Thank you for taking the time to make the video. I have the same issue with a 2007 4.3l, I have been looking for reviews on the crank adapter. I just ordered one.
You are the first person to show the back side of the Rotation adapter to show that it's hollow.. Thank you for that!! Would I be able to hook this up on the crank pulley instead of the damper? I am trying to avoid removing the whole pulley system just to turn the engine over (not seized). I imagine taking out the 3 side bolts and leaving the center (crank shaft) bolt on and then mounting it on the pulley. What do you think?
@@RacerXGarage I bought the adapter but chickened out of mounting it to the pulley.. it didnt seem like the adapter was lying flat and since only those 3 bolts hold the pulley to the crankshaft, with all the tension, I feared that removing even one bolt would cause the pulley to shift. Then I would have to remove everything to remount the pulley with all 3 bolts.. So I ended up rotating the engine by the crankshaft bolt. Forward was fine but doing it backwards loosened the bolt.. I torqued it to 60 and it was okay (not great but okay). Thanks for the reply anyways!
@@RacerXGarage My engine is "kaputt" so i decidet to adapt a honda NTV engine for cruising.... maby i will share my work if i find some time to upload video ;-). Ah, and good luck in project ;-)
Its literally just removing the 3 bolts that hold on the crank pulley, and then installing this in its place. Its pretty intuitive, if you pull the crank pulley off it should make sense.
Eh, i don't think that us the case, case it will rotate 360 and smooth now. I think the starter or the drive is stopping it from rotating the opposite way.

it might work, to be honest I'm not sure if it is deep enough or not to go around the crank bolt. Good luck!

What is that tool called? That got the engine to move?
I don't remember off hand, but I do think I added it to the video description if you look there.
It's called "Engine Rotation Adapter"
How's it running 2 years later?
Unfortunately It's not.... ruclips.net/video/xc-sSuZwlYs/видео.html
Where did you get that tool at and what is it called
It's listed in the description, "engine rotating tool"
Thanks guys, but what caused the motor to seize
I seized because it sat outside for 15+ years without being started
How to instal the adapter tool? Can't see anything

Where can u get that rool or what is it called
The answers to both of these questions are listed in the video description.
Great job buddy
Appreciate it!
What's the name of the tool that you turned the crankshaft with?
"Engine Rotator Adapter" I believe. The link is in the description of the video.
Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Vous êtes les bienvenus
Theres probably a grove in the cylinder is why it only wants to go 1 way

Where’d you get that tool that bolts to balancer? Our mercruiser is seized too
I got it from Amazon, I just put it in the video description
did you pull the plugs back out before you tried to turn it? might go easier
Yeah, we pulled the plugs every time before we tried to rotate it. I'm happy to say it's free and clear.
dose this boat has wooden floor deck ?Grat job on the engine
Thanks! I think it sort of does have a wood floor. Then covered with fiberglass and gel coat. Not 100% sure but I believe that's what it has going on.
Any updates if you got it running?
We're waiting on some parts, will have some videos up as soon as they come in.
Any body know whare I can buy one of the engin ballencers on line
I would think it should be available at any parts house, but that's just an assumption. Good luck in your search!
Whats the name of that piece that the breaker bar fits into, to turn the motor. I need that exact tool
Look up Proform 66782 Engine Rotation Adapter
Thanks, will do. Hope I get this motor to move!!
@@staymercing1476 me too! We just fired this one yesterday for the first time. Stick with it
Got my motor to move quarter of a rotation, so just might be able to bring this beast back to life
@@staymercing1476 Did it just spin the bolt in the crank pully without the tool?
I have the same problem i hope this helps me
Good luck, I hope so too!
Did you get your's free?
You may have a starter issue
Yeah since we freed it up, we can hear the starter gear and flywheel touching so going to pull it off to see
Got so excited when I saw the bar move man!!!! I got two 1.8 Ford diesels and one doesn’t move either😞 Did you get a new starter or isolate the issue?
