THANK YOU! You explained how to do the install clearly and without a lot of personal banter... some people get caught up in hearing themselves talk rather than cutting to the chase and helping us non-handy people out! BIG THUMBS UP!
I second that! No directions and even the website scan was invalid-nice intro to Dyson. My question is for Tom or anyone else. Do the screws need to be drilled into studs or will the dry wall be sufficient enough to hold? It appears drywall. Can you use a hand held screw driver or do you need a drill?
Everyone said Dyson wall mount and showed how it pierced the wall. You explained in detail how to place the charging cable and charging port 🤩 Thank you very much, exactly the video I was looking for👏.
Glad I could help it’s that very intuitive how you do that it took me a while to figure it out and we didn’t have the explanation in the directions glad I could help again thanks for watching
OMG !!, thank you so much for this video, very well explained. You go right into the the topic, I've been looking for instructions on this installation but none like yours. Thanks again !
Thanks so much for the detailed video of putting the plug in the dock. I liked how you hung the long bit to the size to use the wall space you have super clear and simple super duper 🥳
Thank you and thanks for the comments I don’t know why Dyson doesn’t give you clear directions in their instructions but this one was a definite puzzle but we got it figured out thanks for watching
@@TomLeeman hi it seems they don’t want to print multiple languages and use icons/Ikea argggg mine also is without a face plate which many had… very confusing 🤣
Lol if it wasn’t for your video I would have never did this. I didn’t know you needed to push the charger so hard up the little nozzle tube for your charger. Thank you
Thanks!!! I haven’t bought one yet but I’m planning to. I just don’t know where I’m going to put it. How much space does it need to be away from the wall? I’m thinking I could potentially put it behind a door… But I may not have enough space. I’d sure like to know how much space is needed for the Dyson docking station
Thanks for your reply… actually I noticed in your video that you mounted your docking station close to your washing machine. And then you hung up the wand beside it. I am going to do exactly that. The only difference is that I will hang up the wand in another location close by. Thanks for your help! This made my life so much easier.
Awesome video! Question - how did you know how big of a hole to make for the anchors? Sorry if that’s a dumb question, just moved into my first apartment!
Thanks for the gr8 detailed video Tom. Do you need to screw into studs or is the drywall sufficient? It appears like the drywall will hold since you didn't mention anything about finding the studs. Since it is just drywall, can you use a hand held screw driver or do you need a drill? That is a good idea to mount it in the laundry room with just the base. The Dyson video show the mount with the entire leg attached to the mount on the wall. That is nice bcuz everything is all together, however, it takes up more space and it's not as easy to mount it next to an outlet in a more confined space like next to a washer or dryer. You could fit the charging base next to an outlet better with only having the base mounted and I guess just store the leg somewhere else.
I had a stud right behind the screws so it went right into the wood which you know really liked it down. Otherwise you could use anchors in the drywall. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
Looking for some advice: With a wireless vacuum, would you install the mount high enough for the vacuum to be resting solely on the mount, or would it be best to have the base of the vacuum resting on the floor to take some of the weight off the mount? My bf just installed our mount but it's high up enough the vacuum isn't touching the ground and all its weight relies on the mount. I am pretty nervous about it falling because I have a cat. I have been watching countless videos and searching Google but haven't found an answer yet. Is there anyone who could give some advice, or suggest an additional way to secure it as I'm not sure if this mount required double sided tape and if so-I would assume it can't be re-mounted with out it...
If you screwed it into a stud or a 2 x 4 in your wall it’ll be fine we made additional hook to hold our long, vacuum wand and head but you can do it the way you did it you just Gotta make sure that it is firmly attached to the wall Good luck thanks for watching.
Thanks Tom, great video.. My V-8 came with studs (as you used) and screws. Is it really necessary to use the studs if I am screwing into a stud? Thanks in advance.
I just bought that at Home Depot. It was like something that you would hang a rake or a shovel on. They have them on that one aisle. Good luck thanks for watching.
@@MihalsSapovalovs Hi! I truly thought mine came without screws and anchors!!! Until recently I found that they are taped to the back of the wall mount! I don’t know how the baggie camouflaged into it 😅😅 double check your screws aren’t inside a little bag taped to the back of the grey wall anchor!! I hope yours were included!!
Thank you. I was looking to buy this exact wall mount from eBay. Do you know if this will fit with my DC34? The eBay listing doesn't include my DC34 model in the compatibility list, but the DC34 looks almost the exact same as the V6 V7 V8.
Lost the screws in my move and I don't want to take the mount to the hardware store. What size screws did you use? All my inventory screws are too fat.
I installed the wall mount for my Dyson V11 Torque Drive vacuum using just the screws and not the anchors. However, there is no stud behind the wall and while I am able to mount the canister and a small tool, the top of the mount is just a tad away from the wall. I am concerned about whether this will hold. Has anyone else installed a wall mount without the anchors/stud and was the wall mount able to adhere to the wall and not break away?
You may need some drywall anchors which are the big steel ones that expand behind or get a stud finder and screw it into a stud that’ll never come off good luck thanks for watching
hi, does it come with 2 chargers in case you want to use the wall charger or charge it away from the wall mount? if only one charger and you do the wall mount sounds like you are always stuck using the wall mount since you can't remove the charger cord once mount is screwed into the wall.
I used screws I had but if you can find the stud in the wall it should hold the weight I use drywall screws sometimes to screw right into the stud if not anchors
Sounds like it may not be charging. You have to make sure that the contact goes inside of the charging port on the Dyson. It may not be getting in there or it may not be plugged in properly. Good luck thank you for watching.
So- am I the only one who is concerned about it reaching full battery but it’s still plugged in?! I was about to mount the wall hanger-but of course this thought came to mind. I just prefer that I disconnect the charger from the vacuum once it’s reached full charge. I’m guessing I can just pop out the charger head once I see it’s reached full battery? Anyone do this? Or ???
Is it just me, or are the mounting screws that come with the V8 way too long? Like, dangerously long? I'm afraid I'm going to hit a wire or a water pipe or something!
If you can find us wooden stud in the wall, you should be OK. I have a special stud finder that tells me if there’s wood or metal. Good luck. Thank you for watching.
To install the anchors I just need to drill the holes and then place the plastic anchor in and then screw in your screws. You can use a template such as a piece of paper on the back of the unit and mark where the holes are supposed to go and then put it on the wall or you can just try to find some studs and screw in some drywall screws. You may need a stud finder to do that. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
@@TomLeeman maybe a dumb Q but did you use the screws that came with the anchors or a bigger screw/drill bit? I tried drilling with the screws first but couldn't get the anchor in after. Tysm for responding!
