I watched this over 10 years ago with absolutely zero context or anything. I asked my friend who watches a lot of anime for a recommendation. She hadn’t seen it and she thought she was playing a prank on me cause she looked for a gay anime and this one appeared. Turns out it was the best recommendation she could have given me. It is one of my favourite shows ever and now she has seen it too and she loved it as well.
She should cosplay either Tamaki or Kyoya, I think that Kyoya is the host that has the closest personality for her (if we don’t count Haruhi) and I think Tamaki would just be super fun for her 😊✨

I’d recommend Fruits Basket to watch. It’s another shoujo classic that recently got a super good remake. Or if you guys are up for some currently airing shows Horimiya and Sk8 the Infinity are good. The first is a sweet slice of life romcom and the second is a hype sports anime.

My sister was the one who introduced me to the wonderful world of anime, whilst showing me Ouran (my very first). She had already told me the main synopsis before we watched the first episode together. Those were some good times. Btw I saw that in the montage of your different reaction videos at the start of this video, you were cosplaying as Deku from MHA (which is my fav). Did you know that Ouran was animated by the same studio as MHA? MHA and Ouran also shared some english voice actors as well!

"Ore" is especially considered more "rough", but both can be used with people you're closer to. Japanese people always consider who they are talking to and the context they're in when choosing a manner of speech. There are even other pronouns in the language but they're rarely ever used. In anime, you find a lot more characters using these informal pronouns since they take more liberties to express and highlight individual personalities, but that's pretty much it

I've watched Ouren high school host club twice and the first time I watched I was confused, shocked and a little wired out (because of the twins) but when finding out that Hurahi was a girl I was laughing because of Tamaki and I didn't see it coming

I know that Haruhi was a girl, though the show did introduce me to the complexity of gender identity. Considering it was the mid 2000’s, I was 10, and I’m not sure if I know what a gay person was at the time (let alone anything about the LGBQ+ community)... I can definitely say Ouran High School Host Club gave me a positive starting point on the subject of gender identity.
You know, if you think about it, the legal age in Japan is 13, so what we think about Honey being the "Lolita type" (age 0-17) it means that we find it inappropriate or weird, but Japan might think otherwise.

Okay to answer some of these questions from the video. Of course I partially went into Ouran blindly. I say partially because I found it on Netflix with the synopsis about it and didn't know what to expect. But when I saw that first episode I went "Oh no are they really doing this?" when of course they roped in poor Haruhi into the host club not helped of course by each character. But like I said when you first started the series, only half of the characters of the club are not bad, in my mind Tamaki and the Twins are the WORST characters in the entire series. And again I just didn't like this anime, I think it is very VERY bad. But that being said I can't wait when you two get to episode 8.
Maybe Miranda could cosplay the other twin so your both matching thought what I don't understand is how did the twins find out Haruhi was a girl from not wanting them in the changing room surly not all boys want to have others in the room with them? other than that loved the video.
