What do you mean it looks digital ? It looks practical AF - the sets, props, locations, even the grainy look: looks absolutely gorgeous, finally something that looks like a film and not like CGI vomit.
Completely agree, looks like a ton of work went into making this look amazing with detailed practical FX! Lots of care and attention unlike many cgi splattered modern films.
What I mean by digital is how it’s shot, the clean crisp high contrast look with very vibrant colors is a very shot on digital look. I don’t necessarily expect everything to be shot in film but this one in particular trades shadows and minimal lighting for a very vibrant and clean image. It’s not necessarily a bad thing but very noticeable coming from the older films.
The fx are mostly practical but the view is digital. It’s not shot with an older video camera setup. I mean obviously not. We’re in 2024 everything is very updated to the cleanest digital look it can get. Even though they added some movie grain and some washy filtering to appear more analog, you can clearely see it. Looks epic!
Fede has revealed in interviews that the first part is more Alien.like in mood, while the second part is more action, a la Aliens. So a perfect blend

I kind of wish it was more like Alien for most of it but a blend is kind of the vibe I’ve been getting. That’s great he’s acknowledging it was intentionally paced like that. Fingers crossed it works well 🤞🏻
There is so much that is not being shown according to Alvarez . The horror is supposed to be gruesome .

The more I see footage of Romulus, the more I think we are seeing way too much of this film! So I think your instinct to avoid trailer is correct but I understand why you're watching it. You may as well watch the VHS footage which appears to show pretty much the whole opening scene! 😣But it does look good 😎
I agree it seems to be more like Aliens now than Alien. But Fede said somewhere that the opening act is Alien, then switches to Aliens from the second act but I have a feeling we will get way more Aliens than Alien. He's actually put in some easter eggs from Alien: Isolation as well which rocks because that game is amazing!
Personally, I think the way you do everything is perfect, but I did think this one with your head smaller works a bit better. I like the "off the cuff" style where sometimes you pause it because as you are playing it, I pause it myself in places to write in the comments! Ha! Whatever happens, you know you're doing it right because you're growing! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I agree that there’s so much of Romulus now lol.. but I’m still excited and hope it delivers at the theatre 🙏🏻🌟… i read somewhere that it has something from Alien Isolation (which I’ve not played but yesterday I saw a speedrun of the game on RUclips and the game looks good!!) like the corridors and the tension so that sounds nice 😊… I also think his “smaller face” style works good too! To be honest, as long as the trailer shows in full and he reacts genuinely and pausing/commenting whenever he feels like it, I’m good… plus, when he gets passionate and has like a rant/gets a bit angry, I like that and it’s funny too😂

Ohhhhhhh! The game is amazing! For any Alien fan who games, I think it's essential. The fear and tension it builds is immense! I tried it once in VR and nearly had a bathroom issue! 🤣🤣🤣

I see from your other comment that you are a fan of Prometheus as well! I really don't understand why people don't like it. I actually had a big argument with a friend about it which made me sad. I understand it's all subjective but the simple argument of, "there's no alien in it", is not good enough!
@@BluRayDisplay I LOVEEEEEE 2+ hours movies LOL (as long as they have substance)… I just read on Wikipedia that Romulus has a runtime of 119 minutes so almost 2 hours of fun lol, but Wikipedia is not 100% reliable too🤔🤔🤔🤔…u almost had to go to the bathroom for Isolation omg… I’m a very scared sh*tless person, so I would have been the same and maybe shrieked lol…I agree he was perfect hair xD… I LOVEEEEEED Prometheus because it felt like existentialist in a way.. I wanted to know if Shaw would find the place where the Engineers live and their whole existence and all of that, but then I read that Ridley Scott was sad that Prometheus wasn’t as successful as he wanted it to be or something along those lines, and then he made Covenant to cater to the audience (and film upper management) that wanted a more action movie sigh.. Prometheus was good and I wanted a follow up but yeah, Covenant came and it flatlined (for me) lol… I think I’m gonna watch the entire Alien franchise again to refresh my mind 👽☺️… watch Romulus on IMAX if you can! It’s gonna be an experience for sure👁️👁️

Something like Heat that just has something kicking it forward every few minutes to earn it's run time 😎 Oh good, yeah, needs to be as close as possible to 2 hours so I will take that! Oh yes, I love that! It did feel more like that because we really did feel Shaw's massive regret and fear when she found out that everything she believed in was false. I love stories like that where the characters have a set of beliefs that is tested to the limit.
I totally agree, Covenant just felt like anyone could have made it. A by the numbers Sci-Fi movie that happened to feature a few xenomorphs. Real shame.
I've got Alien and Aliens lined up in 4K ready to go and then I will break out my Blu-ray's of Fincher's part 3 and if I really have to I will watch part 4 as well 😞

I have to agree that I feel like we’re going to get more Aliens than Alien… what he’s calling Alien is just a basic build up of any movie. But of course I’m sooo ready to be proven wrong!!! Hahaha. I am happy to hear people saying he thinks there’s a lot more not shown in the trailer.
I can’t say that I got any of those because I haven’t played it but that’s awesome he’s throwing those in there!!

You watched it! 😃… and I agree, this trailer shows a bit more and it’s kinda too much when it comes to trailers but I’m still hopeful and excited that it’s gonna be a great movie nonetheless 🙏🏻… I think maybe this movie will have a mix of the horror aspect/feel of Alien 1 and the action aspect of Aliens (Alien 2)… hope the movie is good and doesn’t screw the franchise😭
At least for me, I like the cutout of the full trailer and u commenting on it (I don’t mind the pauses, it feels organic). The little circle with ur face is cool too but I prefer the cutout of the trailer and ur whole face and the dark background (I love the blackness with a little bit of dimmed lights from lamp or whatever)… btw, I thought u were gonna scold me lol… I reply a lot but I really do feel ure a hardcore horror fan and authentic with that so that’s why I subscribed in the first place xD… and also, I get what ure saying with a lot of trailers for one specific movie… I feel it kinda takes a bit of excitement when there’s a lot of expectation for said movie, but i was shocked and loved this final trailer so much, I had to tell you lol 🤣

@@ShawnCBailey omg beetlejuice 2 has me nervous because I LOVE the first one so much and I’m scared they may screw the sequel with stupid stuff idk lol… but still, the trailers are decent xD
No director can please everyone, but I think this will reboot the tired franchise into a whole new horrific direction, which became lost after Aliens. Why did Cameron not do Alien 3, we may never know, but Fincher ruined the direction and feel of what Alien was all about. Fede is giving us a solid here, you just wait and see.

I don’t know if Fincher is all to blame as he barely had control on that film but yes the series definitely lost its momentum after that. It’s actually kind of crazy it’s still going without a reboot honestly.
But Prometheus was gonna bring Alien to a whole ‘nother level… and then the studio or whoever decided to pull the plug on a continuation on that whole story and then came Covenant as a more mainstream audience pleaser and I hated it 😭
@omargarcia7611 yeah, I hear all that, but those were spin-off directions. With horror genius, Fede, we're getting back to the brutal horror basics...on hulk steroids. Fede lives for bloodbath brutality. This will be next level hard-core. It may be too much for many.

@@syntaxed2 I have to disagree with teenage movies never working because I’m a sucker for a teen slasher. I will say modern teenage movies definitely don’t seem to work as well.
