Nice shave, Paul. As noted elsewhere in the comments, your razor looks a lot like what we in the US call a Super Speed. They're stamped with a code that tells us what year and quarter they were manufactured. As I was born in October of 1952, I knew to look for the code denoting manufacture in the last quarter of 1952. I managed to nab two of them, both great shavers.
My shave today was Barrister and Mann Spice shaving soap, an Above the Tie aluminum straight bar (medium exposure), a Gillette Silver Blue blade, a Paladin badger brush, some Thayer's Scentless witch hazel with aloe, and Barrister and Mann Spice aftershave. Sort of a throwback to my father's day, reminiscent of Old Spice. Very nice.

Hey Paul great Mid week shave 🪒. The flower arrangement is great.
It's amazing what scents can bring back memories from your past. For me TOBS Sandal Wood brings back memories of my grandfather.
The razor is a real looker. Great job on bringing it back. Have a great rest of the week. Take care

Hello. Enjoy your videos and Mrs. H does such and outstanding job on the flower display. I was born in Wales and we emigrated from South Wales to Canada when I was five. I can still recall my Welsh grandfather (father's side) shaving with a straight razor and using a leather strop to hone the blade. Funny how one remembers things like that. Anyway, enjoy hearing the accent as I don't get hear it much. Some of my relatives with that strong "valleys" accent require some translation at times...

Nicely done Paul💈💈 That razor looks like what we call a 1940's Super Speed, I have a couple and they are great shavers. The flowers are most seasonal, beautiful, thanks Mrs H. Can't go wrong with a sandalwood scented shave, gentlemanly IMO. Great video and results of the shave, smooth and clean. Enjoy!

Nice shave Paul, Nice Shaving Soap Suzi Banna sandalwood along the same lines as Tobs sandalwood but a little sweeter, it has the Reminiscents of the old Imperial Leather which had Cederwood as one of its heart notes it has that distinctive smell with that slight bitterness And reminds me of my Nan’s bathroom always had imperial leather in the soap bowl and my step grandfathers Gillette de razor on the window sill, you don’t see this shaving soap on many shaving channels in the UK and it is so good takes me back also, probably your picking up different olfactory scents to me it’s all subjective take care and enjoy the rest of your week 😀👍

I love the weight and the balance in the hand, so it's one of my favorite vintage razors. It could well be a daily driver.

Great shave, Paul. Earlier this year I purchased a 1911 Gillette Old Type from an antique shop near my house. Excellent condition for its age…no bent teeth or cracks in the handle. I often wonder its history and what it had to go through to end up in my hands over 100 years after it was manufactured. It shaves beautifully btw!

That's such a great razor! I borrowed one recently, and it shaves exactly like my English Aristocrat. It's my Goldilocks razor. Not too aggressive, not too mild. It's just right.
Everyone should try a late '40s-early 50s English Rocket. It's just a perfect shave.

Hi Paul I am a daily shaver and I used Sandalwood yesterday TOBS soap not cream I prefer soaps to creams and also prefer the scent of the soap.I finished with TOBS Sandalwood cologne. I do own a TOBS Sandalwood cream but the scent is a little overpowering for my taste.
    Keep well and keep safe.

Hi, Paul. What you have there is a Gillette Rocket 500 HD. The so called "Parat" is a different razor. Thinner handle, made for the German market. "Razor" in German is "Rasier Aparat", from where the short "parat" comes from.

Hello there Paul! I think what you got there is a British Rocket Super Speed from a No.51 Set. They were made in 1950. It isn't the British Rocket HD type. It's a hybrid really because it has the British system where part of the handle retracts when you open the TTO, but it also has the US style thinner handle. Nice one!
    It should weigh 64gms if it's a No 51.
