Bedarra Island is my sanctuary - my place to get away from it all and clear my head. Located in the heart of the Family Islands National Park, off the Queensland
coast of Australia.
I purchased the property as a private hideaway to escape and spend time with the beauty that I shoot. The remote island had no power or
water services making it a real challenge for construction.
When I hiked through the dense jungle a 20 foot high granite boulder caught my attention.
It was a natural progression to build my hideaway around
this stone giant, making it the main feature of the final design.
Balinese doors, old railway ties and all other hand-picked materials shipped by boat from the mainland. Each piece chosen so to blend into nature keeping a totally organic feel.
