I live in Florida. Lake city, live oak, Perry, high springs, bell, Trenton, cheifland, jasper, Lake butler, Worthington springs, fort white. This is the real list of cheap places. They aren't too bad, just small towns. Money goes a lot further there.
Whatever you may save from not paying income tax, you will pay in homeowners and car insurances, cost of upkeep and repairs and taxes, even if homesteaded. Easily.
Yep. My homeowners insurance has tripled in the last 3 year. My car insurance has doubled. Gas is ridiculous and most Florida jobs are low paid in the service and tourism industries. Heat index over 100 most days in the summer. Swampy and muggy. The beaches are super crowded usually. Full of sharks, gators, and salt water crocs too because of the anti hunting laws the last 30 years. Traffic goes up by 10 times during the winter in south Florida because of the snow birds. City Beaches also have lots of druggies and shady people. Watch out for needles in the sand. Good ole boy system in most places. Meth capital of the US. Cities listed are full of just old rich people that don't want to help the younger people.

Man definitely some hot places in Florida tho. That’ll take some getting used to for sure. But I love no income tax states
I think Pensacola is pretty cheap, and it's a really cool beach area that isn't as touristy

The police are relentless with speed traps and what appears to be a quota on giving out tickets. I would stay away just for this reason.
