      There aren't a lot of great books on NLP. Steve and Connirae Andreas wrote the best in my opinion. Still, visual information will be the best teaching tool so I recommend video. Do both.

    Idk if this is something you can help me with but what would be a good technique to change negative feelings of competitiveness after for example losing a game of chess. This is just a random example. But Im a very competitive person and im wondering if I could like somehow change my mindset using NLP, is there any techniques I can use to like change this aspect of myself as I feel like its negative and or usually leads to negative feelings especially if I lose. Like whenever I lose a game doesn't matter what it is, it could be a card game a video game vs others. I get really annoyed and angry and it ruins my day. IDK if there is like some NLP tool I can use to like change this or strive for a better version of myself. A way to trick my brain into not caring so much.

      @@DamonCart Yea thanks for the response. I know it probobly seems so weird or strange for me to ask in the first place. But I'm just a curious person that is always seeking to better myself daily. I've always been a competitive person and its always been difficult for me to change this aspect of myself. Like getting upset and angry over losing in whatever the competition is. That anger is what im trying to work on and fix. It's something I dont like about myself. I was genuinely thinking that maybe NLP could be a solution for me. Like I watched one of your videos that mentioned you could like work on fixing bad eating habits or something by creating an image of an ideal version of yourself in your head. ETC. This is what got me to watching your videos more and lead to me asking this question. Anyways ill spend more time watching all your videos. :)

      AnanasFanta How is binge eating a problem for you?

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  4 года назад +1

      I don't recommend you use that process. I found the video you mentioned and watched it. It's very old school NLP and very typical of Robbins pleasure/pain association. More accurately it's classical conditioning. First of all I don't think the change is going to stick because all Tony did was make an association to the pizza he was holding up in front of his face. This will likely not generalize to all pizza, in all contexts, and all the time. The demo subject has probably had hundreds of experiences eating pizza that were pleasurable those will overpower one, brief conditioning exercise. You have to go much deeper than this for it to last. Finally, negative and painful associations often backfire on people because they're unstable. Tony probably got this approach from Milton Erickson who used his own physical pain from his ailments to drive himself to do extraordinary things. However, Erickson had no choice about his pain. Erickson was a master of using whatever he was handed to turn it into something better. Unfortunately though he had a dark side and he would sometimes use mental and physical pain with is patients to drive them to a resolution. I don't recommend emulating that even though he was marvelous at what he did. There's a better way.

And. nice job btw on doing 8 months of the healing process. Oh, procrastination is easy to fix with NLP and I'm sure NLPGYM has some great videos about it. My advice would be just to put-off procrastinating until a better time.

      Richard Hey Richard. Just curious. Which language patterns are you referring to? Like the meta-model violations?

    • @Richard-lx3xk
      @Richard-lx3xk 4 года назад +1

      @@behaviortech1080 Yes, the Meta-model and Milton-model.

    • @behaviortech1080
      @behaviortech1080 4 года назад

      The acrostic MLCCP-UM-NUS covers the Meta-Model violations. This includes mind reading. loss performatives. complex equivalence, cause-and-effect, presuppositions, unspexified verbs, modal operators, normalizations , universal quantifiers and simple deletions.
      Here's some brief text with examples of most of these.
      "I know you've been wanting to learn these language patterns and they are very important in communication.
      If you master these language patterns then you will be able to calibrate and build rapport with others quicker than ever before and that means you're becoming a powerful communicator.
      As you begin to learn and practice these patterns weekly or daily, every interaction you will notice at least one of these distinctions/violations.
      If you want to learn more, then you should practice these first by knowing the names of each violation, then write down examples and then begin listening for them on TV, Conversations and Everywhere you find yourself. And, if you don't remember them all, you will."
      1st: Learn what the violations looks like or sound like.
      2nd: Hand write the violations.
      3rd: Craft your response.
      The mnemonic SPACED CUULT covers the violations in the Milton Model that you can familiarize yourself with first. These are not as common as the Meta Model ones as they are used in trance, right? So, as you sit or stand there reading this you can remember the words SPACED CUULT, or not. Either way, you've already started to. A good friend and mentor of mine once said, "just as trees take in sunlight and grow their roots deep into the earth, so do we when we learn." I didn't really no what he mint at the time but I'm sure he did.
      S - SELECTIONAL RESTRICTION VIOLATION
      P - PACE CURRENT EXPERIANCE
      A - AMBIGUITY
      C - COMPARATIVE DELETION
      E - EXTENDED QUOTES
      D - DOUBLE BIND
      C - CONVERSATIONAL POSTULATE
      U - UNSPECIFIED COMPARATIVES
      U - UTILIZATION
      L - LACK OF REFERENTIAL INDEX
      T - TAG QUESTIONS
      Just Google and familiarize yourself with each violation, then after writing down and listening for these in conversations, you'll look back and realize just how natural and easy learning these things can be. And, I'm curious to know just how fast you can continue to learn even more.
      To Your Highest!

      If you go to John David Hoag's website you will find virtual Meta Model flashcards you can use for free. That's where I started. Do them 20 minutes a day. Then take one pattern at a time and focus on listening for it from other people and using the response. Keep doing this until it becomes a part of you.

    Hello Damon. Nice channel. I am practising my self Nlp then last month and I like it a lot. Question, How you remove from your thoughts a specific person that keeps coming in your head? It starts from the heart and it goes up. in other words how you practise emotionally detachment in NLP? Thank you

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  4 года назад +2

      The actual person isn't coming into your head. Your mind is doing this. First understand this. To think of it the way you stated it, implies that you have no control over this. Ask the part of you that is doing this what it's positive intent or positive message for you. You will need to understand this so that you can integrate the part into the rest of you and become whole. When a repetitive thought is causing you discomfort, it's usually an unconscious part of you trying to tell you something. It's a good thing. Listen.
