped around when they blew the full time whistle on this match in 1999. I thought we were dead and buried coming to full time. Look at all the crazy luck @ the ball hitting the woodwork. That mad man Kahn was in determined mood.Maybe like what Lothar said was right, his sub was the changing moment.

The year I made the best choice of my life by joined Manchester United and year 2019 my daughter joined us too and till today am still proud of my team GGMU 👨👩👧
A fan doesnt join a team or even choose one, especially not as an adult. That's just a typical casual. A real fan is born and he doesn't choose his club the club chooses him and regardless of anything that happens it is always your club through good and bad. The fans who choose their club will leave to follow another club as soon as the bad times start. The modern era is full of such fans. In my day we had supporters not fans. Theres no way a man utd fan in Japan or india feels the same way about them as a fan from Salford or Swinton... theres just no way.
When I saw it back then, I was utterly devastated. Today I can smile about it, when I see the old pictures. So, with a little belatedness: Congratulation, Manchester...
I Love Liverpool Its was 2 goals in 1 minute 45 seconds actually. In the 90th and 92nd minutes. After Liverpool scored their 3 goals, the match dragged on for another 60 minutes and then penalties. Not as dramatic as scoring 2 goals right at the end of the match.
Lets be real mate...with all the financial power that United have...we will probably see them at the top or at least competing against top dogs soon...but AC Milan haven't got a prayer to hold on to...Milan enjoyed quite a dominant period between 2003 and 2007...n as a fan of football it hurts to say that...Milan will never be that good again...Milan got arrogant...they didn't build for the future...they thought that pirlo, seedorf, gattuso will never grow old...n they sold Kaka as well...
The most dramatic Champions League Final EVER!!! Man Utd was the Pride of England when they won that game! Whatever rivalry Man Utd had with other English clubs, deep down inside i'm sure they prayed for Man Utd to win as they were England's hope of bringing the silverware home. Thanks for the beautiful game lads 👏
I love the nostalgic recollections of the game that are driven old perceptions.."Manchester united were hardly in our penalty area" & "We dominated the game for 89mins" Mattheus said. That's the narrative of the night now driven by the late chances Bayern had when United were pushing bodies forward and the hit the woodwork twice. Truth is, Bayern scored early and invited United on and United had plenty of opportunities to score. Bayern repeatedly shot from distance and had little to no interest in going gung ho for a second call, until, as pointed out United left space in the last 15 by pushing bodies forward. I've watched the full game on more than one occasion and while Mattheus might say that they controlled the match and he would be right as they kept United at arms length, they certainly didnt dominate it. Every attacking stat is in United's favour. More shots, more shots on goal, more corners, greater possession. It's similar how the 2009 champions final is viewed that it was complete domination by Barcelona. Barca did dominate but it was closer than people perceive. The 2011 Champions League final, now that was a proper domination by Barcelona
This game brings back so many memories and emotions, I was 14 and watching it in the living room, when Man U scored the equiliser I phone my best friend at the time who was also a man u supporter, I remember us both screaming down the phone when Man Utd went 2 up and won it. What a rollercoaster.
People have to remember that, maybe not so much in this day and age, but an England team v a German team was basically another world war. The passion and the emotion was so damn high. There was a moment when Ole put that final goal in that you felt that you had witnessed something that would be remembered for years to come and for a brief moment if you were to die 5 minutes later, you would have died happy. I haven’t felt that way about the beautiful game in a very long time. Long may it return.
I'm no utd fan but I respect the hell out of sir Alex he to me is probably still the greatest manager I've ever seen... What he did for Manchester United as a club and his philosophy is unmatched... Amazing coach amazing man.
A story my dad told me: He was at work watching the match (he's a man united supporter), it was the 89th minute or something and was asked to move some boxes so he went since he thought the game was over. By the time he got back he was looking at Ole celebrating his goal for United's second. He was pissed but relieved at the same time.

it was fairly even, United dominated possession but both sides pretty much had the same amount of clear cut chances (up till stoppage time)
Ye I feel that’s a bit of a myth just because they had a 1-0 lead and hit the woodwork a couple of times. Khan was tested and man utd always looked like a threat.
One of the greatest moments is seeing how proud Sir Bobby was. It was written all over his face.
Got to be the best moment for me as a UTD fan so far. Terrific, heart stopping, completely bonkers result
This is the most spectacular Treble in the history. First time playing in final for 30 years and ManUtd just won that in such a dramatic, emotional way. This is the best Treble ever, no doubts.
Seeing peter teary eyes as he recall those memories... Hufffff....
I erased my comment so no one knows what I commented.
Me 😆
Meeeeee
We all ;)
Me 😂
Me
Wow, Samuel kuffour, powerful images, 20 years on and thats on of the first things i think about this final
Agree
I miss this passionate football. Footbalk this days is all-business, full of machinery. 😥
I was in high school in 1999 and due to the time difference I was watching this game on a Monday morning, and I was late for school after the game; I got a detention for being late for school but I still had the smile on my face!! Because it was greatest moment in football for me :))) plenty more to come with Ten Hag in charge🤞
Should have ditched school that day, bruh 😂
The night that made Manchester United the biggest football club in the world.
bhu nji - they were the most famous club in the world ever before this game was played.
