@@MakeItKustom I agree with hot rod dad your channel must be the best kept secret on the tube , I honestly just stumbled in here the other day and thought this was a discovery Channel or pilot show , very well done and your craft is definitely not the big network and that’s a true complement. Not to say all of them are crap but they somehow turn kustom into a reality / drama assembly line parody. I guess they say any publicly is good publicity ? However I’m a bit old school if your best at your craft they will stand inline to get in your shop so do be carful when they approach … love what your putting out it’s well worth my time . Look like a new sub to me !
I just tried this on valance panel for my 66 Mustang. My original had backup light holes cut in it. I found a good used original but it didn't have backup light holes. I wondered how I could accurately cut the holes into it and remembered this video I saw awhile back. I used the tape for the shape and cut out the holes and laid it out on the other panel. Worked perfect! Very accurate. Thanks for making this video.
Your attitude and shared knowledge are appreciated. I suggest using something harder than fingers to meld tape layers - hardwood, plastic, etc. One sharp edge will help keep this in mind.
It's the simple things that impress me the most. I always knew that duct tape would hold the shape of anything you stuck it to, it just never crossed my mind to use it practically. Thanks dude. I also appreciate you getting straight to the point without all the jibber jabbering.
Wray Schelling gives a great video tutorial on making flexible templates. He makes then with layout lines for symmetrical panels. He rebuilt a jaguar XKE bonnet (hood) recently and you wouldn’t believe the compound curves involved in that, but it was perfect. Thanks for the video.
I learned that by accident one day. Been using it ever since.. alway's hated wrestling with the paper and magnets.. love the content man. You are going to get huge on here. Just keep plugging away at it. 🍻🇺🇸
Thanks for your support Jason! So far the community has been so awesome and the growth has been so much more than I had expected in the beginning we really feel at home here
You are the man! One thing I like about your channel is you don’t say “okay we are gonna roll this” then camera cut and its like “so we rolled it” and it looks perfect. Showing the work even in fast speed is perfect for learning!
@@MakeItKustom yes the listening to it, Especially the hammer dolly stuff so you can hear the ting of the dolly. Do you sell dollys and hammers? Or have a place that you get them from. Stuff I see on internet doesn’t seem to have good quality
This was the second video I saw of you. You have very good tips that you share, you don't hide that things still need work and practice, you have that positive way to present your message. I just subscribed your channel and I'm looking forward to see your other videos 👍
I learned metal fabrication in the Air Force, working on the flight line, 30 years ago. This is definitely a tip I'm going to add to my toolbox. Thanks!
Wow thats a great way to transfer shapes! I would have never thought it work like that. Man i learn something new from every one of your videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Im a big fan of card board ( like from empty soda 12 pack cartons. So I dont throw mine away...I dont throw anything away lol) for making patterns.
I do carpentry work. Any pattern capturing interests me. Neat! I’ve seen tape use to measure the length of doorway arches similar to what you’re doing. Good video!
Great tip ..I always have to check u out when I come in for a break enjoy all ur videos keep up good work p.s.i am 65 years old and I few ol.projects myself I got 55 gasser in the works and just got in a 53 chevy business coop .keep up the great videos thanks
Wow. This videocame up on my feed based on youtubes algorithm and I just subscribed without even looking at your channel. Great simple tip anyone can do. I look forward to doing this on a future project and teaching this to my younger generations. I also think the earlier comment sbout you have a video about your inspirations to get into this is a cool idea. Im sure we all have some cool, but also similar imspiration stories we could tell and I think its awesome to listen to others stories. You never stop learning that way. And thats the most important lesson in life. Never stop learning! Keep it up man.
Thank you and welcome! I appreciate that you took the time to give me this great feedback. We love the RUclips community already we’ve only been on for a few months and can tell that this will be our main focus from now on. We will be getting to all those great ideas including this one! Thanks mate, I came to RUclips desperately looking for a smart way to mirror a wheel arch cut line onto the other side of the truck....you would think I would have thought about how to do that before I fired up the angle grinder, but...😄
Definitely utilizing this technique. Both my front fenders have some rot and I don't have a good reference but neighbor has similar truck I can reference from with this.👍
The most underrated channel on RUclips. Another great tip. I WILL be using this in the future.
🔥🔥 Dang! Thanks for the awesome compliment. We appreciate you checking out our channel! 👊🏼

This is an excellent idea. I've been masking for spraying and fibreglass but never thought to use tape to mirror a form.
