Madam, u r converting sea shells which is seemingly useless to layman like me, into jewellery. Its very very creative and one must have required talents with brain to do this. I really appreciate it. Because I am from coastal south India based in Bombay. During my childhood we used to play with that shining sea shells. After watching your video I realised that what can b done with that. Thank u very much.
So nice to listen to someone sharing the clear detail of your steps, what you use and why. I really appreciate your time and effort and the final pieces are just lovely!

I never knew how beautiful a simple shell can be after removing the calcification. They are pretty enough to stand alone, but I really like how you've added bits and bobs to enhance some of them. I came across an old pair of amethyst stud earrings that were my Mom's. They do not look like the same artisan made them! The stones are not the same color intensity and 1 setting is a bit more delicate than the other. I might just have to use them individually how you've used a stud earring on 1 of the pcs you shared near the end of the video. Thanks so much for sharing all of your lovely designs.

what an amazing tutorial. i made a lovely windchime out of flat scallop shells, using my dremel. this is so much fun. i stopped making things as no one was buying lol btw are you kids ok, its been a long hot summer here in new zealand! hope all is well.

Gorilla Glue just came out with Clear Gorilla glue.. The E6000 takes way to long to dry.
I have an opportunity to set up a workshop soon. Also, along with my Dremel rotary tool, I bought a drill press for it. It can be used like you are doing with the water but the drilling uses less of your strength. I love it. Awesomeness👍

on the shell that was not as polished as the one you bought with the ball bearing in it, how will you get it as poslished? Your shells all looked like high gloss/sheen

How do you polish the shell surface. Where do you acquire your beautiful shell pieces, not the finished jewelry. Your pieces are radiant and very beautiful. I especially like the use of stud earrings as stones.

Have you ever tried using resin?
At 6:23 you show a shell with scratches. I'ld like to know what you used to polish them away? The finished piece looks beautiful. Thank you!
+seeamerica1 I used a lapidary grinding machine. You can also use a wet & dry sandpaper or a rotary tool to polish the sea shells if you don't have access to a lapidary machine. Thanks for watching. All the best, Liz

What is this tool called and do the bit attachments come with it if not what are they called ?
I don't know what tool she is using, but a Dremel tool will work very well for the same job. However, if you are going to be using it in water, make sure you get a cordless Dremel. Using corded electric tools in or around water is extremely dangerous and you risk electrocution. Dremel is not very expensive and usually comes with the accessories you see in the video. You can find Dremel very easily online or purchase in places like Walmart, Kmart, Home Depot, etc. Good luck.

I wish I had some place close to pick up shells. I use to live on the MS Gulf Coast before Katrina and had access to shells. Now its such a long drive to get anywhere to get them.

+Monica Sedillo I've had the same problem, used to live by the ocean but no more. I think ebay prices for shells are high.
I have found some shells at Hobby Lobby and Michaels as well but there is not very much variety.
I found some very tiny ones that I thought were so cute I had to get them. I ended up making some seashell bottles with them.

Do you only use shells you collect yourself, or do you also buy them from other people? Do you ever do anything with blue Atlantic Muscle shells? If I listed them on eBay, would you buy them? They're black with metallic blue or gold color on the backs.

Hi Marsha, I got the grinder from our local craft store many years ago. Nowadays, there are a lot more rotary grinders available from hardware stores and also online. May I suggest you look into one with a flex shaft attachment. All the best, Liz

can you tell me how to polish my crystal quartz points I put them in rust out to remove the rust and it left a gunky white milky film on it that does not wash off can you tell me how to polish them I have a dremel tool
Coleen Taylor Hi Coleen, Sounds to me that there are other minerals on the surface of your quartz and that's the reason for the milky film on it. I'm not an expert on cleaning quartz, so I can't give you any advice. Maybe you can check out the link below on cleaning quartz. All the best, Liz

Hi Marina, I have a 3 different types of drill that I use. Two of them are no longer in production and the other is a dremel. May I suggest that if you're wanting to get a rotary drill, just make sure that it has "Variable Speed." Cheers, Liz