Danny Phelan yeah in Europe
Stupid nine year olds:LiVeRpOoL iS bEtTeR
Real Madrid
Shut up kid it's Real Madrid 💙
its almost 2 Decades now.. holy mother cow... I got goosebump every seconds
Man I still get tears watching this. Still a great moment. Great win by a great team.
I was 16....this is the year I became a Manchester United supporter from South Africa...41 now..
One of the greatest games ever for united
Manchester United fans, I share the same emotion that you were, I'm a Flamengo fan, we had the same experience in 2019. greetings from Brazil!
Share the same emotions and the same colors 🔴⚪⚫ I love MU and Flamengo
Who is here after the legend solskjaer became United manager?
Me here. Hope solskjaer repeats history and brings the real manchester to it's glory days
I hope solskjaer will turn man u back to there glory again
Slowly but surely
When I saw it back then, I was utterly devastated. Today I can smile about it, when I see the old pictures. So, with a little belatedness: Congratulation, Manchester...
Lesson for life this. Never, ever give the enemy the chance to fight back. When they are down, finish them off completely.
Okay
No the lesson is never think you have the british beaten
What a team we used to be 😭 My father did right thing supporting man utd all his life even tho where I am from little was known about club football
One the best finals ever. Greatness
A once in a lifetime miracle. ⚽ 🎉 like it's 1999.
The best final by far
2005 better
I was seven at the time and it is still the greatest footballing moment I've ever seen. Absolutely unforgettable.
A Birmingham fan.
SAF best manager in football's history, period.
2 goals in stoppage time...greatest comeback ever..
This Barcelona 99 was more dramatic than Istanbul 05
Definitely. Man Utd won the Champions League in 2 minutes when everyone thought it was over
I bet nobody saw that coming😂
Mugi Fandy True. 2 goals in injury time. You can’t top that unless you score 3 goals in injury time.
Are you sure? But only 1 goal in 2 minutes Liverpool need 3 goals
The best 3 minutes in humans history ❤
It was the most memorable match ever in football. It happened when i was junior high student. I watced the game together.
When football was football.
The greatest comeback ever!!! I remember watching this I could not believe it!!!!!!
Now surely topped by liverpool vs barca at anfield
Or liverpool vs Milan in Istanbul
@@darrenlamb5640 Liverpool vs Milan was great in it's own right, but two goals to win the game in injury time was just better
Football miss The old Man United and the old Ac Milan ♡
Lets be real mate...with all the financial power that United have...we will probably see them at the top or at least competing against top dogs soon...but AC Milan haven't got a prayer to hold on to...Milan enjoyed quite a dominant period between 2003 and 2007...n as a fan of football it hurts to say that...Milan will never be that good again...Milan got arrogant...they didn't build for the future...they thought that pirlo, seedorf, gattuso will never grow old...n they sold Kaka as well...
Man utd will be back soon but it is difficult for Ac Milan
not with this united management
I remember this so well. Watched the game live. what an ending. It was so emotional. One of the best nights of football!
I can watch this over and over and over and never get tired of that beautiful moment of CL,
I love this game GGMU.......
Lol no
Only Man Utd fans feel that way towards other clubs. The other rival clubs wont ever want Man Utd to win a trophy. Man Utd fans are the best
From exactly this United spirit of playing, I love them ❤️
Can't help crying. Manchester us just magic
This game brings back so many memories and emotions, I was 14 and watching it in the living room, when Man U scored the equiliser I phone my best friend at the time who was also a man u supporter, I remember us both screaming down the phone when Man Utd went 2 up and won it. What a rollercoaster.
I felt emotional once again😭.... GGMU ❤️💥
This is what u expect from football..full of dramatic moments.. goosebumps everytime I watch this final 2 minutes
Amazing coach amazing man.
one of the best Final Champions league ever...one of my greatest day of my life....
Moment yang luar biasa..
Tidak akan pernah terlupakan...
Memory 1999
2020 and still get goosebumps from watching this
I Wish This Man U Team Rise Again Like Their Old Days ❤️
Beautiful from both sides. True football.
Still feel the same watching today as I did all those years back as a 10yr old pure magic
The only game where I can really remember what I did after Ole's goal. What an amazing night it was.
A story my dad told me: He was at work watching the match (he's a man united supporter), it was the 89th minute or something and was asked to move some boxes so he went since he thought the game was over. By the time he got back he was looking at Ole celebrating his goal for United's second. He was pissed but relieved at the same time.
Is this true
The best comeback ever in football history. Not Madrid vs Atletico, not Liverpool vs Milan. It's Man Utd! Who would ever think that they will turn back the game in the extratime?!
Greatest day in Manchester United history. Glory man Utd
Dramatic won by united.Glory glory united as our boss Sir Alex ..
