  • Part of Gibson's new "Faded" series of guitars.
Sitka Top, Mahogany Back and Sides, 24.75" scale, Gold Gotoh Tuners, Baggs Element pickup. Finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer.
I like this guitar a lot - great feel and tone. I just wish it was a little more affordable, in line with what Gibson is charging for the faded J35 and J45 - it's a hefty price tag for what is essentially a "stripped down" Hummingbird, but that's the way it goes.
Recorded with Shure KSM32, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Logic Pro, no additional processing.
    Strumming 0:01 Flatpicking 1:33 Fingerpicking 2:20 Capo 3:20

I just received my Gibson Hummingbird Faded I can't put it down. I love the tones coming out of it. The 'openness' of the wood due to the non-gloss finish is awesome. I literally feel the vibrations of the woods all throughout. The guitar is an awesome beast.

That's one pretty guitar. Prefer natural over the traditional sunburst finish.
These really come into their own when evenly strummed, as the demo proves. Conclusively.
Forget the Gibson J200, every player should own a Hummingbird at least once during their lifetime on earth.

I bought mine, 2010 sb model, about 4 years ago at a really good used price. Folk are asking at least a grand more for used Hummingbirds now.

Shorter scale length gives it a more mellow tone, but very sweet in my opinion. Great demo!

Great demo as usual Ian. Do you find any notable differences between these satin Hummingbirds and the regular high gloss ones in terms of playability or sound?

That sucker would really ring with some attack
Too much time on the couch
    Great sounding guitar

Very nice tone! But this model has too much decoration on it for me.
