I want you back again I want your love again I know you find it hard to reason with me But this time it's different, darling you'll see You gotta tell me you're coming back to me You said we're through before You walked out on me before I tried to tell you, but you didn't want to know This time you're different and determined to go I wait as the days go by I long for the nights to go by I hear the knock on my door that never comes I hear the telephone that hasn't rung
As Tears Go By was the first song written, Andrew Loog Oldham locked em in a room at night and told them they weren't coming out until they had wrote a song. (They had just got I Wanna Be Your Man from the Beatles but knew they couldn't compete until they started writing their own and stopped being a blues cover band).
Nice job. I use a drop D on a 12-string. Really great song! Not Fade Away was on the A side. First song and first Stones 45RPM I bought. Kief is cool on it.
Hi, fab as usual. Just wondering what strings are on your hummingbird and Jumbo? 12’s or 13’s? ( brand name) Or, in your opinion, what’s works better when tuning down? Love your music ; cheers! ‘ n good luck!
im so bad at figuring out the chords for a song, i can replicate the melodie lines for some solos but just cant decide whether some chords sound good or not, but i wanna learn, i guess itll come with time and trying to listen more carefully
It doesn’t matter. You don’t even have to know that. I hit that low E string - tune your E string to that and then tune all the other strings from that E string. Take your tuner and put it in the guitar case. Leave it there.
@@bumbeatle9253 C# F# B E G# C# It’s standard tuning down 1 1/2 steps. You can play it in standard tuning, it will just sound a tritone higher. If you were to put a capo on your guitar on the third fret in this tuning, it would be just like playing in standard tuning
I strongly disagree. I think the mid-late 60s as well as the Mick Taylor era (‘69-‘74) were BY FAR the best The Rolling Stones had to offer. Early 60s Stones were great, but it wasn’t until the mid 60s that they truly blossomed musically.
Great Stones tune. Can't hear this song without picturing the bar scene from Mean Streets. Great film too.
You really dug deep for that song! Nicely done - I'd almost forgotten about it.
Nice…very nice JJ !
Thx for reposting this great Stones tune. Def one of my faves 🎶🎵
Brian's part was really special
To bad he did not do more stuff like that.
That middle lead break gets me every time. Just love the tone and the chord progression.
That's Brian Jones. That olive-green Gretch electric guitar that he used in '64.
I’m pretty sure that part was Brian Jones’ only non-slide guitar solo
@@AssinnippiJack superb isnt it?
That was great. I remember buying the 45 rpm when it came out and I think it had not fade away on the b side. I became an instant stones fanatic
Not fade away was the a side
You're hitting some home runs .............great job....................
Thanks! I always think of the 78 movie Coming Home when I hear this song. Great song and great soundtrack.

Early stones just the music to hear at a Saturday night dance.
The early early stones were the best

Right, plus As tears Go By was a better Mick and Keith composition for me
That's a myth that Oldham locked them in a room, but it makes another nice story by Richards.
Actually the band had written other songs before as tears go by.. Tell me is underrated, awesome.
Hey JJ , a great lesson on Tell Me. Love it ,man!!!

The Dead Boys, an unknown punk band did a great cover of it

@@jamesjames9275 Great advise for "playing along" with a song
Its the stones. Its however out of tune keiths guitar was when they got the tune down enough to record 😆
C# F# B E G# C#
Can you play this in standard?
Sure. But the voicings won’t sound quite right. Those suspensions are meant for these chord shapes. They wrote it like that for this tuning.
James James thanks man. Would it be too much to ask what tuning this is? Im not that good yet to tune it by ear

Early stones were the best. The late 60s stuff was good but that initial run of hits were the best
