    Thanks for all these lectures Andrew, they’ve been very enlightening so far!
    What text book are you refering to in the videos?
    And as per your expertise, do you recommend me, an electrical engineer who’s passionate about architecture, to focus my interests into light designing? Or that area has its people already? I’m having a hard time choosing what to focus on, and what Masters program I want to enroll in.

      The textbook we use in class is by Gary Gordon, Interior Lighting for Designers, 5th Edition. Lighting design is a great career, and many people come at it from the engineering side, as opposed to the architecture side of things. As for which masters to pursue, that depends on where you live and what your options are. But if you're already an engineer, perhaps an architecture degree would make a nice compliment. There may also be continuing education classes at some schools, and a lighting design studio would be the one to take...

      @@AndrewBrody Great, I’ll make sure to purchase it ASAP then!
      And thank you for taking the time and giving me your take on what to consider for my masters degree and career options. Will definitely take this valuable suggestion into consideration.
      Unfortunately though, I will have to resort to an online masters program instead, which hopefully will give me the same quality of education.

    I have an question pls,
    I have a hall 5m*6m*3m hight
    I need to calculate nos of lights required , space between each light, light KW fir each ,total illumance required for the hall ,
    I would be preciated if I get the answer ,

      You would need to know the output of the light you're planning to use. Spec sheets from products such as downlights will actually have recommended spacing for different light levels based on ceiling height. A good manufacturer for this type of lighting is Edison Price here in the US. ERCO in Germany also has very good data.

    i have lumen output and mounting height, than how to find Lux by manual calculation?

    • @AndrewBrody
      @AndrewBrody  4 года назад

      just multiply lumen value time 10.8 to get a close approximation of lux value.
