Ambedkar: Caste, Constitution, Gender

A roundtable discussion on the life and legacy of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar; an extraordinary LSE alumnus and champion of Dalit rights recorded live over Zoom on 30 June 2021.
Nilanjan Sarkar (LSE) and Jayaraj Sundaresan (LSE) are joined by Rohit De (Yale University), Shailaja D Paik (University of Cincinnati), and Suraj Yengde (Harvard Kennedy School) to discuss caste, constitution and gender in the light of Ambedkar’s life and work.
This event was a collaboration between the LSE South Asia Centre, LSE Library, and the DecolonisingLSE Collective, and marks the launch of a new online exhibition which explores Ambedkar’s time at LSE.
