Your tutorials are really good, there are a lot of tutorials that show only basic things (and sometimes this is explained very long for not much) and there are only few channels that make original tutorials for Kdenlive, this allows to better realize the possibilities of this software. I didn't know the existence of the "curve" bouton and I think it will be very useful !!
@@nuxttux Your welcome ! I have been using this software for 2-3 months only and I am delighted, even if I pull my hair on some things (especially the use of blur on titles, some add a black frame behind then adds "screen" to have a nice blur (a Gaussian blur for example) but if we want to make animations and superimpose layers it complicates things in my experience), I don’t understand everything xD when I think of all the possibilities it gives me the turn... fortunately there are good tutos available on RUclips;)
Great tutorial! Thank you! I struggle with reusing animated titles. I created a 3 track animation, where track 1 is the vertical Bar on the left side of a text with two lines. Track 2 is the main title on the right side of the vertical bar. And track 3 is the subtitel under the main title on the right side of the vertical bar. The animation is, that in the beginning all three parts fly in from different sides and fly out to different sides again. I failed to create a template for this animation, so I can reuse it in different projects. Is there any way at all creating a reusable way to create a template? ... Duplicating sequences didn't work here.
With all the elements that you have, you can create just the animation in a Kdenlive project, save that project and import it inside other projects. Careful to match the frame rate. You can put that project inside of the Kdenlive Library folder for quick access in future projects. You can also save the animation keyframes as presets in the Transform.
3D models need to be created in something like Blender and rendered into a video before they can be used in Kdenlive (and then only just like any other video clip). Also, with Kdenlive being a video editor and not a VFX software, VFX like particle systems, lens flare, and other parametrized effects are not possible, and also not on the roadmap. OpenFX integration may be a way to get that but this is on the long term roadmap only.
What if I created the subtitles using the subtitle tool, instead of title clips? Do I really have to delete everything and redo the subtitles in title clips?
They've added basic animations to subtitles, you could give that a try by running the lastest release (make a backup of your project first). But yes, you'll have to use title clips for this kind of motion. You can export your subtitles and copy - paste the text, that could save a few minutes.
For some reason when I do the first method for subtitles, they end out going by so slowly, they have the amimation or so that I belive, but its not fast, nor springy like shown in the video, im useing the linux version, for the latest update for steam deck if that helps 😅
Hello, amazing work on your videos, can you make a video making tiktok style captions on kdenlive. I am particularly interested in the caption in which the text changes color as the word in the audio is spoken. Thank you and looking forward to the video.
That would imply doing it manually for each individual word. Or you could have two tracks dedicated to subtitles, and the typewriter effect to the top track, except that the timing might not synch exactly with the words as they're spoken.
Watch this ruclips.net/video/nVseXbfIltc/видео.html There's the Whisper AI for more advanced speech to text, but you'll have to consult the Kden documentation as I haven't cover it yet.
Your audio has to be mono. For stereo audio however, visually speaking, you could go to Kden Preferences > Timeline, and uncheck "Separate audio channels"
If only there is a trick to convert .srt into clips, maybe export alpha subs via some other app like subtitleedit or maybe another? so you can export the subs with .Assa formatting, like semi-transparent background with multiple lines box, and of course other formatting. then export them as some pngs or something to use with kdenlive, that would be probably much work , but with your fast method of grouping multiple selecting, etc, I think it's doable , now with the timing , u can import the same .srt or .assa file, into the subtitle default track (not the video track) , then align the pngs in the video tracks according to the alignment of the .srt subtitle sentences.
Kdenlive will support .ASS down the line. In the meantime, some made a script to convert .srt subtitles into Title clips in Kden. It's available on GitHub by Gr-og, kdensub.
@@nuxttux Yeah, maybe the solution if someone would just put a suggestion or ask for a feature on their forum or official website. I hope they separate the subtitle track and make it (effects ready) just like video tracks. way more less work for us ^_^
I never imagined this could be done with Kdenlive. Thanks!
why not?
I simply wasn't familiar with Kden before, so I didn't know what could be achieved with it.
@giselarosario5995 Thats fair! its definitely not as popular as DaVinci
As always, your tutorials are excellent. I always learn something new about Kdenlive for editing my videos. Thanks!
Happy to help!
Thank you so much for the video! Proper subtitles are important for a video and here is everything you needs to know.
I appreciate that. Glad it was helpful!

Glad I could help! Veo que haces tutoriales también.
@@nuxttux Yes, I do! I share my knowledge in photography and image manipulation powered by FOSS.
@@escoladephotodesign That's awesome, keep it up.

At 5:38 you click the curve button but I don't have this button on mine. Is there something you have to do to enable this to show up?
The curves view, it's available in the latest release of Kdenlive.
please make a video on how we add 3d models and use vfx in kdenlive

@berndmj said it best. Blender is the path to 3d and VFX. Kdenlive could be used to edit exported scenes but than again Blended has VSE for that.
Thaaanksss

why did the graph option in transform disappear in my kdenlive
I don't know. Verify that you're running the latest version of Kden, and that the effect panel has enough space on the UI.
thanks for this really nice video! can you make a tutorial on how to make kareoke subtitles?
I'll look into it. Kdenlive has new features for the subtitles, simple animations.
For some reason when I do the first method for subtitles, they end out going by so slowly, they have the amimation or so that I belive, but its not fast, nor springy like shown in the video, im useing the linux version, for the latest update for steam deck if that helps 😅
If the animation is slow, bring the key frames closer to accelerate the motion - for the first method.
@nuxttux I'll try that thank you, you are truly amazing and I appreciate the quick and fast response :)

why can't I move text from the project bin to the track simultaneously like you did in minutes 2:5

I have a question
"How to add adjustment layer?" like adobe premire pro...
By the way Love from 🇵🇰
Glad it was useful! Kdenlive doesn't have adjustment layers, however you can add effect to a track (or master) and use the "Use effect zone" feature.
