What did you use to paint the frame axles and all those components in that satin black finish looks great I’ve used “POR15 Top Coat Chassis Black” with decent results but this just looks super clean finish
I was thinking about buying a CNC plasma table to make stuff for people. Maybe. No, it's not going to SEMA. It's just made for the track. It will only be pretty for a short period of time.
Based solely off the last truck I did. The last truck had leaf spring suspension out back, redrilled hangers, and 3" lowering blocks. I liked how it sat and rode, but the axle would constantly slam into the frame. I put a 2" notch in that frame, and the problem went away. These coilovers are twice as stiff [at least] as those leafs, and will have even less travel under the same driving conditions. Since it's going to be at the same ride height as my last truck, I stuck with the 2" notch.
@@Inner_Sanctum Hey, I just came across Rhodes video detailing how to properly measure the additional clearance needed. Thought you might be interested, if you haven't already seen it. ruclips.net/video/yCqv7MfOgBQ/видео.html
I just use a self-etching primer on the bare metal spots then use VHT rollbar/chassis epoxy paint. Dries to the touch pretty quickly, and fully hardens after about 48 hours. I have had great luck with it. Nice/resilient finish.
@@the_ultimate_steezzz8885 how did I get the SR? I've had this engine for years. It was in my 180sx before I was taken out by a drunk driver. I just pulled it from that car, changed a few things, and swapped it into this truck. Best bet is to try on FB Marketplace or hop on the local drifting group pages and ask. Buying from an importer right now will cost you a small fortune.
@@Inner_Sanctum yea thanks man that awesome love the content too I have an Rb30 out of a skyline that could potentially fit what do you reckon maybe try that conversion ?
@@the_ultimate_steezzz8885 funny story about an RB30. I bought a RIPS [Robbie Ward; NZ] built RB30 shortblock back when I was stationed in Okinawa [~11 years ago] and mated a built RB25 head to it. I still have that engine sitting in a crate in storage. I have never had a vehicle worthy enough to put it in. Lol Was think about buying a 72 Datsun 240z and putting it in that. You could absolutely swap an RB30 into a little truck, but it will be VERY nose heavy if you don't cut the firewall and move it into the cab area. An RB is a long engine, then the RB30 adds more height to the equation. So yes, totally doable, but will require a bit of work to make it handle properly. If you're only going to use the truck for drag/highway runs, it doesn't matter. If you're drifting or doing circuit racing, you'll want it far back and low.
That is a peace of art you created right there awsome job! It's coming along real nice keep it up.
Looks like it's coming together nicely
Can't wait to see this finished man!

Is 18 your current episode?
If so I will go back and start from the beginning.
Good luck!
Yep! 18 is the most recent episode. Working on 19 right now.
great explanation, as usual. what mfg / model jack is that?
It's just a 2 ton low profile Harbor Freight jack. The model # is worn off.
WHAT JACKSTANDS ARE THOSE? 50$ ONCE FROM AMAZON?
you should consider making a whole kit for this conversation ( d21 to the drift truck) it would benefit many people. also you taking this to sema?

Looks great! How did you determine you need 2” of additional clearance?

You should always use a guard on a grinder no matter what safety first.
True true... anything else you took away from the video other than my small mistake?
@@Inner_Sanctum you’re doing a good job so far those welds are looking good. I enjoy watching other work on their tiny trucks. Keep up the good work
👍🏻
What's your local metal supply? I need some steel for projects
I use Westbrook Metals mostly, but Ashley's Metal's is starting to grow on me.
@@Inner_Sanctum thanks I'll give them a shot
@@24BLUEELMO yeah dude. Ashley's is WAY cheaper. However, they usually don't have specialty stuff like Westbrook.

Where’d you get you’re motor built ?
In my garage by me.
Haha that’s the way how’d you get it tho trying
To do the same conversion into my d21
